When the time had finally come, and Irene deemed that enough death and suffering had befallen her people, she lifted her head once more and stood up from her throne. All throughout Elysium, her clones stood up with her as Irene and her copies all appeared before Goliad and his horde of monsters.
With Irene at the center, the clones spread out and held out their hands, as if to project a field around the horde.
That was the signal of their end...
One by one the beasts fell to the ground with even the flying ones faring no better. They died on the spot, their bodies deeper decaying and their bones withering to dust.
It happened so suddenly that the surviving citizens nearby had no idea what to make of it. One instant the beasts were on a blood-fueled rampage and the next they were dead. The bodies toppled like a wave as their lives were abruptly cut short.
The only one still standing was Goliad himself. But even he seemed to be struggling against something that could not be seen.
