"If you're not going to sleep, then get out!"
With Beau Reed on this side of the bed, she naturally wouldn't face him.
But the next second, Beau Reed lifted the quilt and lay down in front of her.
She shifted back a little, only for Beau Reed to press down on her waist.
"What are you doing?"
Beau Reed leaned closer to her. "Sleeping."
Mary Douglas frowned, wanting to roll over and put some distance between them, but he held her so tight she couldn't move.
"Beau Reed." Her voice carried a threat.
Beau Reed didn't loosen his grip. He lifted his eyes to look at Mary Douglas, his whole face full of grievance.
"I didn't sleep at all last night."
His sudden change in attitude stunned Mary Douglas for a moment.
Had he gone crazy?
A man in his forties suddenly acting spoiled and aggrieved in front of her?
Taking advantage of Mary Douglas's dazed moment, Beau Reed buried his head down, closed his eyes, and pulled her waist a little closer into his arms.
