Sophie Sullivan suppressed the fury in her heart. After all Thomas Shannon had said, she wouldn't dare talk back to him at this critical moment, no matter how foolish she might be.
"A fine 'I wouldn't dare.'" Thomas Shannon was immensely pleased. He released her chin, then gripped her shoulder with his other hand and pulled her to her feet.
Sophie had barely risen when, in the next second, his arm snaked around her waist. She squirmed uncomfortably for a couple of moments, provoking a sharp reprimand from Thomas Shannon, "Don't move."

Thomas Shannon scooped up Harry with one hand, stopping it from eating more, and tucked it under his other arm. He remarked with considerable amusement, "Look how fat you've become, hmm?"
"MEOW." Harry twitched its tail pitifully.
With that, he led Sophie out of the medical office.
