Mary's face suddenly changed, and just as she was about to turn over and get off the bed from the other side, Beau pulled her into his arms.
"Mary, don't be afraid. I won't hurt you again. I'll protect you. I definitely won't let you get hurt again."
Mary's body stiffened, "Let go of me."
Beau just held her tighter.
Mary began to struggle, "Let go of me, you're hurting me!"
Beau immediately released her, his gaze sweeping over her, his voice hoarse.
"Where?"
Mary pushed him away, "Stay away from me! I don't need your protection right now! On the contrary, you just hurt me! Don't come near me! Get out!"
The roar made Beau stop in his tracks as he tried to approach her again. He looked at her for a while, and eventually stepped back a few steps.
"Don't get excited, I'll go get you a glass of water."
Mary's hands trembled slightly, uncontrollably.
When the door sounded again, she was startled.
But it wasn't Beau who came in.
"Madam, are you alright?"
