Amara's POV
I went to my room after doing the dishes and opened my laptop to revise my notes since I was transferring to a new school on Monday . I didn't want to be tag the "dumb new student" so I was sitting my ass down to study. I was not exceptionally great at studies but my grades were okay for me besides what's wrong in getting some B's and C's.
The noise coming from the next house was too much that I had to plug in my airpods. It looks like they were having a house party and I cared less. I used to attend a lot of parties when we were in Seattle with my best friend Alice. Just as I thought of her, I had a call from her.
"Hello babes!" she exclaimed excitedly as she always does.
"Ally b what's up.. are you now checking up on me ..I'm mad at you don't talk to me again" I replied playfully
"I'm really sorry Amara , Victor kept me busy and my back hurts..I wish you were here to massage me" she replied
"I understand why you are calling me !" I teased
"I'm sorry girl but wait what's that noise..are you throwing a party on your first day ?"
"Naa the noise is from the next house...they are having a house party"
"I see and why didn't you go..and have you met any hot guys yet ..are they hotter than those here?" she asked excitedly.
"Yeah I've met with one hot guy" I replied
"Really!"
"I'm kidding I only met one asshole" I laughed
"So ain't you attending the party?" she asked
"No I wasn't invited" I replied.
"It doesn't matter you can crash it " she laughed.
"I'm not doing that besides it's my neighbors party what if they notice me later?"
"That shouldn't be a problem..you can disguise yourself and imagine how fun it will be to attend a party on your first day.. girl don't miss this opportunity" she said
"I think you are right" I replied, feeling excited about it .
"So how do I do it cause mom wants us to meet them tomorrow and I can't afford messing up everything"
"just put on a hoodie or something and change your look" she replied.
"okay I'm doing this!" I replied
"That's more like you .. give me an update after. bye" she said and hanged up.
I dressed up quickly and sneaked out of my house. I didn't want mom to find out about me attending the party since she might make a fuss out of it . I wore a pair of high waist Jeans and placed on a crop sweat hoodie. I didn't apply makeup, just a little mascara and lip gloss. I stepped out of my house making sure nobody recognized me and headed towards my neighbors house. The party had already started since people were in their bikinis and others were making out at vantage points. I saw a guy who was sitting somewhere alone, drinking and decided to approach him, ignoring all the stares .
"Hi can I sit ?" I asked pointing to the seat next to him.
"Yeah.. I've not seen you before are you one of Ivan's friends?" He asked and I guessed the host might be Ivan.
"Yeah I nodded and sat done.
"Cool I'm Eric" he said offering me a glass of wine.
"Thanks ..I'm Amara" I replied and just after, I realized I made a mistake. My identity wasn't supposed to be revealed but I just did fuck.
"Nice name Amara..do you want to go inside and have fun?" he asked.
"Sure " I said sipping on my drink.
We went inside and just as Eric said it was more fun. He lead me to the drink cup table and there was a challenge ongoing. We stood there to watch and I actually enjoyed the competition. The guy opposite me was good and he was the one winning. He drunk the last shot and everyone including me cheered. He raised up his head and our gaze met. He had hazel eyes and it was as if he was looking right into my soul. "How can someone be this perfect!" I thought staring at his masculine figure and curly hair.
"Do you want to challenge?" he said in his hoarse voice which sounded familiar. He actually looked familiar but I couldn't recall where I met with him.
"Who ? Amara?" Eric interrupted
"Do you think you will win?" I said being full of myself.
"Why don't you see for yourself" he replied with a smirk.
"Cool " I replied and moved towards the table. This wasn't the first time I was having a drink cup challenge but I wasn't sure I could beat him.
"wow! " Eric cheered and we started on his count. I could hear Eric cheer for me so I thought I was winning. I finished the last shot and raised my head only to find the hazel eyes boy staring at me.
"congratulations..you lost!" he said with a smirk and went to sit down on a nearby couch.
"You should have gone easy on her man!" Eric said.
"I don't involve emotions in my competitions" he said proudly and poured himself a wine.
Eric led me to where the hazel eyes boy was seated. Around him were a few group of people. They were five if I counted right.
"sit here Amara" Eric offered me a seat causing me to be in between him and the hazel eyes boy. He assessed me from head to toe and tried to take off my hoodie. I held his hands from touching it and" threw" it down.
"I didn't give you the permission to touch me" I said
"I wanted to have a better view of your face..it looks like I've seen you somewhere" he said and I immediately recalled where. He was the guy from the mall. That asshole ! I thought and rolled my eyes. "why did he have to be hot" I thought again and focused my attention on something else.
"why don't we play suck and blow!" The hazel eyes boy suggested, still staring at me.
"That's cool !" one of the ladies cheered. she had blonde hair and was actually pretty. "why was she excited though" I thought looking at the people sitting next to her.
"let's begin from James" Eric said and they started. It was fun as for some the paper blew leading to a kiss and others disappointed that the paper didn't blow off. It was soon my turn. The hazel eyes boy leaned closer and I tried my best to suck but the wind wasn't for me. The paper blew and our lips touched. I glared at his flirty look and suck on the paper with Eric. We played the game for a couple of times, each time ending up kissing the hazel eyes boy.
I had a few drinks in between and started to feel a little bit tipsy. There is no way I'm getting drunk here I thought and stood up to walk around. I tripped immediately I stood up and landed on the hazel eyes boy.
"I'm sorry" I said and quickly got up.
"Do you need company?" he asked and I shook my head in response.
