While everyone one was preparing for the battle soon to come, deep in greys unconscious mind he drifted towards bright red haze.
From the haze appeared a scarlet wolf with a constantly shifting transparent body.
They just stared at each other for a while before greys eyes glowed red and his life flashed before his eyes in front of only this time it felt like a infinite loop of his life to this moment and repeat over and over again.
Greys body started shapeshifting again in the waking world but as everyone was preparing for the day no one noticed.
Every rabbit was was on high alert since midnight waiting for the attack they knew was coming on this day.
While shin and zinc were guarding all the children in a very deep cave.
The foxes on the other hand were taking their sweet time calmly and slowly making their way like they weren't in a hurry.
Everyone in the eleventh burrow was on edge knowing at any moment those cunning foxes would be here.
Grey was left all alone in a room his body in a constant state of change while his eyes flickered red like a struggling flame in the darkness.
As silence was the only sound in the village greys nose twitched repeatedly. "Uugh… I… I smell… trouble coming?"
Grey slowly lifted his head winching in pain every so often from soreness and pain.
He looked around slowly trying to understand his situation but his eyes now seemed a dull yellow like all his vigor and joy was drained from his very soul as he stared out the window only to see it was noon.
A low "hmmm?" was all that he could let out as he scanned the area with his ears enhanced with his rune.
He could hear the rapid heartbeats and heavy breaths along the walls as well as the disgusting cackling as a group of foxes charged towards the rabbits wall.
They quickly fired off flames at the wall as a stair case of ice made the wall obsolete.
Two rabbits on the wall closest to the ice stairs were immediately killed by foxes on fire.
Grey unfortunately could see everything thanks to his echolocation and sound rune allowing a complete 360 view of every death, every scream and every single bone cracking. He saw and heard it all the moment he woke up.
Grey immediately fell off the bed he was on earlier crying half from the pain of his body moving and falling. Whilst the other half was seeing people he grew up with, neighbors, uncles, aunts, teachers, and friends from class all dying while fighting off an army of foxes.
Greys eyes burned a bright crimson red as flame. He clenched his teeth, he used his paws to drag himself to the door at a extremely slow pace.
After painfully crawling halfway to the door grey noticed a shining object on the other side of the room.
A strange white crystal but in greys now scarlet glowing eyes he saw traces of energy and a weird reflective haze around it.
"What the… oh? OH! I remember now he said that can help me somehow." Grey finally realized as crawled towards the crystal the seemed so far away. As he continued to listen to every battle nearby.
Karma stared at the sky seeing it turn noon every one around him was in some kind of leather armor or a metallic armor obviously made by zinc last minute.
Anyone that had a strong body or a rune had a weapon in their hands ready when a loud mass cackling erupted from the wall he knew they would attack from thanks to his rune telling him this wall was the unluckest place to be today.
He looked in the direction of the disgusting laughter but in the next moment two explosions hit the wall and a ice staircase formed instantly.
Everyone watch as not even a few seconds into the battle two rabbits died immediately in the view of all.
Many of the foxes were either making illusions or flames all around.
Even with prep time and insider information they were quickly being slaughtered left in right.
"Is… is the despair? Almost all of them are level twenty while we only have a few awakened."
A light blue paw slapped the back of his head snapping him out of his daze.
"Look around we have no time to just watch we need warrior now fight like those around you." Winter said before throwing ice needles into the fray like a gattlen gun hitting a few foxes but many illusions. She was trying hard not to hit any allies.
Karma looked around him he saw this village elder attacking a group of illusions with wooden spikes grown from the ground as a invisible claw threw him across revealing his random attacks killed a few foxes.
While blitz was fighting off two with no regard for her own safety as one of her legs were missing but slowly growing back.
His sister Daisy was healing most damages with some plants while restraining anyone she could to ease the burden on the runeless folks armed with nothing but spears and bows.
And greys mom was charging towards the fox leader to hold him off but she was out classed and out numbered the white fox quickly froze any water she summoned leaving her almost helpless as she only used quick burst of water to move and attack.
The white fox smirked as he just quietly watched the desperate rabbit struggle in front of him.
As she dodged using quick streams of water to push her out of harms way of the two fire breathing foxes. One of her water stream pushing her feet forward instantly froze making her stumbling giving the attacking foxes a opening.
They quickly took the and rapidly fired off fire balls sending he flying into a nearby tree.
She slowly climbed out shaking and gasping for air glaring at the leader. "Fight me yourself you coward!" She roared in vain.
Karma quickly joined the chaos pulling out his two sickles dashing into the fray.
His luck rune kept telling him to escape to the west but he knew deep in his heart that he couldn't live with himself if he abandoned everyone.
By infusing his lucky rune into his eyes he could see past the illusions and see the slight traces the invisible originals made he decided to quickly get rid of all the illusionists and ease everyone's burden.
He pretended not to notice the two encircling him as he pretended to dodge the illusions attacks.
After a few seconds they came in close to finish karma off but the moment they lunged forward he used their momentum against them forcing his sickles through their eyes.
They died instantly but no seemed to notice in the chaos around him.
For every fox slain came at the cost of almost twelve rabbits.
Karma saw a invisible foxes small footprints quickly approaching blitz from behind.
He dashed forward with all his might before sliding under it quickly cutting its hind heels before quickly slitting its throat as it fell in pain.
Karma and blitz just gave each other a nod of acknowledgment and thanks as they continued to fight dashing off into different directions.
The white fox slowly but elegantly approached the injured Violet "I only came in person today because my little brother got badly injured the last time I let him go wild on his own. So as a high tier three beast I'm just here to make sure you pesky third tiers don't interfere with his fun this time."
Violet stared at him in shock "if your also a level thirty beast how are you so strong?"
The white fox looked confused for a few seconds before chuckling "oh yeah! You herbivores divide all nine tiers into ten levels… jajajaja I guess in your words I would a level thirty nine."
"I've also have always been naturally more powerful than other even before I awakened what your against right now is just someone blessed be nature." The white fox said smugly staring at the injured violet.
Winter on the other hand was batting a scruffy dark orange fured fox with a crooked nose every one avoided these two powerful tier three beast realsing intense heat and cold every time they collided.
"WHERE IS HE!!! I can smell his scent on where is that grey rabbit! Tell me so I can rip him limb to limb as his home town watches!"
He shouted as he recklessly released flames with no regard for friend or foe.
But as Winter fought him she was struggling to keep his flames on her alone keep as much of his reckless attacks as she could from attacking her allies.
'TCH, what would grey do against such a reckless opponent… that idiot probably anger them more and lead them away at the expense of himself." She thought to herself.
Winter's naturally cold face let off a warm almost mocking smile. As she spoke up in a condescending tone "OH! You mean grey? Yeah that's my best friend, he even helped me find my current mate. Letting a Hare like me stay in this rabbit village was also thanks to him but, I guess i should be leaving now if I want to live till next time." She said before running away from all the fighting.
The scruffy foxes stared at her in a confused daze "WHAT DID YOU SAY!!! You know that jack ass that broke my snout! Get back here this instant so I can make you suffer in his place until I find him." Quickly followed her away not caring for the battlefield behind him.
Karma looked off in distance seeing his mate in danger and pulling a crazed enemy away hurt him in ways he couldn't understand.
All he could do was tightly clench his aching heart as he considered to attack the illusionists all around the battlefield.
