As soon as he stepped into the tent, Kyren carefully lowered his wife onto the floor, where thick blankets had been spread across the layered ground covers beneath the shelter.
Anna shivered as she settled onto the softness, resting her head against a folded cloth serving as a cushion.
"Wait a moment. I'll warm you up quickly," Kyren said.
Without wasting time, he removed his outer garments, leaving only his braies, before returning to her side. Gently, he helped her into a sitting position, his fingers moving to loosen the ties of her dress.
"Kyren… the knights are right outside," Anna murmured, flustered by his actions.
"Your body is still cold, and you're exhausted," he explained calmly. "The quickest way to warm you while you rest is to keep you close and share body heat beneath the blankets."
His gaze softened as he added, "Don't think about anything else. Just focus on resting, all right?"
Unable to argue, Anna gave a small nod and allowed him to continue.
