The argument at the door woke up the person who had just fallen asleep. With a click, the apartment door opened—
"Why are you arguing at the door instead of coming in?"
It was Olivia Lewis's voice.
She was in her pajamas, holding the door open, looking like she just woke up. One hand was on the handle, the other was rubbing her eyes. It took her a moment to notice that besides Adam Sinclair, there was a stranger at the door.
"Woof woof—" The golden retriever acted cute at her, wagging its tail quickly, looking extremely adorable.
"Sugar, don't bark, come in with Mummy." Olivia came to her senses and beckoned to the golden retriever with a finger. Instantly, the golden retriever broke free from Adam Sinclair's leash and bounced to her side, as if it understood human speech, and obediently stopped barking.
