Nicholas felt good. Like, really good.
He had not felt such comfort in a very long time, since the death of his wife. He hadn't felt this carefree and true to himself either.
Nick felt so good that not even the paperwork could dampen his enthusiasm. Yes, he was doing them, not his clones, for some reason. Had been for the past couple of weeks, and he still hadn't uttered any word of complaint, like he'd usually do.
Of course, he doesn't plan on forever burying himself here. Frankly, he just missed being in this office in person. He knew that this feeling would get old pretty soon. But before that happens, he'd make sure to leave so as to not part with his actual job with bitterness.
Well, he will be replaced by his clones anyway, so no big deal.
