Kotori continues to pursue Kaijira to get a sample of his DNA but hadn't realized that she and him were practically running around the middle of the camp.
The evacuees nearby were mostly left speechless at the ridiculous display.

In desperation Kotori used her demonic speech to try and force Kaijira to stop, but to her surprise.
Kaijira: Groan~
Kotori: IT DIDN'T WORK?!
Her demonic speech hadn't affected him in the slightest and he continued to run without any problem.
Kotori: GAAAAAAAH!
Kotori was already getting more frustrated as she continued to chase after the the giant dinosaur-like creature.
Thump!
Swoosh!
Kaijira took a sharp turn and ran towards the river where he was supposed to be resting at.
Kotori: Oh no you don't!
And Kotori quickly followed.
Thump! Thump!
Seeing that Kaijira was about to cornered filled Kotori with confidence.
Kotori: YOU'RE MI—
Swoosh!
Kotori: Eh?
However that confidence was replaced with shock as Kaijira stopped in his tracks before jumping twice his body height by the waters edge.

Kotori: ...
Because she hasn't stopped in time, Kotori had accidentally ran and plunged into the water.
Kotori: ...

After emerging from the water, Kotori looked behind her to see Kaijira who just landed again staring at her.
Kotori: Eh?
Kaijira: Groan~
Though Kaijira was groaning the tone in his groaning as well as the look on his face was that of amusement.
Kotori: Are you enjoying this?
Curiously Kotori took out the Syringe again and to her surprise, Kaijira didn't actually acted scared.

After getting a good laugh(?) Kaijira went into the river and grabbed Kotori on the back of her school uniform using the beak on the very front of his mouth and took Kotori out of the water.

Kotori: Geez... Thanks. But now I need to get cleaned and change clothes... Sigh~
Kotori was exhausted losing her little brother, trying to manage the Council to protect the people of the world and finding ways to counter the Devils of the Fallen was so much for her.

But she did surprisingly enjoyed the chase with Kaijira.

Being desperate Kotori begged Kaijira even though she wasn't sure if he could understand her.

Kaijira layed down on the ground seemingly allowing Kotori to do what she wanted.
Kotori: Okay. This will just be a few seconds so bear with it okay?
Kotori moved around the massive body until she got to the front left leg and pointed the syringe towards it.

(Wait a minute can this needle even penetrate through??)
Before Kotori could proceed she remembered how Kaijira didn't even received a single scratch in his battle from the previous day when he fought the Devils of the Fallen.
So she began to doubt her plan because if they can't penetrate his tough hide, a normal syringe couldn't.
Kaijira: ...
Kotori: Maybe I'll just take your sali—
Shift~
Kotori: Huh? What?
As she began contemplating on taking his saliva, the scales on the leg Kotori chose began to move out of the way.
Kotori: Fascinating...
Seeing that the scales were similar to that of dragons moving to make a circle of soft tissue was fascinated Kotori.
Kotori: Alright let's do this.
Pierce!
As she drived the syringe into the soft tissue, she began extracting Kaijira's blood.
Kotori: Just a few more... Done!
Kotori had successfully extracted 500ml of Kaijira's blood.
Kotori: Good! We'll unlock your secrets and this might help us get our nomral lives back... Thank you Kaijira-kun.
Kaijira: Groan~
Kotori: Oh who am I kidding? You don't understand me at all. Welp! Better get cleaned up!
Kotori left Kaijira now that her objective was completed.

And he began to wonder around the camp.

Outside of their shelter was Shiro who was just sitting on a chair staring up at the sky with a depressed expression.

Hachi: You guys wanna talk?
Most of the adults in their shelter had came and sat together aside from Mizutani Katsuki and Satsuki as they were busy volunteering in helping around the camp.
Shiro: ... To think our normal lives would be destroyed in a single day.
Yuuki: Yeah... I feel bad for everyone in this camp, and everyone around the world.
Hachi: Everyone is losing their loved ones... And they don't have a chance on fighting back...
The three women were feeling hopeless as the world was ending around them.
Genta: C-Calm down please. We have to keep on hoping right?
Jin: Yeah! We have a Kaiju who can harm those monsters on our side! And just earlier Kotori-chan took his DNA and it might help us survive!
The two men tried to lighten the mood by giving them hope, however they couldn't feel such hope.
Yuuki: But is that really enough? Even if Kotori-chan could make clones of that Kaiju there's no guarantee that she'd be able to control them.
Shiro: And if she somehow gets it's powers by using that DNA could she even keep herself sane?
Hachi: Sigh~ I don't want to think about it...

The two men fell into silence hearing their hopeless words.

???: Hahaha~! Again! Again!
All 5: !!!
Their silence was soon disturbed by the sound of children laughing and having fun.

Hachi: Children?
Hearing the playful sounds of children, the three women got up from their seats as well as the two men.
They followed the loud laughs towards the back of their shelter to see.
All 5: Isn't that?!

They saw many children playing around Kaijira.
His body had been completely modified seemingly for the purpose of letting kids play on him .
The dorsal plates that ran from the nape to tip of the tail were gone leaving a smooth surface perfect for sliding, the jagged scales replaced with large thick scales shaped and positioned like climbing stones.
Child 3: Hey! Kaiju-san!
Kaijira: ???
A child fearlessly approached Kaijira with a smile on her face and made a request.
Child 3: Please roar!
Kaijira: ???
Sadly though, because Kaijira couldn't understand anything the kid was saying he just stared at her with a confused look.
Child 4: Kaiju-san doesn't understand what we say! But it's alright! He wants us to play on him!
Child 3: Boo~ I wanted to hear him roar...
Kaijira: !!!
All 5: Huh?
The adults noticed how the look Kaijira was giving the young girl changed from confusion to that of understanding.
Kaijira: Huff~! GROOOOOAAAAAAR!
After breathing in some air, Kaijira let out a loud yet short roar surprisingly everyone in the camp.
And as for the children they were very overjoyed.
The Children: HE ROARED! SO COOL!
Child 3: Did you roar for me Kaiju-san?
Kaijira: Groan~
Child 3: Hehe~ Thank you!
Seeing the child in front of him smiling, Kaijira had a look of satisfaction all over his eyes.
Reach~
Kaijira moved his massive front right leg with one of his claw pointing towards the girl.
Rustle~
And the way he gently moved the claw over the young girl's hair was like he was stroking her hair.
All 5: !!!
The five adults watching this scene couldn't help but see something familiar with Kaijira.
Jin: Hey is it just me or... Do you guys see what I'm seeing?
Shiro & Genta: Yeah...
Yuuki: Doesn't that Kaiju...
Hachi: He resembles Kaneki...
Seeing Kaijira stroke the young girl's hair reminded them of Kaneki.

They all recalled a memory that they all shared.
It was a normal day back when Kaneki, Sachi, Shino, Yuuka and Miku were playing the playground.
It was a free day for all of them so Shiro, Genta, Yuuki, Jin and Hachi alongside Atsuo and Aiya were watching the five of them play.

The scene shifted to a moment where Kaneki hugged and stroked Miku's head after she had won a game.

The five of them couldn't watch anymore as it wasn't just the resemblance they were seeing.

Hearing the word Shimotsuki fully awakened the Beast Knights as they all collectively asked the same question in a panic.
All 9: Where's Kaneki/Young Kaneki?!
They had forgotten that Kaneki had been killed and so Ku-kun, Kaigon and Hegon had to remind them.

Kamakura: DAMNIT! WE COULDN'T PROTECT HIM AGAIN!
Yanma: But how is Shino and the others?
Mo-chan: Yeah! Are they...
Hegon: Those girls~ though it doesn't look obvious, they~ are still grieving~
Batta: Atsuo... What about him?
Kaigon: He's dedicating himself in helping the Council. You could imagine how losing his son and previous wife would feel.
Batta: TOHRU IS GONE TOO?!
Batta was very shocked and devastated now she knows that both Kaneki and Tohru as well were gone.
Heikei: Where are we?
Kaigon: We are currently resting in the staff room of the evacuation camp, and a lot has happened since you nine were unconscious.
Kaigon told them about the attack on the evacuation convoy as well as Kaijira.
Takoyaki: A Kaiju? That's impossible.
Dagon: No offense but your kind was exterminated a long time ago.
Miracle: Yeah... How did a Kaiju appear and fight?
Ryugon: Another Beast Knight perhaps? Ones like the three of us?
Hegon: It's a possibility. However~ we aren't sure how he was able to kill those monsters~
After giving their explanation, Batta got closer to Kaigon and asked.
Batta: Where is this Kaiju now?
She wanted to see Kaijira herself.
Kaigon: We heard he's currently residing in this very camp in smaller form.
Ku-kun: We haven't looked at him ourselves because we helped Atsuo-san, Kotori and Aiya-san the entire time.
Batta: I see, bring me to "him".
Ku-kun: ... You want to see what makes him special, senpai?
Batta: Yes... If this Kaiju you three talked about is as powerful as you say he is and if he is truly on our side. We must know more about him
Takoyaki: I agree with Batta.

Kaigon: Alright. We'll go if any of you are unable to move or aren't comfortable please continue to rest here.
Kaigon was fine with showing Kaigon to the rest of the Beast Knights.
Dagon: Let's see what this Kaiju looks like.
Miracle: I'll go check up on Miracle.
Yanma: Yeah I'll go see Shino as well.
Heikei & Mo-chan: And I'll see Yuuka/Miku...
The insects were more concerned about their friends than Kaijira so they refused.
A few minutes later~

???: Woah they're so small compared to yesterday.
Most of the Beast Knights left the Staffroom and started heading towards where Kaijira was while the four insects went to their friends.
On their way they immediately caught the attention of the evacuees as they were easily recognizalble and they were the size of small dogs.
Batta: So Ku-kun how are your injuries?
Ku-kun: Well I'm still missing one of my mandibles but it doesn't hurt anymore. However I still feel very weak.
Kamakura: ... Same here, damnit I really hate this weakness.
Ku-kun: Wait you know what this is?
Ku-kun asked in confusion.

Not wanting to explain himself, Kamakura turned to his sisters.
Dagon: We Beast Knights have a very strong connection to the Demon Knights that gave their blood to us. Before Me, Takoyaki and Kamakura here officially became Kaneki's we were once Tohru's.

As the Beast Knights were approaching Kaijira's area they could hear the cheerful laughs and voices of children.
Batta & Kamakura: Huh?
Both Batta and Kamakura were caught off guard by this as children being cheerful wasn't what they expected after they experienced a tragedy.
They got closer to the river and saw what was happening.

Child 1: I'm the Pirate King!
Child 2: No it's me!
Child 1: Let's fight then to see who's the real Pirate King!
Kaijira was in the middle of the river as children were playing in the water and on his back.

And from the looks of it, he was also enjoying it as well.
Batta: ... Is his really the same Kaiju that you three encountered yesterday?
Kamakura: YEAH! IT LOOKS LIKE A SOFTIE!
Both Batta and Kamakura were disappointed at the sight, they were glad the children were happ. However seeing how gentle Kaijira looked they can't believe that he was capable of actually killing the Devils of the Fallen.
Batta: I'm outta here, this was a waste of time.

Kaigon: It's alright young Kuwagata, they're still upset give them time.
