Bathed in the Prophet's radiance, Charles's mind immediately snapped to clarity. He glanced at Lily beside him, her face still adorned with a blissful smile, and a cold sweat broke out over his body.
What is wrong with me? How could I have stayed in such a dangerous place for so long?
Still shaken, Charles stood by the window, looking at the people outside. The thought that the same smile on their faces had just been on his own sent a chill down his spine.
What on earth is going on here? Could that big tree have an aura like 1002's?
But Charles had no time to ponder any of that. He whirled around, rushed back to the bed, and grabbed Lily.
"Lily, wake up! Tell your mouse friends to get the whole crew back! We have to leave—right now!" Charles gripped Lily, shaking her relentlessly.
"Mr. Charles, just wait a second… let me nap first," Lily murmured, rubbing her eyes with her tiny paw, her own eyes still heavy with sleep.
