Amelia Miller walked out of the bedroom and leaned against the wall in the hallway to make a call to Trenton Smith.
On the other end, the man quickly picked up the phone.
"Hello?"
"Norris is already asleep." Amelia lowered her head, gazing at the faint shadows by her feet. "Can you tell me what happened between you two?"
"She didn't tell you?"
"She refuses to talk about it."
"If she's unwilling to say, then there's nothing I can do to tell you either. It's her family matter."
Amelia lifted her hand to rub her temples, her voice tinged with weariness. "Trenton Smith, can you promise me you won't hurt her? Do you have any idea how much it pains me to see her like this right now?"
The man on the other end of the line fell silent for a long time before letting out a soft sigh.
