Thomas Shannon hadn't expected her to pull such a move and was caught off guard when she deliberately stepped on his foot.
He frowned. "You..."
"What do you mean, 'you'? Was my step too light for you?"
Thomas Shannon grasped her jaw with one hand, pulling her face close to his. Lowering his head, he stared deeply into her angry eyes. "Are you angry?"
Harry, restless in her arms, stretched his fluffy head and rubbed it against Sophie Sullivan's chin, making her itch.
Noticing her discomfort, Thomas Shannon let go of Harry with one hand. "Go play somewhere else."
The rejected Harry circled Thomas Shannon and Sophie Sullivan a few times before reluctantly running off.
Thomas Shannon wrapped an arm around Sophie Sullivan's slender waist and then grasped her jaw, a wicked smile curling the corner of his mouth. "You little maniac, what sort of rubbish is going on in your brain? Can't your thoughts be a little purer?"
Sophie Sullivan was speechless.
