After Two Years...

Two years passed.

For most humans, two years was not a particularly long time.

For Renesmee—It changed everything.

The little girl who had once fit comfortably within Charlie's arms now ran through the Cullen property with endless energy.

At first glance, she looked like an ordinary child around seven years old.

Perhaps a little older.

But appearances were deceiving.

Because Renesmee Cullen was only two years old.

Renesmee Cullen

That fact had slowly become a growing problem.

One that neither Bella nor Charlie could ignore.

Bella sat at the dining table one afternoon while Renesmee played outside with Biffer.

The giant hellhound had somehow become one of the girl's favorite companions.

Charlie sat nearby reading through a newspaper.

At least pretending to.

Because every few minutes his eyes drifted toward the window.

Toward his granddaughter.

Then he sighed.

Again.

Bella noticed immediately.

"Dad."

Charlie lowered the paper.

"You sighed."

"I know."

"You've done it seven times."

Charlie frowned.

"Have you been counting?"

"Yes."

The sheriff groaned.

The problem wasn't difficult to understand.

Renesmee couldn't attend a normal school.

At least not for long.

Children grew.

Slowly.

Naturally.

Renesmee didn't.

Every few months her appearance changed dramatically.

Questions would start.

Suspicions would grow.

And eventually someone would notice.

Charlie looked toward the window again.

"She needs friends."

Bella's expression softened.

Because she agreed.

Completely.

Renesmee had family.

Lots of family.

But family wasn't the same thing as having children her own age to play with.

To learn with.

To grow alongside.

Meanwhile, several miles away at Jojo's mansion, another conversation was taking place.

One that had been happening repeatedly over the last two years.

"Why do you keep avoiding her?"

Alice asked.

The question was direct.

As always.

Jojo looked up from the book he had been reading.

Across the room sat Alice, Rosalie, Inadu, Freya, and several others.

All staring.

Waiting.

He sighed.

Already knowing exactly who they meant.

"Renesmee."

Rosalie immediately answered.

Not asked.

Answered.

Everyone had noticed it.

Whenever Renesmee approached Jojo—He would step aside.

Shift position.

Avoid physical contact.

The most memorable incident had happened several months ago.

Renesmee had tripped while running through the garden.

Everyone nearby had rushed forward.

Including Jojo.

For a brief moment.

Then he stopped.

Completely.

The child had fallen.

Looked up.

And immediately started crying.

Jojo simply stared.

"...."

Later he had calmly informed everyone.

"She was faking it."

Nobody believed him.

Not even a little.

Especially because Renesmee was six at the time well according to her body growth age.

Now, two years later, the mystery remained unsolved.

Alice folded her arms.

"You've been dodging this question for years."

"Correct."

"Why?"

Rosalie narrowed her eyes.

"Inadu asked too."

Freya sighed.

"Even I don't know."

The room collectively groaned.

Jojo calmly turned a page.

Then stopped.

Because something Charlie had said earlier that week resurfaced in his thoughts.

"She needs friends."

The page remained half-turned.

Slowly—

Jojo closed the book.

Everyone immediately noticed.

That look. That expression.

The one he got whenever a dangerous idea entered his head.

"...."

Alice pointed with wide eyes.

"There it is."

Rosalie nodded her head.

"He's planning something."

Jojo ignored them.

Then suddenly spoke.

"We should start the school."

The room froze.

"...."

"...."

"...."

Inadu's eyes widened first.

Then again. Then a third time.

For several seconds she simply stared at him.

Not breathing. Not blinking.

Not moving.

Then—

"What?"

Jojo looked at her.

"The supernatural school."

Silence.

Then realization struck.

Years ago, Inadu had proposed the idea.

A place where supernatural children could learn safely.

A place hidden from the ordinary world.

A place where children like Renesmee wouldn't need to hide what they were.

A place where they could simply exist.

She had been developing plans ever since.

Designs.

Curriculum.

Security systems.

Teachers.

Magical protections.

Everything.

But actually building it?

That was another matter entirely.

And now—Jojo had finally agreed.

Inadu launched herself across the room.

Everyone else barely had time to react.

One moment she stood beside the couch.

The next—She was in Jojo's lap.

Arms wrapped tightly around him.

Jojo blinked.

Then she kissed him.

Directly.

Without hesitation. Without warning.

Without the slightest concern for the audience.

The room exploded.

Alice immediately started laughing.

Rosalie looked deeply offended.

Not because of the kiss.

Because Inadu had gotten there first.

Freya sighed dramatically.

"Every single time."

Jojo looked remarkably unsurprised considering the circumstances.

Meanwhile Inadu looked happier than anyone had seen her in years.

"You finally agreed."

For the first time, her voice carried genuine excitement.

Not the confidence of an ancient witch.

Not ambition. Not pride.

Just happiness.

Because the dream she had worked toward for years was finally becoming real.

A school.

For supernatural children.

For witches.

For werewolves.

For vampires.

For hybrids.

For every child forced to hide from the ordinary world.

And perhaps most importantly—

For a certain two-year-old girl trapped in the body of a seven-year-old child.

Far away, Renesmee suddenly sneezed.

Then looked around suspiciously.

As if fate had just made plans for her without asking permission.

Again.

During the last two years, Jojo hadn't simply been sitting around waiting for the school project to move forward.

He had been preparing.

Carefully.

Patiently.

Building foundations that most people didn't even know existed.

Because if a supernatural school was going to exist, it wouldn't merely attract students.

It would attract danger.

And Jojo had learned long ago that danger never arrived politely.

Deep beneath the future school's plans was another project.

One known only to a handful of people.

Even most of the Cullens didn't know the full extent of it.

The Contractor Program.

Over the last two years, Jojo had traveled extensively.

Meeting hunters.

Retired soldiers.

Witches.

Former supernatural victims.

Exorcists.

Even ordinary people who had proven themselves trustworthy.

Each of them had been offered a choice.

A contract.

Not a normal contract.

A Devil's Contract.

One forged through Jojo's power.

Those who accepted became connected to him through infernal energy.

Not enough to turn them into supernatural monsters.

Not enough to change who they were.

Just enough to survive in a world hidden beneath humanity.

The first gift varied.

Some gained the ability to perceive spirits.

Others could recognize magical entities.

A few could sense supernatural disturbances before they occurred.

Nothing overwhelming. Nothing world-shaking.

Just enough to see the truth hidden behind the curtain.

But the true purpose of the contract wasn't power.

It was protection.

Every contractor received a small item.

A coin.

A pendant.

A ring.

A bracelet.

Something ordinary.

Something easy to carry.

Yet each item contained a fragment of Ghost Rider's hellfire.

Dormant.

Sleeping.

Waiting.

Most people never needed it.

Jojo hoped they never would.

But if a contractor's life was threatened...

The item would activate automatically.

The moment it struck the ground—

The hellfire would awaken.

And from that infernal flame...

A guardian would emerge.

Hellspawn.

Creatures born from Ghost Rider's fire.

Not demons.

Not devils.

Something else entirely.

Each appeared differently.

Some resembled armored knights engulfed in blue hellfire.

Some emerged as skeletal wolves.

Others took forms inspired by ancient warriors.

Their appearance mattered little.

Their purpose never changed.

Protect.

That was the first command engraved into every fragment of infernal fire.

Protect the contractor.

If the threat could be eliminated safely—

They would destroy it.

Without hesitation.

Without mercy.

If the threat proved too dangerous—The mission changed immediately.

Evacuate.

Escort.

Survive.

The contractor's life always took priority over victory.

And in the worst-case scenario...

The hellspawn would create a defensive perimeter.

A ring of hellfire.

A circular wall of burning infernal flame that neither spirits, monsters, nor most supernatural creatures could cross.

Then they would wait.

Because the moment a hellspawn manifested—

Jojo knew.

No matter where he was.

No matter what he was doing.

The connection ensured it.

Alice had once compared the system to emergency beacons.

Jojo preferred another description.

Insurance.

Supernatural insurance.

One evening, while reviewing plans for the future school, Carlisle had finally asked the obvious question.

"How many contractors are there now?"

Jojo looked up from the documents.

"Three hundred and twenty-seven."

The room became silent.

Carlisle blinked.

"Three hundred?"

"Twenty-seven."

"Jojo."

"What?"

"That's an army."

Jojo thought about it.

Then shrugged.

"Not really."

Across the room, Rosalie nearly choked.

Alice started laughing immediately.

"Only Jojo would recruit over three hundred supernatural emergency responders and call it not really."

Meanwhile, Inadu looked through one of the contractor reports.

Then paused.

"Wait."

Everyone looked toward her.

She slowly raised an eyebrow.

"There are six contractors currently teaching university physics."

Jojo nodded.

"Correct."

"Three doctors."

"Yes."

"Two judges."

"Mm-hmm."

Inadu slowly lowered the report.

"How many important people have Devil Contracts?"

Jojo considered the question.

Then answered honestly.

"A concerning amount."

The room erupted into groans.

Because somehow, over the course of two years, Jojo had quietly built an international network of protected individuals without anybody fully realizing it.

And with the supernatural school finally moving toward reality...

That network would soon become one of its most important lines of defense.

Because Jojo knew something the others were only beginning to understand.

The moment the school opened its doors—

The hidden world would start paying attention.

And not all attention was friendly.
