Chapter 654 - Chapter 654: Team Hope

"DID YOU SEE THEM!? THE POSES, THE SPEECH! DID YOU SEE THAT!!?"

"I've seen it, I've seen it. If you keep reminding me it, I'm gonna start losing it-"

"IT WAS AWESOOOOOOME!!!!!"

Stolas' excitement spiked tenfold as the group left, watching the table follow behind with the mass of metal carried over. He and Applin both giggled and hopped around, trying to copy the poses they just saw, making Solomon wonder if Harvard and Zazel would've also caved upon hearing such chants and be just as overjoyed. He'd palm his face, struggling to keep himself contained without having a big smile on him for seeing such whimsy and fire within their souls, with Shady even giggling to himself as he peeked over and see them try to re-enact what they saw. "It sure was, man." He'd comment, mumbling a bit so he wouldn't be picked up by the others, though they were able to hear him and try to inch closer, smug faces to see if they can get it loud and clear. "I said it sure was! Now back off!" He'd demand, laughing as he tried to make space from them. Having to make such a massive detour meant they'd have to cross through the mid-section, and to an extent, one of the other team members.

Bonk!

"OWWW!!!" A strike right at Solomon's head, hard enough to bruise, but not enough to draw blood. Loud snickers were heard as the group were quick to see a ball rolling down. Applin was quick to pick it up and see what it was, before being snagged back and shoved away, with Stolas being pushed into and having both fall over as a response. "HEY! What's your damage, dude!?" The Biblical Sorcerer shouted, as he'd scramble his way back up, looking towards the person responsible.

A Punk-ish kid with wolf-like claws and fangs. Dirtied up by the earth, he housed a large, blue helmet on his head, which he quickly took off to show his matted hair. His eyes gleamed like sapphire as he stared down at the Sorcerer. "Oops! Should've been a bit more careful, huh? Maybe try not to get in the way of our practice, eh? Ever thought of that one, Dork?" He'd taunt, his goons behind him and snickering away, with two folks looming over with their lanky bodies and watching it go down, carrying a small girl over so she can see the scuffle. They seemed to be around Solomon's age, to which the Sorcerer was able to rise and be face-to-face with the bully.

"We were walking back to our base WAAAY off from yours. The only way we would've gotten 'close' is if you intentionally saw us and try to shoot a home run to my skull."

"And clearly, I succeeded. What's the nerd gonna do, huh? Cry to his mommy and daddy that the big, bad wolf hit yah?" His mockery would be followed up with another figure, one much smaller than the rest. A plush-like toy in blue fur with a big mouth and wide eyes, almost like a hand puppet that swung its felt-like arms around.

"Yeah, you tell 'em, Germie!" The puppet bragged. "They ain't gonna mess with Bonky and Pals! No way!"

Solomon, devilishly, decided to cast a plague and light the toy on fire, startling the enemy team and being quick on using a few water bottles they had to put it out. The toy was screaming and writhing, rolling across the ground for a few seconds, before being able to calm down, with Germie staring daggers at the Sorcerer. "THE HELL WAS THAT FOR!? BONKY DID NOTHING WRONG-"

"Oh, I'm sorry!" Solomon taunted, mimicking his voice mannerisms. "Are you gonna tell Mommy and Daddy I torched your lil' toy? Hmm? Is that what I'm hearing? Twelve year old still having baby toys with him?"

"You disrespect Bonky's name and the next dent you're gonna get in your head is with my Ball King Rocker. Understood?" His voice was snarled as he'd wind up his bat, a massive spike in energy visible across the weapon. Solomon simply reacts the same with his Codex Gigas, quickly setting up a summon to bring out a Harbinger for his transgressions.

"Don't try to mess with my family and friends then. Or has that not been bashed in your own skull yet? Lemme guess, you got dropped as a kid, didn't yah?"

"Big words coming from a geek with white hair. What, did your parents dyed it for yah so you look more 'sophisticated'? I bet your dumb, ugly broad of a mom came up with that idea."

"And I bet you weren't loved by your parents yet. That bat of yours looks mighty important! What, is that your escapism from the fact you got neglected?"

The two looked at each other with such ferocity, the intent to kill visible, as their respective friends began to pull them apart so they don't spark it to anything serious. Even Stolas thought that burning such a toy was a bit much since all he did was act as encouragement, but noticing his brother was seeing red, it was fair to assume he's not thinking straight. He noticed over that the two lanky boys were doing the same, even helping him with some water to properly calm down. As they were contemplating on ditching the whole race altogether and start scrapping, two more figures came in through the clearing, noticing the hostility and quickly dissolving it. A woman with a nun habit and red fingernails was quick on letting out a small fragrance, the smell of lavender quickly flowing to their senses. Stolas was hit harder than the others, slowly driving his consciousness out, only saved by Solomon by catching him and letting him sit down, setting up Garden of Eden to replenish his energy and check if any wounds were involved. Strangely, nothing was hurting him, simply acting as a douse to the emotional flame left behind, as the Avian gave a thumbs up before he was able to see properly.

"My, my. Children nowadays are being so rowdy for no reason. Is my little Germaine having problems with making new friends?" The woman asked, her age audible in her voice, sounding like she was 70 in a near 30 year old body, stunting the children in such tonal difference.

A man with pastor's clothing spoke up much the same, also having similar vocal issues. "We really need to keep an eye on this one. He's starting fights again, Sari." He'd scold, wagging his finger as if he was mentoring him. When the two turned around and saw the rough dent being healed, the two were quick to change places and tend to Solomon, ensuring the healing goes well and the pain gets relieved. "Terribly sorry for that. Being raised under lots of problematic children does that to the mind. My name is Matt, very nice to meet you youngin's. Would you like to be invited to our camp?" He'd ask.

The children were skeptical of him, but Matt was quick on carrying over the three and brought them in anyway, much to Germaine's annoyance.
