And then, oh so naturally, he reaches over the table and wipes the sauce off Gianna's cheek with a napkin. My daughter grins, accepting the care as if this is a normal occurrence. She's not an aloof kid, but she's not easily friends with strangers; even Keith took a few tries before she allowed him to play with her. But Giovanni? The little girl looks to be smitten by him.
Gianna takes a few of her pineapple bits and plops them on Giovanni's pizza. "Here. You can have some more. It's so yummy if there's plenty of pineapples."
Giovanni chuckles incredulously. "Oh, you don't have t—Oh, you're so generous. Thank you." He clears his throat while he loosens his tie as Gianna adds more. By this time, I can no longer hide my laugh. Who would've thought that the Great Giovanni would bow down to a six-year-old?
