Chapter 1 - The Golden Cage of Chaos

The iron gates of Eclipse High School didn't just mark a boundary; they marked the end of the civilized world. To the public, the soaring marble arches and manicured lawns of the Oakhaven District represented the pinnacle of prestige. But inside, the air was thick with the scent of expensive cologne and the acrid sting of forbidden smoke.

On the grand stone steps, groups of students lounged in tailored blazers, flicking cigarette ash onto the pristine floor. A few feet away, a faculty member hurried past, clutching a stack of papers and staring intently at the ground. He didn't dare look up. In Eclipse High, a teacher's survival depended on their ability to be invisible.

Education was a ghost here; while a few desperate scholarship students huddled in corners over textbooks, the elite spent their hours practicing the art of debauchery.

The Fever in the Dark

Down the hall, the heavy oak doors of the private restroom swung shut, muffling the chaos of the corridor. Inside, the air was humid and frantic.

Seojun had Yoona pinned against the cold tiles, his mouth crashing against hers with a hunger that defied the school's ringing bells.

Their kiss was a war—a breathless, unstoppable collision of teeth and tongue. Yoona's hands clawed at his shoulders as he yanked his shirt over his head, muscles tensing in the dim light.

With a low growl, Seojun reached for her, his fingers fumbling with the buttons of her blouse until it slid to the floor. He didn't stop there. His hands moved to the clasp of her bra, releasing it until she stood exposed before him. He filled his palms with her weight, his thumbs grazing her skin as he watched her head fall back, a sharp moan escaping her throat. He leaned down, his lips trailing fire from her neck to her chest, kissing her skin with a possessive intensity.

Yoona's breath came in ragged gasps.

"Faster," she hissed, her hands reaching down to the waistband of his trousers. She felt the heat of him through the fabric, her touch causing him to curse under his breath. He stripped out of his pants with frantic movements, reaching into his pocket for a condom.

He didn't wait. He turned her around, her back pressing against his chest as her plaid skirt remained ruffled around her waist. He reached down, yanking her lace underwear away until there was nothing left between them. His hand reached around to her front, pulling her back against him as they moved in a fast, rhythmic desperation.

"Pull harder," Yoona gasped, her voice cracking as she clung to the marble sink.

"Don't stop."

In the silence of the bathroom, their voices were a chorus of sin, a frantic escape from the boredom of their gilded lives.

The Throne of Blood

While some sought escape in skin, others found it in suffering.

In the abandoned lecture hall on the top floor, the atmosphere was frozen. Kang Raehyun sat in a velvet chair at the center of the room, his long legs crossed, looking like a king observing a peasant. Standing behind him like silent guards were Lucas and Aria, their faces masks of bored indifference.

On the floor in front of them, a boy lay in a desperate state. His face was a map of purple bruises, and fresh blood pooled on the floor from his split lip. He had committed the ultimate sin: he had gone to the board of directors to complain about Raehyun's "tyranny." He hadn't realized that the board members were on Raehyun's father's payroll.

"He actually thought someone would listen," Aria said, checking her manicure. "How adorable."

"Should we finish it?" Lucas asked, his voice calm as if asking about the weather. "Or just let him crawl home?"

The boy on the floor looked up, coughing out a mouthful of red. He stared at Raehyun with eyes full of hate. "You think you're a god?" the boy rasped, a bloody smile stretching his face. "One day... you'll be just as desperate as me. You'll lose everything, Kang Raehyun."

The silence that followed was deafening. Raehyun stood up slowly, his shadows stretching across the floor. He didn't speak. He simply stepped forward and delivered a devastating blow to the boy's jaw. The sound of bone meeting fist echoed.

Raehyun looked down at his hand, disgusted by the red smears on his knuckles. He wiped them on the boy's own shirt.

"The difference between us," Raehyun whispered, his voice like cracking ice, "is that I own the world that's going to crush you."

They walked out of the room, their footsteps echoing in the hallway. Students in the corridor parted like the Red Sea, lowering their heads as the trio passed. No one helped the boy in the room. No one even looked in his direction.

The Arrival

Miles away, a battered taxi pulled over the bridge into Veridian City.

Han Eiryn pressed her forehead against the glass, watching the neon lights of the skyline reflect in her wide, curious eyes. Behind her, the trunk was packed with everything she and her mother owned—mostly books and old memories.

"A new start," she whispered to herself, clutching the acceptance letter to Eclipse High in her hand.

She had heard of the prestige and the excellence. She imagined marble libraries and brilliant debates. She didn't see the blood on the floor of the lecture hall or the smoke in the corridors. She didn't know that she was about to walk into a den of wolves.

As the car turned toward the elite district, Eiryn felt a shiver climb her spine. She thought it was excitement.

It was a warning.
