I struggled against the vine, trying to free myself, but its grip was too strong. It was pulling me back, back into the heart of the darkness.
"Laila, run!" I yelled, my voice strained. "Get out of here! Save yourself!"

Suddenly, Laila did something unexpected. She dropped her teddy bear and ran towards me, her small hands reaching for the vine that was wrapped around my arm. She started to cry, her sobs echoing in the vine-choked room.
"Please... please let her go!" she pleaded, her voice cracking with emotion. She started frantically trying to pull the vine off my arm, her small hands surprisingly strong with adrenaline.
