In her arms, the faint fragrance from the girl's hair wafts into her nostrils.
Holding Vera Wave's shoulder, Nathan Leafcastle's arm unknowingly tightens slowly, drawing her into his embrace.
At first, Vera doesn't feel anything unusual, but when her face touches his chest and she smells his scent, a violent churn suddenly rises in her chest.
"Ugh..."
She raises her hand to cover her mouth and quickly retreats from Nathan's embrace.
"Vera?!"
Nathan rushes over with concern, holding her arm as Vera instinctively steps back, waving her hand at him.
She suppresses the discomfort in her chest, "I'm fine, just a little stomach discomfort."
"Do you need to see a doctor?"
"It's nothing." She forces a faint smile, "Let's go back first."
Nathan picks up the basin of clothes on the ground, and they go back downstairs to the floor where Grandma Wave is located. Nathan's phone suddenly rings, and answering the call, he frowns after hearing a few words.
"Okay, I'll be right over."
