Chapter 189 - Story 9 The Longest Short Bus. Chapter 66

"This... Is a massive undertaking, even if we were to get the tech priests of Mars to assist in such an undertaking." My brother and fellow Primarch Roboute Guilliman spoke with clear thought as he looked at the projected 3D hologram of the halo ring.

"This can also be scaled down as well. But this technology, this weapon most certainly has... Issues." I said slowly before I continued.

"Not only would I lock it to only you and me and using it possibly Lord Guilliman via an exhaustive list of locks both physcial and spiritual, but beyond its cost to create even for a smaller Ring. There is the Warp to consider."

Guilliman raised a perfect gene crafted eyebrow before he paused and said in realization. "The mass extinction of life would have a backlash on the warp itself woudn't it. A massive influx of souls would feed the warp and then drain it due to the lack of life in that sector later on."

I nodded before I said slowly. "Besides just that. The use of the Halo Ring's will quite literally wipe out all life within it's usage radius... What happens should the Necron's get such technology shoudn't be stated."

There was pause before he asked thoughtfully. "How scaled down can you make these little brother? How... Contained can you make these?'"

I shook my head before I said thoughtfully. "I utterly refuse to make more than one regardless of size as it would need to be firmly kept watch over by several Legions, and have great forces stationed on it. But as for size and power? It needs to be large enough to have it's own gravity field so about one tenth size at most is the farthest I could go."

Guilliman nodded before he asked with steel in his voice. "And with the smallest sized 'Halo Ring. How far would it's effects reach if it shot at max power?"

I raised an eyebrow and doing some mental math I said bluntly. "About ten light years at most. The full scale super weapon was meant to empty entire sectors of life to deal with the Orks when they reached one of their largest Waaghh's since the War in Heaven."

The later half was entirely a lie obviously but although I could control the blast radius of a Halo Ring. I didn't want Guilliman to axe the project instantly at the realization that the Halo Rings could wipe out the entire galaxy.

Guilliman gave me a look before he said. "I see... With the birth of the Prince of Pleasure it would make sense with the coming conflict and tides of the warp roiling for the Long Night. That the Orks would also be so active... Hum, then without the Mechanicus, we cannot build this frankly."

I looked at Guilliman and I said blandly. "I built my own spaceship that did not use Warp travel. I made my own version of Astartes that although lesser then true Astartes, they were genetically stable, as well as able to take aspirants of both genders. I do not need the Mechanicus to build my weapons."

There a silence as Guilliman's icy blond eye's took in my form, obviously in deep thought as he considered my words before he blinked and with his eyes closed he spoke. "You remind me another brother of mine... Though your humanity was far more close to hand compared to him."

I blinked at his words as I wondered which of his brother's he was speaking of. Vulcan? Perhaps? He was the closest to humanity and the 'kindest' after all?

"He had an unmatched ability to find the weaknesses of all things he looked at even in other people. But he was also a grand inventor, builder, and architect... If it wasn't for how our father ressurected you, I would think you a shard of my traitor brother Perturabo honestly."

"Most of the Primarch's cared little for the Mechanicus though only a couple legions were able to go without their aid for the most part. Jake, how do you plan to build this Halo Ring then if not with the Mechanicus... You alone can't build it by hand."

And there it was.

The fucking main issue right here. All AI technology was completely banned and I very much doubted Guilliman would care for the distinction between Artifical and Virtual Intelligances.

"I would build machines that would run off flash cloned brains that would have their programming and orders downloaded as they are grown. Seeing as I rightfully cannot use the abominable intelligance."

Guilliman just gave me a flat look before sighing and his armored gauntlets began rapidly clacking repeatedly on the table as he was in clear thought as he stared past me. "You are getting antsy at just sitting in the palace... You NEED something to do, especially with how father has 'blessed' you."

He finally paused and then he looked to me and said. "Jake, I want you to give me some designs for some lesser super weapons to be used against the Orks and Tyranids. I am going to have to send legions to support my brother and your aid will also be of help as you can join my brother on his campaign."

At the words... Lesser super weapon, I had a bit of a heretical thought as I considered my biomancy powers.

No matter what I did, even if I delved into the depths of my powers and got into cultivation based technology. I would still be helpless against the Chaos gods themselves... But, what if I made myself a god with my natural biomancy.

But not through some oblique grafting of chaos champions to my essense. No, in this Galaxy filled with countless horrors. There were more then war, suffering, and abominations for this plan.

A plan that would turn me into the core of a Brother Moon from Dead Space with my Pysker powers allowing me to use all the soul echoes of the flesh that made up the Brother Moon to affect the Warp.

I nodded slowly and said with steel in my tone. "Very well, I will make my preperations."
