It was dawn when Shiro woke up. She was laying on her back in the ravaged plains. Craters little the area and there were various patches of upturned earth. It looked like a natural disaster struck.
"Ngh..."
Shiro shifted uncomfortably as she slowly came to. Then her heart began to race and she quickly snapped awake as she remembed what had happened.
"Rune!" She called out, but he was nowhere to be found.
Shiro slowly climbed to her feet as images from the previous night slowly trickled in. She had not been entirely unconcious when the forces of life and death began clashed all around them.
She remembered Rune and feel his cold metal armor against her skin as he held her close. How he used his body to shield her from the rain and chaotic forces.
But he had disappeared now. Again.
Shiro scrunched up her face bitterly as she looked down at the ground. She wanted to go after him and protect he, wherever he was. But this was different from when she followed him to Lumiere.
