One by one, Vera showed the photos she had taken to Grandma Wave. As the elderly lady looked at the photos on the phone, a hint of melancholy appeared on her face.
"I miss home, Vera... When can I be discharged?"
The elderly lady's tone was like a child's, making one feel heartache.
Vera put away her phone, squatted down, and held the elderly lady's knees.
"Grandma, once your wound is healed, I'll take you home, okay?"
"Okay!"
The elderly lady smiled like a child, her lips curling upwards.
Vera helped adjust the blanket on her and stood up to walk behind the wheelchair.
"Brother Nathan, let me push it!" Nathan Leafcastle released his grip and let her have the handles. Vera pushed Grandma Wave towards the residential building while he walked beside her, "I really appreciate you coming over specifically to see Grandma."
Nathan Leafcastle raised his lips slightly, "Is your injury okay now?"
"It's fine, just a minor scratch, nothing serious."
"I truly feel sorry."
