Millie: It was nice talking to you girls, I'll... Go get assigned to a shelter now.
After talking with the Higanbana girls, Millie got up from the tree and left to get assigned to a shelter.
Natsuki: Sigh~ So? What do we do now?
Yuuka: We could probably help around the camp, we have nothing else better to do anyways.
Chikao: That sounds like a good idea.
Miku: Agreed.
Natsuki: It's decided then, let's go help out.
Sachi: Um... How exactly?
Shino: We could ask Kotori-san, or maybe approach one of the Council members.
A few minutes later~
After a bit more talking, the Higanbana girls all got up and went to the staff room to volunteer on helping around the camp.
Robecca: Oh it's you girls.
There they found one of Kaneki's teachers; Robecca the Robot.
Robecca: What is your purpose on coming here?
Sachi: We came here to help out!
Robecca: Help out?
Natsuki: Yeah. We don't really have anything to do... So.
Robecca: Hm... I understand, I'll notify Atsuo and Kotori. Sit over there and wait for me.
All 6: Thanks.
Following Robecca's instructions, the Higanbana girls sat down and waited for her to come back which didn't take too long.
Robecca: Hey girls, I've notified Atsuo and Kotori and they'll allow you girls to help.
Chikao: Nice!
Yuuka: So where can we help out?
Robecca: You girls can help out with farming, we don't know how long our rations would last so we'll have to grow our food as well.
All 6: Um...
Robecca: Don't worry, all you girls need to do is till the soil and place some seeds. Once your done we'll try finding you a different task to help out in.
With an easy task given to them, the Higanbana girls were quick to accept.
All 6: We can do that!
Robecca: Good. Once you leave this room ho straight and then a right and straight again and you'll see that farm land we're working on.
A few minutes later~
Shino: We're here!
After reaching the soon to be farm, the Higanbana girls looked around to see some other people working there as well.
Including some familiar faces.
Keiko: Heyy~!
Itsuki: You girls are here to work too?
Itsuki and Keiko were there helping out as well.
Yuuka: Oh? You two are here to help as well?
Keiko: Yup! The Council were looking for volunteers since some of the agents left last night.
All 6: What?!
The Higanbana girls were surprised hearing that some agents had left.
Itsuki: we did ask Kotori-san about it, and she said "We're looking for more survivors and even if it's just a few, we'll have to save them no matter what" she's very much determined to save as many people as possible.
Sachi: Wow. Ai-chan really said that?
Keiko: Yeah and she had a very serious face too.
Miku: Well... Can't really blame her, we as well as Onee-chan lost Onii-chan. She probably doesn't want others to experience the same pain.
Miku said a saddened tone in her voice.
Miku: Ahem! Anyways! Let's get to tilling!
She then went to the huge patch of soil that will soon be used as a vegetable garden.
Natsuki: You all heard Miku! Let's get to work!
All 6: Got it!
Her friends quickly followed, and so they began preparing the garden.
Kaijira: Groan~
All while Kaijira was watching nearby.
An Hour later~
All 8: Finally! Done!!!
After an hour of tilling the soil as well as placing seeds and watering them, The Higanbana girls and Itsuki and Keiko had finally finished their task.
Chikao: Haaa~! That was so tiring!
Shino: At least we're done now!
Yuuka: Let's sit down.
With their task now done the Higanbana girls sat down at the edge of their newly made field for the farm.
Itsuki & Keiko: We're going to get some water!
While Itsuki and Keiko left.
Sachi: Haa~! That was so exhausting! My legs are burning!
Yuuka: Really? Didn't we run like 200 kilometers though?
Sachi: That was when we had Kaneki's armor! If we done it without his armors we definitely would've fainted!
Natsuki: Hehe~ Sachi is right, even though we fought very well. Kaneki's armors did boost our performance.
Miku: Yeah that's undeniable, because let's be honest we're not that physically strong.
Chikao: Unless it's against Kaneki, I mean we did beat him up once.
Miku: Yeah... Onii-chan really let himself get hurt by us....
Without realizing it, the Higanbana girls had started talking about Kaneki which made them a little depressed.
Shino: Sigh~ We really miss Kaneki.
Natsuki: Yeah... If only we could see him one more—
Swoosh~!
All 6: SO COLD!!!
Before Natsuki could finish conveying her wish, she alongside her friends were suddenly hit by an ice cold wind.
Yuuka: W-Why did it suddenly became cold?!
Natsuki: It isn't even winter yet!
Groan~
All 6: !!!
Upon hearing a gentle groan coming from behind, the Higanbana girls slowing turned their heads towards the back and saw.
Kaijira: Groan~
Kaijira standing over them.
All 6: Kaijira?!
They instinctively moved away from Kaijira in a panic while he just stood there staring at them.
Miku: W-When did he get here?!
Yuuka: The better question is why is he here?
Not knowing why Kaijira approached them, the Higanbana girls raised their guard.
Kaijira: Stare~
Natsuki's thoughts*
(Wait is he looking at the garden?)
Kaijira seemed interested in the Garden and taking note of this, Natsuki asked Kaijira
Natsuki: Um... Are you looking at the garden?
Kaijira: Groan~
But obviously he cannot talk so there was no response.
Chikao: You do know he cannot talk right?
Natsuki: Yeah... I didn't know—
Glow~
All 6: Eh?
Out of nowhere Kaijira's eyes glowed red as well as his dorsal plates going from the back of his neck to his tail.
Crack!
With all of the dorsal plates now glowing green, the plate at the very top of the tail grew out.
Crack!
And another grew in front of it.
Crack!
Slowly each and every dorsal plate grew out.
All 6: !!!
Miku: EVERYONE GET OUT OF HERE!
Knowing very well that Kaijira was about to do a breath attack, the Higanbana girls ran away from the field.
Yuuka: I thought he was harmless!
Chikao: Is he trying to destroy our hard work?!
They immediately started to fear Kaijira and upon getting a bit far, Natsuki looked back.
Natsuki: Eh?
Upon looking back Natsuki stopped in her tracks and stared at Kaijira.
Natsuki: Guys wait!
All 5: Natsuki?!
Seeing Natsuki just standing there, her friends grew concerned.
Shino: Why are you stopping?!
Sachi: Yeah we have to get out of here!!!
Natsuki: I don't think he's doing something dangerous.
All 5: Are you crazy?!
Natsuki: Just look.
They then looked back towards their field and saw something unbelievable.
All 5: What?
Burst~
Kaijira was breathing out a green flame from his mouth and to the Higanbana girls shock.
Grow~
The seeds that they had planted began growing at a surprisingly fast pace.
Miku: Wait what??? How is that possible?
Yuuka: Maybe his breath attacks have different uses depending on what color glows?
Natsuki: That does sound possible, maybe that cold wind we felt earlier was from him as well?
Chikao: But why is he doing this?
Yuuka: Who knows.
Kaijira: Groan~
Tilt~
Kaijira had finished growing all of the vegetables and began staring at the Higanbana girls again.
All 6: ...
They stared back not knowing what to do.
Kotori: So what's going on over here?
All 6: Kotori-san/Ai-chan/Onee-chan?!
Kotori suddenly appeared behind them.
Sachi & Miku: Ai-chan/Onee-chan! Kaijira ju—
Kotori: Oh perfect. I was looking for him.
She then took out a large metal syringe out of her pocket.
Miku: W-What are you doing with that?!
Kotori: Well we're studying Kaijira as of right now and we've learned about certain things he can do— why are the plants already grown?
Shino: Kaijira did that.
Hearing Kaijira being the reason the vegetables were now fully grown, Kotori was shocked.
Kotori: ... Ahem!
But she immediately went back to explaining.
Kotori: Again. We've learned certain things he can do, which now include that, we're going for the next phase. DNA testing.
Yuuka: For what purpose?
Kotori: Well we don't really know what Kaijira is, Kaigon thinks he is a Kaiju. Which is impossible since his kind were already extinct for two years, and some of us think he's a new Beast Knight made by Kaneki which sounds very unlikely.
Yuuka: I see. So if you find what what he is it could probably help with dealing with the Devils of the Fallen?
Kotori: Correct. Kaijira is the only one able to actually damage them so if we find out what he is it would be of great help. And I could probably even implement his DNA into myself so I would actually be able to fight or kill them.
Natsuki: Hold on what? Isn't that dangerous?
Kotori: Many lives are at stake... I'm willing to do anything to save everyone, even if it means tearing open this body of mine.
With how desperate Kotori was getting, the Higanbana girls could see Kotori resembling Kaneki.
All 6: ...
Kotori: Well. Excuse me.
She passed through the Higanbana girls and began approaching Kaijira.
Kotori: Hello there Kaijira-kun~
Kaijira: ???
She hid the syringe in order to not possibly spook Kaijira.
Kotori: Just stand still~
She slowly took out the syringe trying not to reveal it.
Kaijira: GROOAAAAR!
But for a split second Kaijira caught a glimpse of the syringe and was immediately startled.
Thump!
Kotori: Wait!
Thump!
Kaijira began running away from Kotori which caught everyone off guard.
Kotori: I NEED YOUR DNA!
Kotori then chased after him leaving the Higanbana girls in disbelief of what just had happened.
Miku: No way... Is that really the same Kaiju from yesterday?
Sachi: Haha~ Yeah. Even though he fought against many more scary monsters, he's afraid of a small needle haha~!
Natsuki: ...
Shino: What is it Natsuki?
Natsuki: Nothing.
Yuuka: Welp. Let's go back to that robot woman, we'll the day is still long and have to do more things to help.
Chikao: Yeah let's go.
With their task now done and Kaijira and Kotori gone, the Higanbana girls started walking to get more task from Robecca.

However Natsuki saw something that felt off.
