I was walking slowly while running with no intention of living. Rei was beside me and we had no conversation since the war.
Perhaps, sensing my turbulence heart Rei tried to cheer me up but it was no point. What's the point of holding back if you can't even use your overwhelming power to save your only friend?

Day 24, Month 11, Year 12xx, Area 90283
"Gene-"
Even before Azule could reach the general's area, the general body was already falling down. The enemies then roared louder and they started to massacre the soldiers from Desluli Kingdom.
The general was killed but it doesn't dampen Azule's spirit. Instead, he went on rampage killing more soldiers.
"AHHHHHHHH!!!"
He shouted from his lungs to heighten his spirits. While he was on a killing rampage, more soldiers surrounding him as Desluli's soldier can't even survive the war.
Meanwhile, the mercenaries had been surrounded and still fighting their way out since they sensed that the army were losing. They don't want to die and thus the mercenaries and the armies were separated far.
Bai, who was at the middle of the mercenaries was fighting too but not to escape. He keeps fighting to train himself. He didn't bother anyone from his side or enemy side. He just blindly slaughter every enemies he encountered.
On Bai's face, there lies a smile. He enjoyed the fight that had the thrilled in it but then, he heard a scream calling his name not far from him. He recognised that voice and immediately rushed there, hoping to reach in time....
"Bai!!!"
Bai saw Azule, his new war comrade fighting for his life while running toward him. Azule ran as fast as he could to Bai and deflect the attack that came from behind.
"It looks like this will be our last stand, my friend."
"It seems you are right. If we are gonna die, let's fight till the end then."
"Let's go! "
""AHH!!! ""
Both Azule and Bai went straight to the enemy with new determination. To defeat the army in front of them. Even if they have no chance, at least dying while fighting is the greatest honor for them. That's what they thought.

In reality...I never knew the smell of blood was too staunching for me. It's smell spread through out the battlefield while I am defending my only friend.
"Azule!!!"
I saw Azule was surrounded by the enemy's soldiers. I can't even control my own power and that's why I joined this war with the intention to train myself but war was never a good place. Even if the intention is pure, no one can survive in a war....
"No!!!"

Azule saw Bai coming to him while he kept on deflecting his enemies attacks. The assault from the enemies keeps on coming without stopping. Sweat drenched his armor but still he kept on gritting his teeth.
He kept on fighting for his friend, comrade in arms, the boy that never showed his smile even though he should have been with his family....
All thoughts appeared as the flashback with Bai keep repeating as he noticed it. He was already stabbed by the side.
"So, it came from my blindspot..."
Azule fell down as Bai running towards him, killing the enemy. He looked like almost crying. He felt bad for him and felt down with this to the ground. It was a sound that destroyed Bai as he gets closer to Azule's body.
"H-Hey...Azule? Wake up. We are still at the warzone."
Bai fervently shakes the dead body but to no avail. The body went cold after all and the enemy had also kept increasing, circling Bai from every position.
"A-Azule, you said you are not gonna leave me behind...h-hey..."
Bai's mind still refused to believe it until he saw Azule's face. The small smile that still on his face when he smiled at Bai during his last moment...that reality snapped him.
"Argh....AHHHHHHH!!!!!"
Rage consumed him. Dark aura seeping out. The enemy watching this saws imminent danger and thus rushed at him.
Unfortunately, it was to no avail. Even though Bai been stabbed, he stood up and took the sword that stabbed him and dragged the enemy closer before dismembered the head for the body.
Plup. A single sound created as the head fell down. Bai immediately went towards another and do the same. With enraged feelings, he went on killing spree while also released intense killing intent throughout the battlefield.

At this moment, Rei sensed Bai's turbulence feelings and appeared beside him. She went shocked as what appeared in front of her was nothing but endless heads that had been separated for the body. It was a gruesome scene for others but not for her.
She went ecstasy, feeling enjoyable as she saw Bai standing, alone on the peak of the body. With blood smeared on his face, Rei felt that the scene was too cool.
She faced Bai and confront him. What she saw there was just an empty Bai. Bai that had devoid of his feelings. She touched his face before wiped a bit the blood on his cheeks.
"Are you still not done?"
Bai, still panting after making a mess with killing everything at his sight finally regained his mind after Rei's soft voice and word.
"I-I...how..."
His mind went lost. Wandering from normal and insanity. Rei sensed this and hugged him, intending to bring him back.
"Bai, you are not lost in the void. Even if someone's close to you die, you just need to focus on what you need to do. Don't waver and keep on moving. Don't lose hope on the dead future..."
Rei's whispered to his ear slowly while slowly calming him down, reducing his insanity a little bit.
Bai, as he heard Rei's went teary eyed. Tears started falling as he slumped to the ground.
"What should I even do now...I lost yet another good friend..."
"Do what you need to do. Never fall back, never look back."
Rei keep on encouraging the slumped Bai as words were sent to his ear gently. He resolute himself as he tried to stand up and gained his foothold.
"..."
Both of them went silent for a while, as Bai looked up and Rei stared at him. Bai jumped down from the pile of corpses and went to his only dead friend. He silently touched the cold body.
"Azule, I will remember your words and move on. This life might be offering something more than just hope to me."
With the word 'hope, lingering in his memories, he goes on. Leaving behind the regrets and indecisiveness within him and move on towards the next area where his very existence is gonna question...
