Eternity stares at the golden, bubbly liquid inside a glass.
He feels he knows the name, and yet it escapes him at present. Sometimes it is hard to keep track of an infinite amount of knowledge.
"No champagne?" The service girl asks.
Eternity snaps his fingers. "Ah, yes, that is what it was. It escaped me briefly."
The Egoless of Time takes a glass as he smiles at her. "You are very insightful, young Whitney. Your husband is going to love that about you."
The service girl is surprised by his words. But after a moment, she brushes them off as the mild chauvinism of a stranger.
"Well, thank you for that, sir." She smiles politely. "Please, enjoy your evening."
As she walks away, Eternity quirks his brow.
It takes him a while to put together why she might be offended at his words.
"Such a complex thing, language is… I wonder if my time here will have any more instances like this one."
He doesn't even need to think about the answer. He can already see that he will.
