Chapter 180
Dafa's POV
I swung my leg over my motorbike, the engine roaring to life with a guttural growl. It wasn't the safest option, but it was the fastest. I gunned the engine and sped off, weaving through the chaotic streets, dodging panicked civilians and abandoned vehicles.
As I approached the barracks, I could see Captain Rein waiting for me, his face grim and his uniform covered in grime. He looked exhausted, but his eyes were sharp and focused.
"Major General," he said, snapping to attention as I pulled up. "Thank God you're here."
"What's the situation, Captain?" I asked, cutting straight to the chase. "Give me the rundown."
"It's worse than we thought, sir," Rein said, his voice tight with urgency. "The vines are spreading exponentially. They've breached the secondary perimeter and are heading towards the city center. We're losing ground fast."
"Casualties?" I asked, bracing myself for the worst.
