Miku: Sigh~
Miku was getting ready to go to school when she felt a bit down.
Miku's thoughts*
(It's still hard to believe I was put under a spell this entire time.)
She still hasn't moved on from learning the truth about the feelings she had that caused her to unintentionally hurt Kaneki ever since the entrance ceremony.
Miku: Well it's not like I can do anything about it now.
But Miku knows there's nothing she can do about it and to cheer herself up—
Miku: I should see Onii-chan before I leave.
So after getting changed to her school uniform, Miku walked to Kaneki's room to pay him a visit before leaving.
Knock! Knock!
Miku: Hey Onii-chan, I know you can't respond but I'm coming in.
Creak~
She gently opened the door and entered Kaneki's room.
Meanwhile~ At the front gate*
Sachi: Yo! Good morning Shino.
Bow~
Shino: Good morning Sachi.
Sachi and Shino greeted each other I'm front of the Higanbana house's gate as they waited for Kotori and Miku.
Sachi: So... Did you tell your parents about the new stuff we learned?
Shino: Nod~ Yeah, they were relieved to know that I hadn't truly fallen in love with someone like him and nothing bad has happened.
Sachi: Eh? What's that supposed to mean?
Shino: I don't know. But I still got scolded haha~
Sachi: What? Why would your parents scold you?
Shino: You know... How I didn't properly faced Kaneki and apologized to him sooner?
Sachi: Oh~ and also that you stayed beside that trash for quite awhile despite learning what you had done.
Shino: Yeah that. Mom said "You'll have to explain things clearly to Kaneki and apologize properly this time" and Dad said more or less the same thing.
Sachi: Ohh~ well that's good at least your parents are less disappointed in you now.
Shino: Haha~ Yeah... Hey isn't Miku taking a longer time than usual? She should be out here by now.
Sachi: Now that you mentioned it, she is running late to our usual meet up. Maybe she overslept?
Slam!
Shino & Sachi: !!!
Before the two could continue discussing what they think Miku's reason for being late was.
The door from the Higanbana house slammed open so hard and quick it made a loud sound that surprised Shino and Sachi.
Shino & Sachi: What was that?!
Swoosh!
Kotori: Shino-chan! Sachi-chan!
Kotori then appeared on top of the wall with her eyes glowing as she was visibly very happy.
Shino: W-What's going on?
Sachi: Are you okay Ai-chan?
Kotori: Yes! I'm doing fine, listen you two come in our house and into Kaneki-chan's room. NOW!
Hearing Kotori what said made them worried, but the way Kotori acted wasn't what they had expected.
Swoosh!
Kotori: YOU GIRLS CAN SKIP SCHOOL FOR TODAY! I'LL GET THE OTHERS!
She looked completely excited and had ran off to go get the others, leaving Shino and Sachi bewildered.
Sachi: Hey Shino... Didn't Ai-chan looked excited just now?
Shino: Could it be...
Swoosh!
The two realized what could be the reason why Kotori looked so excited, so they rushed into the Higanbana household.
Shino & Sachi: SORRY FOR COMING IN SO SUDDENLY!
The two of them ran upstairs and stopped right outside of Kaneki's room.
Sachi: You think...
Shino: Let's take a look and see.
Shino and Sachi both took a deep breath, before grabbing the doorknob of Kaneki's room.
Creak~
And opening the door.
Shino & Sachi: Sorry for the intru—
And upon entering the room, the two could only hold their breath and shed tears as the sight in front of them was unbelievable.
Miku: Shino-Oneechan, Sachi-Oneechan...
Miku was on her knees crying with a smile, as Kaneki's body was now in a sitting position in his bed.
Shino & Sachi: Kaneki moved?!
They both asked Miku to confirm whether he had moved or not and they got the answer they wanted.
Miku: Nod~ Yeah. I found him like earlier, Mom and Dad are telling Tohru-Mama right now.
Shino: D-Did he moved ever since you found him?
Miku: No...
Miku made a slight saddened expression as she answered, but she cheered up almost instantly.
Miku: But if he had gotten up like this then, he can definitely move again soon!
She was full of hope for Kaneki, as well as those two.
Sachi: C-Can we?
Miku: It's alright, just don't be too tight okay?
Shino & Sachi: Nod~
After getting permission from Miku, Shino and Sachi gently approached Kaneki's body and sat on both of his sides.
Hug~
And they gently wrapped their arms around him to give him a hug.
Shino & Sachi: !!!
And as they hugged him, they could feel a faint warmth from his body.
Shino & Sachi: Kaneki...
Feeling his warmth made the two emotional as they started to shed tears of joy.
Swoosh!
Natsuki, Yuuka & Chikao: KANEKI GOT UP?!
Suddenly Natsuki, Yuuka and Chikao had bursted into the room in a hurry surprising Shino, Sachi and Miku.
Natsuki, Yuuka & Chikao: KANEKI DID GOT UP!!!
Miku: Hold on how did you guys got hear so quickly?
Kotori: It's thank to your Onee-chan!
Kotori was the one who notified Natsuki, Yuuka and Chikao about Kaneki and wa steh one who brought them.
Natsuki: H-Has Kaneki got up on his own?
Miku: Yeah. He was already like this when I came in earlier.
Sachi: Here guys, you can give him a hug.
Shino: C'mon don't be afraid.
Seeing their friends being excited, Shino and Sachi let go of Kaneki so their friends could hug him as well.
After they had let go Natsuki, Yuuka and Chikao slowly approached Kaneki's body and positioned themselves beside and behind him.
Hug~
They gave him a gentle hug and shed tears of joy upon feeling his faint warmth.
A few minutes later~
They spent a few more minutes hugging Kaneki before letting go.
Yuuka: So... Are we still going to school today?
After letting go of Kaneki's body, Yuuka was curious whether they would all still go to school.
Kotori: It's alright if you girls skip school for today, I called all of your parents and told them of the situation. They all gave their approval and they all had called the school already.
Miku: But what about—
Kotori: Oh Papa and Aiya-Mama had already called the school earlier, they were alright with you skipping school for "being sick" although I'll still being going to school today.
All 6: Oh.
Kotori: I don't really mind though, anyways I'll be leaving now so take care of Kaneki-chan, okay? Well bye bye.
With Kotori telling the Higanbana girls what they needed to know, Kotori left the house and headed straight to Mato High.
Natsuki: Have you guys tried talking to Kaneki?
Yuuka: Yeah if he had moved then that would mean he is awake.
Miku: Well... I did try, but he hasn't responded to me. Onii-chan is just staring blinking.
Natsuki: Oh...
Chikao: Maybe Kaneki is unable to hear?
Yuuka: That doesn't sound good if it's the case.
Shino: Let's not think too much about it, Kaneki seems to be recovering a lot quicker.
Miku: Half of him at least.
Natsuki: Yeah... I know! Maybe if we spend more time with Kaneki he'll recover faster.
Sachi: Yeah I like the sound of that!
Yuuka: Yeah, but what can we do?
Miku: Well we have all day.
Chikao: Maybe we should go out with Kaneki?
Natsuki: We can't really do anything though?
Chikao: Well we can go for a nice walk at the park.
Natsuki: That's actually a good idea.
Miku: Let's do that then! I'll go ask Mom and Dad we got a wheel chairs form the hospital.
With a plan to go out now in mind, Miku went to her parents to try and get a wheelchair for Kaneki.
Natsuki: Let's go have some fun, Kaneki.
But while the Higanbana girls were happy that Kaneki/Azuna was recovering well.
Inside of Kaneki's mind*
Reality was a lot more cruel.
Azuna: Haa~! Haa~!
Inside of Kaneki's mind, Azuna was using all of his remaining strength.
Azuna: C'mon! Wuj kf! You sqd do it!
All to try and control of his body again after his other half disappeared.
Azuna: y ckij mqhd jxuc! qdt jubb jxuc je vydt cu!
He desperately tried gaining control.
Azuna: Y ckij mqhd jxuc! Qdt wkytu jxuc!"
But the more he used what remains of his strength to get control of his body again, the more incoherent his words were becoming.
Azuna: Haa~... Haa~...
And worse he was becoming weaker and weaker.
