Amany and Bella remained in each other's arms on the bed. Looking out the window, one couldn't even see the sun—night had already fallen, and the women could do little but complain of hunger.
They were famished, hungry in a way that almost defied words.
Irina, who had stepped out of the room just to ask for dinner to be prepared, returned with water for the other two women.
They were tired, yet satisfied with everything they had done moments before.
"It'll take about half an hour for dinner to be ready; Dominica will come let us know when it's time," Irina said, carrying two glasses and a pitcher of water.
She poured water into one glass and handed it to Bella first, then did the same for Amany.
"We can hold out for half an hour," Bella remarked between sips.
Amany nodded; despite the hunger, she wanted to take a shower first.
She watched Irina—who was gazing intently at the two of them—and smiled. She loved that sense of intimacy and familiarity.
"Come here, Irina..."
