Chapter 14
Izuku woke to the sound of his alarm blaring at 6am, it was currently Sunday and the Sports Festival was tomorrow. Izuku felt Momo jump once the alarm had awoken her.
"Izu why do you have an alarm set for 6am? On the weekend of all things?" She was blearily rubbing her eyes before she just laid back down.
"Sorry Momo I just gotta go for my morning run. Plus there are some things I wanted to try out, you just sleep in alright?" Midoriya gave her a peck on the cheek as he got out of the bed, slipping on some sweat bottoms and a t shirt before trying to walk as silently as he could to do the door and exiting.
Izuku walked the rest of the way downstairs to the common in silence but once he got to the dorm common room he was met with a sight he was not quite expecting. Half the class was already down here and it seemed like they were waiting for him because as soon as he walked into the room they all started screaming his name. "Midori/Izuku/Midoriya/Deku/Green!" He heard being shouted from the communal living room. The first to approach him as per usual was Iida.
"Midoriya, I have heard that you are giving your fellow classmates quirks. I wish to put myself in a position where I may also acquire an additional quirk. I have heard many great things from Kirishima and Aoyama. I do not wish to pressure you but do you have any that I may use." Iida had 4 other people standing behind him nodding along with what he was saying.
This was exactly why Izuku wanted to be an underground hero, This is probably the exact reason why Aizawa-Sensei hates the media. Izuku facepalmed before responding. "Sorry guys all the quirks on me are ones I plan on keeping and I won't be visiting the prison until next weekend. Your just gonna have to wait until after the sports festival."
Sero broke through the small mob to speak first. "But you gave Kaminari, Kirishima, Bakugo, Uraraka, and Aoyama all extra quirks how is that fair to us?"
Izuku should've expected something like this. "I'll talk to Aizawa-Sensei, they will likely be told to not use their extra quirks during the sports festival like myself. As for Uraraka i'll be giving her her original quirk back, so don't worry about that."
Thankfully that seemed to make the impromptu mob recede. Izuku started to make his way for the door before yet another person ambushed him, a familiar red spiky haired face came into view. "Midoriya that was super manly and I can't thank you enough for the quirk you gave me, Kaminari is also on his way. He and Aoyama wanted to help test their new quirks out with me, you'll join us right?"
Izuku was beginning to regret waking up this morning, he could still be in bed with Momo right now but this was his fault might as well own up to it. He turned before giving a small smile. "Yeah sure Kirishima, i'm curious how y'all have been in learning those quirks. Especially you, any idea how you'll explain super speed being part of your quirk?"
The spiky haired teen before him deflated. "Honestly I was planning on going with having a double quirk like Todoroki, it's not like any of the public knows my quirk yet." Izuku watched the hardening user shrug.
Izuku had a thought at that moment, he was going to have to tell the entire class about All for One at some point. The man already targeted their class and now that Izuku is in it and is giving everybody quirks he's going to come back at this point Izuku is that man's worst threat. An army of Heroes with multiple quirks probably threatens him more than All Might, and once it's seen that he's handing out his quirks like candy All for One will not be happy. He's going to have to tell Aizawa first and All Might, no telling the kind of chaos that could happen if Izuku dropped that little tidbit of info. They waited in silence until the aforementioned teens appeared. They walked in a gaggle to Gym Gamma, somehow Kaminari still hadn't figured out the quirk that Izuku gave him meanwhile Aoyama was doing poses and talking about how much he could sparkle now.
Izuku finally relented tired of Kaminari's whining. "Kaminari it let's you control the path lightning would take. It also gives a slight precognitive effect of the path the lightning would take before using it. Have you not once tried using your quirk since I gave it to you?" He was legitimately exasperated the electric teen had not figured out the quirk yet. He'd had the stupid thing for almost a week now.
"Wait it lets me control my lightning? That's been like my biggest problem since I always hit my allies." Kaminari exclaimed.
Izuku just face palmed at that. Why do you think I gave that to you Izuku thought to himself. Jirou's Jamming whey theory was quickly becoming something he believed in. "Yeah I thought it would help you."
Once they reached the gym they would be using for the next hour Izuku decided to sit back and let them show off his quirks before testing out his new ones. He wished Momo was here so she could create electronics for him to fry with EMP. He'd just have to settle for testing out life giver. It's an interesting quirk to say the least, the life he gives out honestly feels like it's parts of his soul and a quirk that lets you split your very being is... interesting at the least. Breaking himself from his inner musings Izuku watched Kirishima teleport across the entire gym, Aoyama create light barriers and Kaminari tracing circles in the air with electricity. Izuku really hoped he knew what he was doing at this point, imagine if they turned into villains.
Izuku shouted to bring them all back to him. "Alright i've told you all about the drawbacks to those quirks, you will have to adjust to them just like I did. While the original users had their whole lives to adjust to those quirks your going to have much less time. It won't be easy i'm not going to lie but quirks are like muscles you can train them. Kirishima your biggest weakness was speed which is why I gave you quickstep, i'm sure the nausea is a lot rougher for you than it was for the original user. Kaminari your quirk doesn't really have a drawback, the drawback for your quirk was needing the element you control in the first place, which in your case is lightning. That being said if you make too much lightning you won't be able to control it all, so be careful about going all out. Lastly for you Aoyama, overuse will cause you to go blind, that being said it should severely strengthen your quirk as you can turn the lasers you make into solid objects, so all of you do your best to get used to the drawbacks of those quirks. Although the principal might not let you use them tomorrow so it's up to you to convince him."
Aoyama took a pose he recognized in an anime. "Wee I will have to just them how I sparkle. My brilliance shall not be dimmed."
Kaminari nodded at that. "Yeah we just gotta show them what we can do."
Izuku liked that answer, thats the exact same thing he told everyone else. "Yeah that's all we can do." Izuku grabbed some rocks before activating life giver, turning them into pigeons. Huh he was going to have to research the worlds animals like how Momo researches elements. That wasn't something he was looking forward to in the slightest. Not to mention this quirk felt weird, it felt like he was splitting up his soul when he was using it, it almost felt like giving up one of his quirks but worse. Overuse of this quirk really was dangerous, even those pigeons made Izuku feel like he's used around 5% of his life energy which doesn't seem like much but giving up 1/20th of your soul is not something to be underestimated.
"Hmm so the best way to use this quirk would be making small extremely powerful animals, poison dart frogs, bullet ants. etc." Izuku thought out loud.
Kirishima was just staring at Midoriya in disbelief. "Holy crap Midoriya, that's such a cool quirk. How does it work?"
Midoriya turned the pigeons back into rocks before responding. "I can turn inanimate objects into living ones that listen to my orders, it's kind of like Koda's quirk if i'm being honest. That being said there is a mass limit but even with that it's incredibly useful. Enough of that though how are you liking quick step?"
Kirishima slammed his strengthened fists together making a resounding clanging sound. "I love it midori bro, I can even jump 3 times before the nausea sets in."
Izuku tried his best to looked impressed even though the previous user could jump nearly 15 times before any kind of backlash. "Want to know a trick the previous user used Kirishima?"
"Sure bro, not sure what else could be done with the quirk since it just makes me move really fast." Kirishima shrugged.
Yeah his quirk really suits her personality Izuku thought while chuckling to himself. "Well you tell me, what if you jump to a spot slightly behind someone? I mean you have to be able to see the spot but all that means if you have to jump slightly to either side of said person. What could you do along the way?"
Kirishima looked like he shut down for a second before shifting back to his usual cheerful personality. "I can sock them along the way, holy crap Midori Bro that's amazing, I can combine my super durability with super speed and knock people out in one go."
Izuku started clapping "Ding ding ding. You got it Kirishima, the previous user was able to knock people unconscious in one go with that, with your hardening it'll do even more damage. Be careful though that bonus power might be able to actual kill someone."
Kirishima paled after hearing that, the memories of USJ were still fresh after all. "Yeah, your right. I'll ... be careful."
Izuku sat back as he watched all of them use their new quirks. He'd only handed them off a week ago but he was still impressed at how fast they were learning to use them. Izuku wanted to increase his limit with Jetstream but without Molecular Manipulation he couldn't cool his body down and he didn't want to push himself too hard the day before the sports festival. He'd have to go find Uraraka after this and get his quirks back. I guess I can try making myself stronger with Float and Life Giver. Izuku started slowly creating more and more birds from rocks, the more of his 'life' he gave away the more lethargic he got. Wow i'm really giving up my soul with this aren't I? Izuku briefly wondered if he gave up all of his soul and then brought it back would he return to life? That's not something he wanted to test. It seems like at his current level life giver reaches a point where it's debilitating around 60%, going further than that just started slowing him down more and more. Izuku canceled the life giving quirk and he instantly felt all his energy return. What a weird quirk Izuku thought to himself. Whelp time to try to float thankfully I haven't eaten yet today. He activated the quirk on himself and instantly felt the need to vomit, and began dry heaving. Oh right, she's had this quirk for how long and she still has to vomit after like a minute? This probably wasn't the smartest move. He deactivated the quirk as soon as he could, thankfully the feeling of nausea left quickly. Izuku really needed to start thinking more before he tried different things out. He chuckled as he remembered what Momo had once told him, Intelligence of 18 Wisdom of 5. He brought himself out of his head and near vomitting to see Kirishima in a similar state.
"You alright spiky hair?" He said at Kirishima mockingly.
"Oh not you too." Kirishima was huffing with the effort to prevent himself from hurling chunks. He managed to get himself together enough before responding again. "I think i've gotten enough training with this quirk for the day, i'm going to talk to Aizawa-Sensei about using it at the sports festival. You should get out of here before working yourself over too much as well Midoriya." He flashed a thumbs up at the quirk stealer.
Izuku looked over and at Aoyama and Kaminari spamming their new quirks before walking out the door.
Unknown to the students however was that Aizawa had been watching them from the viewing room, he wasn't going to let them train her unsupervised after all and after watching his student slam face first into a rock for the umpteenth time he was facepalming. Maybe I shouldn't have let the problem child give out extra quirks.
He had a few things he needed to do, he needed to get his original quirks back for one. On the way back he saw Todoroki going for a run. Izuku gave a brief wave which the other boy interpreted as Izuku wanted to talk to him.
Todoroki stood there with his usual blank stare. "Midoriya."
Izuku hadn't planned for this and he knew nothing about Todoroki's likes and dislikes, well aside from his father. "Oh hey Todoroki how are you doing?"
"Good Midoriya, I wanted to tell you something. I'm going to see my Mom today. I think depending on what she says i'll decide if i'm going to use my fire or not." Todoroki stated.
"That's... good. I'm sure your mother will want to see you after all this time, if it's been eating at you this much imagine what it's doing to her. I'm sure she wants to see you Todoroki." Izuku tried to answer in his best empathetic tone.
"...Thank you Midoriya. I hope you are right, i'm going to finish my run i'll see you later." Todoroki turned and ran off.
Izuku wondered if the man's neutral personality was a result of his two quirks canceling each other. He'd seen other people influenced by their quirks after all. Insert Bakugo is Bakugo and Asui talks like a frog.
The rest of his trip to the dorms was much less interesting seeing nobody before entering the door to common room. Thankfully the earlier mob had dissipated and he was not ambushed upon entry. He did spy Sato cooking as per usual though.
Sato looked up from the cupcakes he was making when he heard the door to the dorms opened. "Hey Midoriya, how was training?"
Izuku walked up the counter and sat down. "Pretty good, learning the limits of new quirks is interesting to say the least. Hey have you seen Uraraka?"
Sato briefly pondered before responding. "I can't say that I have. Try checking her room? ...Um also I know everyone was hounding you earlier. That may have been my fault, I may have complained to Jirou about not getting an extra quirk and she kinda gathered everyone via communal whining. Sorry."
Midoriya just sighed. "Don't worry you will all get extra quirks eventually." He pulled out a notebook. "Any specific type of quirk you want?"
Sato just stared in amazement. "Is that a list of what people have been asking for? And um yes, a type of speed quirk or flight would be nice. I have raw strength but that's about it, it doesn't help if I dont get there in time."
Izuku sweat dropped before jotting that down. "Yeah everyone has been asking for speed quirks so I apologize but your like 3rd in line for one of those."
Sato pouted briefly. "Yeah that makes sense."
Izuku stood up checking the room location board. "I'm going to go find Uraraka so i'll talk to you later." He waved as he walked off.
Izuku knocked three times at Uraraka's door before he heard a slam from inside the room briefly followed by shouting. He heard something about a fire, he was prepared to break down the door to help if need be but it opened soon after.
Uraraka was furiously rubbing the back of her head. "Sorry Deku I was messing around with that quirk you gave me. You kinda scared me when you knocked and I kinda uhhhh." She gestured to the burn marks on her desk that were for some reason covered in ice. "I was able to put it out by using the other half of the quirk."
Izuku just looked on incredulously. He really needed to talk to people before giving them quirks. "That's... uh fine. I just wanted to come get those quirks back. I'm sure you want float back for tomorrow."
Uraraka and her endless energy began nodding furiously. "Please Deku." She held her hand out before Izuku took it, taking his quirks back before giving hers back.
Izuku smiled at her. "Your good to go, I'll see you later!"
"Thanks Deku I'll see you later and oh i've been wondering real quick. If you don't mind me asking." She looked kind of pensive to Izuku
"Your going to ask for another quirk aren't you?" Izuku was really regretting giving out those quirks but Kaminari deserved it for defending him on the bus and he liked Kirishima enough, Aoyama was you know Aoyama and it made the most since for him to have it.
"Actually no I was wondering why you were giving them out in the first place, it's definitely gonna be a hassle for you down the line Deku." Her bright cheery face only slightly lost its glow.
Izuku just shrugged. "I couldn't let the USJ happen again, next time we'll be better prepared. That is if there is a next time but I feel like there will be. Aizawa-Sensei almost died and if the enemy hadn't had the perfect quirk to stop that beast Aizawa-Sensei would have definitely bit it."
Uraraka remembers the footage of their teacher being beaten into the ground repeatedly and shudders. "Yeah that makes sense Deku, well I hope it all works out for you. Oh by the way I finally listened to your idea and had the support people change up my costume. I now have a belt that holds a really heavy collapsible staff that I can use as a weapon, the thing weighs like 50lbs supposedly."
The way her bright cheery face reflected the light while bouncing up and down talking about bludgeoning a person unsettled Izuku to say the least. "You could talk to Momo she used to a staff before I basically forced her to switch to guns. She can probably teach you a couple things."
"Oh really? That'd be great would you ask her for me?" The gravity user stated.
"Yeah no problem I was just about to go see her. I needed her to make some stuff for Mei anyway." Izuku said casually.
"Oh hey sorry one last thing. I mean it's kinda obvious but you and her are dating right?" She looked sad when she asked that for some reason.
"Uhhhhh... fine yeah we are. We're terrible at keeping it a secret aren't we?" Izuku rubbed the back of his head while he said that.
"Oohhhhh that's uh good for you, I gotta go i'll talk to you later Deku." The girls face darkened and she nearly slammed the door on him.
Well that was weird.
Izuku got back to his room to see Momo was still asleep, he looked at his phone it was already 1pm how is she still asleep. Whelp time for a prank, he turned a pencil on his desk into a cute harmless snake before telling it to go roll around on the bed but not to bite her under any circumstances.
Momo half asleep heard the door to Izuku's room open, guessing it was just Izuku she rolled over but a few seconds later she felt something moving on top of the bed sheet she was sleeping under, wondering why someone was bothering her she used her hand to try and shoo it away but she wasn't expecting her hand to make contact with something that felt scaly? She opened her eyes to see a garden snake currently on her bed. Huh, that's weird. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" she screamed for a solid 5 seconds before throwing her bed sheets off in an attempt to get the creature away from her. Her fear was interrupted when she heard laughing from the other side of the room. She watched her boyfriend walk over and pick up the snake turning it into a pencil. "IZUKU THAT WASN'T FUNNY. YOU NEARLY GAVE ME A HEART ATTACK!" Momo wasn't one to yell but she thought it was warranted in this situation.
"Sorry sorry, I just couldn't resist you've been sleeping for near 14 hours, it's already 1pm. Plus I needed your help with stuff and it would never actually hurt you." Still slightly giggling.
"Well I'm not helping you now." She turned her head pouting.
Izuku felt kind of bad now so he walked over to give her a hug, which thankfully wasn't rejected. "I'm sorry Mo, it would never hurt you I swear."
"I'm still mad at you this doesn't change anything. Also you owe me chocolate now." The quirk inheritor said as she put her finger up to her boyfriends mouth. "No talking back this time Izu."
They stayed like for almost a minute before Momo spoke. "So what did you need my help with Izuku?"
"Oh well two things, Mei wanted you to drop by the lab so you could make her some materials she needs. The other was Uraraka, she got an upgrade to her costume and she fights with a staff now, I know you were good with those way back when. She was wondering if you might be willing to train her. Also huh I hadn't noticed at first but your quirk is slowly being eaten up by One for All, it's getting that wispyness all the other quirks in you have." Izuku went to try and take it and sure enough the quirk evaded him like all the rest, not being able to use creation anymore was kind of sad but now All for One can't steal it so that's a plus.
"Is that a bad thing Izu? Do we need to talk to All Might about it?" She had a worried expression on her face.
"No it should be fine but we should let him know anyway. All it really means is I can't take it anymore but more importantly HE can't." Izuku shuddered when he realized that they were going to fight someone with his quirk but vastly more experience and time using it.
"If you say so and to the things you brought up sure, I'll message Uraraka to let her know but we aren't starting till after the Sports Festival as for Mei yeah that should be fine just let me take a shower first."
It was about 30 minutes later when they arrived at the door to Mei's lab and Momo should have expected it when the door exploded outward taking her and Izuku down with it. Thankfully she was able to lift it using One for All combined with Izuku's super strength or they could have been in danger.
They heard a voice from inside the room shout. "Darn it Mei, if you explode one more thing I'm suspending you from the lab for a week. Are either of you hurt?" He helped the couple by pushing the door off to the side of them with his mech suit.
Izuku spoke first. "No we're okay thank you Power Loader Sensei."
The familiar mop of the pink haired girls dreadlocks came into view. "IZUKU YOUR HERE AND YOU BROUGHT THE CREATION GIRL. PERFECTION BOTH OF YOU IN IN." She got behind the couple and shoved them into the room. "Here's what you asked for Izuku, I made every adjustment you asked for." She put one of the briefcases used for costumes into his hand. "Now your end of the deal make me Platinum, Gold, Diamond, and Copper and lots of it." She was bobbing her head up and down like an excited child.
Momo sighed and complied dropping a copious amount of precious metals onto a work table. "Is this enough?"
Mei just stared at the metals salivating. "Yes time to make so many babies." She cackled and walked off.
"I'm never going to get used to that girl am I Izuku? Also what is that?" Momo looked at the shiny briefcase in his hands.
"Uh i'll show you when we get back to the dorms it's a surprise I had her make for you." Izuku couldn't tell her he found her hero costume to distracting for him and got her a new one. Nope nope.
The trip back to the dorms was relatively peaceful and quiet. They didn't stop until they had reached Momo's room on the second floor.
Once they had unlocked the room and closed it behind her Izuku basically shoved the case into her hands. "I went through the liberty of getting mei to make you a better costume, I hope you don't mind Momo."
She just stared at the case for a few seconds before asking. "Wait why? My current costume is fine."
"Um lets just say your current costume was a bit how should I put this. Exposing. If she made it the way I asked it should be a lot better than your old one. Go ahead try it on." He pointed to the bathroom.
Momo just went with it and went into the bathroom. "When she opened the case what she saw looked amazing, it was a black jumpsuit with red trimmings on the side, it was split into two pieces and an 2 arm guards which also went with the black with red trimmings. It kind of reminded her of something from that show about Ninjas from the pre quirk era Izuku had made her watch but it was stunning. However could she use her quirk like this? Knowing Izuku he definitely made sure that was a thing.
She exited the room to witness Izuku's staring at her, she blushed a bit.
"It looks amazing on you Momo, it looks like Mei did everything I asked does the wrist computer work?" Izuku was practically vibrating with excitement.
"Oh you mean this, what does it do?" She asked curious.
"I might as well just tell you everything it does, the fabric is made of the same stuff that Midnights hero outfit is so it self repairs on top of that I had Mei install a computer on the suit it's voice activated and has google I had her make that to replace that book you carried with you on your costume. Just say what you need and it'll pull up the associated information with whatever object you want to make. I also had her change the design to help match your black theme that you have going on, I kept some red in there because I knew you liked the color . I also had Mei add a storage belt so you can keep small items created in advance like stun grenades. So what do you think?" Izuku said listing off the functions of the suit.
Momo was in shock, he had done all this for her? "I love it Izuku thanks." She pulled the boy into a hug before kissing him. "I can't wait to test it out, it's a shame that the Sports Festival tomorrow or i'd go do so right now."
"I'm just glad the work I put into it won't go to waste then." He smiled at her before looking at the time and suggesting they head off to get an early dinner, to which she eagerly agreed.
Todoroki stood in front of the door of the hospital that contained his mother. How was she going to react? Would she still hate the left side of him? No, he couldn't let thoughts like that stop him, he had to do this. Todoroki opened the door gently only to see his mother by the window in a hospital gown, gazing outside lazily.
Rei Todoroki heard the door to her hospital room open, weird the doctors weren't supposed to be by for another hour or so. She was not expecting the person who entered the door but she recognized the face of her child almost immediately. Especially after what she did, she'd had nightmares about mutilating her child's face for so long. "Sh-houto?"
Todoroki paled after hearing his mother say his name like that, in addition the face she had made it look like she was seeing a ghost. He needed to fix this and quickly, he nearly jumped the woman, hugging her tightly. "It's okay mom I still love you, i've never hated you."
He felt the tears before hearing the woman's sobs. "Oh thank god, I thought you hated me. I mean look what I did to you."
"Mom I know it was his fault it was never yours. The only reason I didn't come here sooner was because I was scared you still hated my left side." Shouto was biting back his own tears at this point. Thankful for this second chance Shouto knew everything was going to be alright.

Everyone was standing around in the waiting room, the sports festival was set to begin in just 20 minutes. Izuku could basically hear the nerves of everyone in the room, he went over to Momo and gave her a reassuring squeeze on the shoulder. "You got this don't worry." He smiled at her before noticing another dark look from Uraraka, he should definitely talk to her about that later.
Shortly after that though Izuku heard Todoroki calling his name from behind him. "Midoriya, I know I've never beaten you in a fight, not once since the beginning of this year and I don't count the draw. But let me say this, I'm going to win. I thank you for everything you've done for me but don't expect any mercy even though you can't use all your quirks."
Izuku stood up straight, if he was going to be challenged then he should take it in stride. "Same to you Todoroki, I may be at a disadvantage since I can only use Jetstream and quirks people wouldn't notice but that's not going to stop me. That being said I wouldn't be so sure about me being your only competition after all everyone has worked super hard to get here not to mention the people I've given secondary quirks are allowed to use them." Not like theres a reason to hide anything when the worst possible enemy already knows, Izuku sighed at that thought. He'd been told by the Principal he could use two visible quirks as well but Izuku figured he'd be fine since he was using about 5 as it stands. Jetstream, Tempo, Super Strength, (Although I won't be pulling any herculean feats today) Molecular Manipulation, and Ultra Sight.
Izuku's speech was followed by a clang from Kirishima. "Bro that's so manly, we all know your the strongest in the class but thanks for believing in us."
"Yeah fuck you Icy-hot, Deku's useless ass isn't the only opponent you have to overcome." Bakugo brought his thrilling narrative to the table, which caused both Izuku and Momo to roll their heads.
Kaminari chimed in next. "Hasn't Midoriya beaten you in like every assignment we've done and don't forget that time he stomped you during the battle training."
"ALRIGHT PIKACHU CONGRATS YOUR AT THE TOP OF MY SHIT LIST NOW, DEKU, AFTER I'M DONE WITH HIM I'M COMING FOR YOU!" Bakugo roared at the electric user.
"I'm terrified." Kaminari raised his hands and did his best I'm scared impression.
The intercom chose this moment to stop what was likely going to escalate into a fight. "The Sports Festival is beginning Class 1-A please make your way to the field."
Izuku took one more breath and did his best to silence his nerves before stepping out of the corridor and into a positively screaming arena.
Present Mic Bellowed into the radio. "It's the class that fought villains and came out unscathed, please put your hands together for class 1-A! They come followed by their sister class who haven't really had their chance to shine yet, its class 1-B!
Next up we have the general education department class, is there a dark horse amongst these young individuals? Who knows but give it up for Class 1-C, D, and E.
Next the folks who do their best to be the heroe's hero, the support courses class 1-F, G, and H!
Last but not least here comes the course that markets our young heroes in training, the business courses I, J, and K! Now let's let our roars be heard for our up and coming students! YAYYYYYYYYYYY! Oh, and how could I forget my Co Commenter ERASERHEAD!"
"Stop using your quirk when I'm in the same room." Aizawa could already feel his head throbbing.
"Any favorites' this year Eraserhead?" Though it was more of a rhetorical question since the man doesn't take any favorites'.
"Izuku Midoriya will at least reach the top 8 of the final round, you still do that bet like you do every year because if so I'm in for once." Aizawa dryly responded to the man.
Izuku cringed when he heard his name mentioned and turned to see all his class glaring at him but it was more like an accepting glare than an actually angry one.
"Oh what's this? A student has finally managed to win over our iceking Eraserhead? Deal, if he gets any lower than the top 8 I win. But anyway folks let's give it up for our umpire Midnight!" Present mic had slightly dropped his tone to spare his co commentator.
"As the student who ranked in first place during the Yuuei Entrance Exam, Bakugou Katsuki is the representative of all the First Years! Please walk up to the stage and give your speech!" Midnight said blowing a kiss out to the crowd.
The entirety of Class 1-A face palmed as they knew exactly what was going to happen.
"Sensei... I'm going to win." Bakugo stated as if it were a fact.
The entire crowd plus the other classes started booing. He heard some kid from behind him shout about the superiority of class 1-B but the thing that was weird was the voice he recognized it. Oh it's just Monoma again, he didn't say anything at that time with Bakugo so maybe he forgot about him? Izuku prayed that was at least the case but they were in the same homeroom for over a year so that'd be unlikely.
"SHUT UP! I WASN'T FINISHED YOU EXTRAS. Now as I was saying, I'm going to win the first round and the second round and when it finally comes to the tournament. DEKU I'M GOING TO BEAT YOUR ASS SO BADLY YOU WON'T EVER BE ABLE TO FORGET IT. YOU HEAR ME?" Bakugo roared that last part before pointing at Izuku's mop of green and to his chagrin every person around him stepped to the side.
Midoriya cringed even more, why was everyone singling him out of every competitor. He could feel the gaze of every person in the arena on him, it has been made abundantly clear they need to watch out for Izuku and he hated it. Is this how All Might feels?
Bakugo just dropped the mic before walking off the stage.
Midnight did her best to bring order to the chaos that was everyone booing in the stands. "Well it seems like our competitors are fired up today! Let's waste no time and start the competition. Everybody if you could direct your eyes to the screen we will soon see what the first challenge of the day will be." The wheel spun for around 10 seconds before it finally stopped on obstacle course. "It seems the first thing all of you youngsters will have to triumph over is the U.A. High Obstacle Course! One of our fan favourites! Now everyone get into position at the gate, we'll be starting in five minutes."
Izuku walked over and grabbed Momo by the shoulder." Wanna work together on this? If we do we should be able to win this pretty easily, I'll even let you have first." Izuku gave her a thumbs up.
Momo mulled it over briefly before responding. "That seems like a good idea Izu, what do you have planned?"
Izuku mulled it over for a second. "Surprisingly I think Kirishima is actually the most likely to win this, quick step is really good at this kind of thing. So we either need to outspeed near teleportation or find a way to shut him down early. We could just go with the wing glider plan but I want to save that for later. Do you have any ideas?"
Momo paused thinking about it, there wasn't much they could do since actually attacking Kirishima was outright illegal and it would be very hard for them to lock him down." I think our best bet is to just ignore him, it's not like were allowed to do anything to him in this scenario, we just have to hope he isn't good enough with it yet and go as fast as we can." Momo shrugged. "As for us I'll make a 2 seater bike and we'll combine your super strength, Jetstream and my One for All 8% and we'll charge through this course. If there are any places where the bike won't work we can just pick it up and carry it for a bit."
"Good enough plan for me, I have a feeling Todoroki's going to try and freeze everyone at the start. So I'm going to throw you over while you focus on the bike, once we get ahead keeping ahead should be easy enough." Izuku was about 85 percent certain he knew exactly what the Ice teen was going to do.
They had been lucky and managed to snag a spot close to the front, not at the front but close enough, it was then that the countdown started.

"GO!" roared from the mic.
"So what's going to be a crucial point Eraser?" Mic asked his cocommenter.
"Right here." Aizawa responded his voice flat as ever.
Izuku grabbed Momo and threw her forward with as much strength as he could muster before Jetstreaming after her. Momo was meanwhile busy trying to create the bike as fast as she could. They had already passed Todoroki at this point as he had to stop momentarily to freeze everyone else. The heterochromatic teen's head swiveled as they flew by, Izuku could already see the shock forming on it. "He's going to try and catch up with us or throw Ice at us. How much longer for that bike?"
Momo responded while not trying to break her focus. "You know larger things take me longer, give me like 5 seconds." They both kept running while Izuku turned to see the Heterochromatic boy surfing on his ice in order to speed up.
"The power duo Izuku Midoriya and Yaoyorozu Momo take an early lead, Todoroki is in hot pursuit however or is that an icy pursuit?" Mic chuckled into the mic.
"It seems the two of them have decided to team up as opposed to working against each other. It's an interesting strategy." Aizawa chimed in.
Momo finally finished her creation having been smart enough to open her blouse before trying to make something that large, she didn't need a wardrobe malfunction on live television. "Alright Izuku it's ready get on." She wasted no time getting on and pedaling while Izuku jumped onto the back seat. As soon as they had a semblance of balance Izuku put Jetstream into overdrive while pedaling as hard as he could greatly accelerating their speed when combined with Momos pedaling with One for All.
"Is that a two seater bike? Seems you were right on the mark Eraser, they ARE working together. It seems Midoriya is using his quirk Jetstream to propel them while Yaoyorozu is using her own quirk to peddle as fast as she can. What is her quirk anyway?" Mic posed the question to Aizawa.
"Her quirk is called Indra, she generates black lightning that can be used to create inorganic objects although she needs to know its chemical makeup, she can also use it to increase her bodies strength. It's an incredibly versatile quirk as you can see." Aizawa explained mechanically as he glanced at the sheet in front of him.
Izuku turned back to see the distance between Todoroki of them growing quickly, his surfing was nowhere near the speed they were going. He was about to turn back around but barely caught Kirishima using quick step to quickly pass the other teen out of the corner of his eye. "Kirishima's coming! I knew he was going to be a problem, Momo can you make something to block his view? If he can't see the location he can't teleport there. Actually just drop glue behind us if his feet can't move the quirk won't work!"
Momo complied but trying to focus on three things at once was really getting to her. Driving this bike, keeping up OFA, and trying to create something was incredibly taxing on her mind. "Got it, I'm going to start dropping glue bombs as we go." But it was at this point that they noticed what was in front of them. "Are those the zero pointers the others mentioned?! They're gigantic!"
"It's fine Momo, just power through, they're probably too slow to stop us." Izuku at least hoped they were as he had never fought the mechanical beasts himself but something of that size should be quick slow in comparison.
"The power couple makes it to the first obstacle, ROBO INFERNO. Let's see how they tackle this." Mic announced to the roaring crowd.
"They're just going to go straight through it, they've hit around 60 miles per hour at this point, I don't see the robots even posing a slight problem for them." Aizawa added to Mics commentary.
True to Aizawa's word the slow and clunky robots posed no threat as they zoomed by. "It looks like Kirishima got hit by the glue, good job Momo. I'm trying to keep track of them with Zoom but we're so far ahead at this point I think we got this." Izuku immediately regretted his words as he saw what was before them. A massive pit.
"They're so far ahead they aren't even worried about the competition! They've already reached the second obstacle and in record time! It's the FALL. How will the bike combo pass this?" mic said trying to rile up the crowd.
"With the power of Midoriya's quirk and the near infinite uses of Yaoyorozu's quirk I can see several ways they could pass this obstacle easily." Aizawa answered, always the straight man.
"Hey Izuku were abandoning the bike for a bit. I'm going to wingsuit over, can you bring the bike?" Momo shouted back to her co rider.
"Yeah I got it Momo just go, I'll see you on the other side." Izuku shot back.
Momo charged up 12% before launching herself into the sky gliding over the pit crossing it in 2 jumps.
Izuku meanwhile grabbed the bike and launched himself from pillar to pillar it took him nearly 3 times as long because of the additional weight but they both Izuku knew should be the one to do this due to his super strength and Jetstream.
"The bike combo separates in order to breezeover the pit. Pun intended, is there any hope of somebody catching up?" Mic said.
"I was expecting this outcome if I'm being honest I knew both of their quirks were heavily favored in this event." Aizawa paused as he looked at the track. "I stand corrected look who's catching up." Aizawa said changing the camera to Kirishima.
Kirishima was absolutely gassed, he had been overusing his new quirk to much and he was already about to vomit. How far ahead were they? he was on his 5th successive jump before he stepped across the pit in one go. It was at that moment that his nausea caught up to him and he blew chunks all over the floor. Coughing and gagging as his insides felt all twisted up.
"It seems the runner up to the duo has hit quirk overuse and began vomiting profusely. If you want to eat lunch later I'd recommend looking away folks." Mic said jovially.
Well that was lucky Izuku thought, they managed to push him to his limit. The pair had since recovered and gotten back onto the bike with Momo before blasting off down the rest of the course, he took one last glance at Kirishima before they went though. Hopefully the boy wasn't in too much pain.
"Nothing seems to be even close to slightly impeding these two powerhouses of class 1-A. It seems like Midoriya is your favorite is for a good reason Eraser. But how will they handle the final obstacle? THE MINEFIELD!" Mic said taunting the man.
Aizawa sneered, the kid saved his life he may as well cheer for him. "It was logical given the events in question and his quirk."
Present Mic chimed back in again. "And what pray tell is his quirk for our audience."
Aizawa lifted up the document in front of him. "His quirk Jetstream allows him to shoot highly pressurized air blasts from his palms, they're quite strong, capable of reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour."
Izuku was a little annoyed their quirks were being revealed like this but oh well, they needed to captivate the audience and wait, what was that about a minefield? Well Izuku didn't think this quirk would be getting used today but here they are. "Momo don't stop! I have EMP activated they shouldn't explode as long as I'm near them!"
Dauntless as ever they drove straight into the minefield not even slightly slowing down, thankfully it seemed Izuku was correct in his assumption, the mines were electronic and nature. On top of that EMP wasn't a quirk you could see but rather one you could feel, though the staticy feeling was as weird as usual.
"What is this? The mines aren't even detonating? How could they possibly be getting around this?" Mic was incredulous.
Aizawa face palmed knowing exactly why they weren't going off, stupid Problem Child. "Yaoyorozu can even produce electronics with her quirk, it's possible she created an EMP generator or something similar to prevent the devices from exploding. One day she created a GPS tracker in my class as an example."
"Well with no competition anywhere near them it seems we have our winners of the first event and here they come now. Yaoyorozu Momo Finishes in 1st place, Izuku Midoriya places in 2nd! Now let's cut back to the rest of the pack." Mic changed the screen so it showed Kirishima who was finally starting to stand back up.
Kirishima had finally recovered from his first nauseous bout only to have quick stepped over the Minefield and immediately began vomiting again. In his moment of pain he overheard the intercom. 'Wait a minute, Midoriya and Yaoyorozu already finished?' Meanwhile the same thought occurred to both Bakugo and Todoroki.
Bakugo cursed under his breath, fucking Deku teamed up his girlfriend to win this shit years ago and he's still at the second fucking obstacle. How fucking fast were they going? Not to mention all this glue shit they were dropping everywhere was seriously starting to get annoying. "GOD DAMN IT DEKU, I'LL GET YOU FOR THIS!"
Todoroki wished he didn't have to deal with Bakugo's screaming but at the same time he couldn't believe that Midoriya and Yaoyorozu had already finished. Todoroki saw how fast they were going on that bike and knew he wouldn't be able to keep up but this was ridiculous.
Mic's comment on the people who had already finished had spurred Kirishima to begin hobbling towards the goal "Ourpoor red haired boy continues to push through the pain but Bakugo and Todoroki are beginning to catch up!.
Kirishima turned around to see both Todoroki and Bakugo had reached the beginning minefield. He could see the finish line from where he was which meant he could ... 'Oh well time to be manly.' He quick stepped one more time flashing past the finish line before hobbling over and vomiting bile as everything else had long since been evacuated from his body.
"Kirishima Ejiro gives himself one final push to rocket across the finish line taking 3rd for himself! Let's give it up for our red haired macho man! That being said I thought his quirk simply hardened his body Eraser?"Mic said grilling the man for answers.
"Kirishima is a dual type quirk user like Todoroki, he can jump long distances or harden his body." Aizawa sighed wondering how they convinced the principal to go along with this farce.
"Speaking of Todoroki here he comes taking 4th for himself and Bakugo Katsuki explodes into 5th place."
Fifth? Fucking fifth?! Bakugo Katsuki does not get fifth place, fucking Deku needs to stop giving these extras more quirks.
A similar thought passed Todoroki, he knew his quirk wasn't suited for a race because of the quirk assessment test but he hadn't even seen 1-3rd place since the first obstacle. Midoriya was being really troublesome by handing out quirks, maybe he should ask for one? Then again Midoriya also said he couldn't handle a second one, that caused Todoroki's shoulders to sag a bit.
Izuku was sitting next to Momo waiting for everybody else to file in. "Well we did it, wanna team up for the next one too? The sports festival usually has some kind of team event for the 2nd event."
Momo nodded along. "Of course you would know that you hero nerd but sure." She flashed him a bright smile.
Meanwhile Bakugo was watching this exchange with disgust he wanted to vomit, fucking romantic dweebs.
In a seedy bar in the bad part of town.
"Sensei I don't want to watch these hero rejects compete in this stupid event." Shigaraki spoke to the monitor that displayed the text 'audio only.'
"Now now Tomura, this is important, you need to learn more about your future enemies. Not to mention we've uncovered something interesting. That boy with my quirk is handing them out to the other heroes, that red haired one Kirishima I believe. Has no records of ever having had such a quirk. The boy is quickly becoming a problem, especially if he keeps loading up the heroes with more quirks. Also. It seems he no longer possesses your quirk. I wonder what he did with it?" The man chuckled.
"Sensei I want to kill him, I want to kill him so bad." Shiggy reached for a glass to disintegrate it, only for no such thing to occur. So instead he took the glass and slammed into the floor shattering it to pieces.
Kurogiri sighed at his ward's temper tantrum before going and retrieving a broom and dust pan.
"You will in time my pupil. You will. For now we must be patient and build up our strength again before we attempt any such action against the boy. His actions cannot be tolerated any further but if we act in haste we will fail. I am loathe to admit it but the boy might even give me trouble. After all we have no idea how many quirks he is in possession of and if All Might has been grooming the boy like we suspect he has the boy must be in possession of many strong quirks."
Shigaraki was startled when he heard that. "Yes, Sensei I will be patient."
"Good, good, now let's continue on with learning about our targets." The man added before both returned their attention to the screen.
Everyone had finally crossed the finish line so Midnight moved on to announce the next event.
"Alright time to announce who survived to the next round, congratulations to the top 42 runners of our race. If you fell below that I'm sorry but your out, please report to your classes viewing stands." Midnight announced, whipping the floor as she said that. 'Why is she a teacher her again?' Izuku briefly thought to himself.
It took a few minutes but everyone that was supposed to left the arena.
"Alright now that the top 42 contestants are the only ones remaining, I'll announce the next event. Get ready for theeeeeeeeeee ... CAVALRY BATTLEEEEEEEEEEEE! But theres a twist, each of you 42 will be given a score based on what you placed in the previous event. The leader of each team will then be given a headband that is worth the combined total of your teams scores. At the end of 15 minutes the groups with the highest scores will advance onto the next round. Starting at 5 points for the person in 42nd place and increasing by 5 points for every rank above that. However, there is one exception. First place is worth ... TEN MILLION POINTS." Midnight snapped her whip again.
Momo felt all eyes turn to her, including Izuku's. "I should've let you get first Izuku." She said as a nervous sweat begin to form on her face.
Midnight continued speaking after her dramatic pause. "With that said you have 15 minutes to form teams of 2-4 people. Good luck!"
Izuku turned to Momo and spoke "Well that's a thing that might as well happen, although I do have a plan. Let's just be a team of 2 people it'll make us more mobile and we're gonna need it if were playing keep away for the whole match. Although I do have one other idea you might like if you don't want to do that.
Momo felt like she had been sucker punched after realizing everyone would be after her. "Well I think avoiding people for 15 straight minutes will be difficult unless we go with the hang glider plan, and even then thats not foolproof. Though we'd be mostly safe with that since you can hold your quirk for around 30 minutes currently, correct Izuku?"
"Yeah but I'm more worried about other peoples quir-
Their brainstorming session was rudely interrupted when Mei barged over. "Material girl, Izuku team up with me." She threw her thumb out and pointed to herself.
"Eh sorry Mei, we're going as a group of 2, besides it'll be boring watching us. I'd recommend going and teaming up with Bakugo or Todoroki otherwise you won't get any exposure."
The invention girl deflated after hearing that but ultimately accepted. "Good luck you two."
"Alright so since we don't have enough room to fly safely without going over the borders let's go with my 2nd plan. Alright so here's what we're gonna do."
Roughly 15 minutes after Midnight announced the ending of the planning phase.
Bakugo noticed the nerds were teamed up again, god this stupid power couple bullshit was really getting on his nerves, plus he wouldn't admit it but they were a problem when put on the same team. His own team being that support extra, shitty hair, and alien girl. Bakugo scoffed when pink dreads walked over here asking to be on his team but after he saw a couple of her inventions he had to admit she'd be pretty useful to have. He was driven out of his thoughts by the sound of the announcer. Fuck! He was better than getting distracted.
READY START!
"Well isn't this a sight, the power duo of the first round are together again and only as a two man team and it seems Yaoyorozu has strapped herself to Midoriya with a harness? I guess this way it's impossible for Yaoyorozu to fall off unless Midoriya himself falls over but I have to admit it doesn't look very heroic ... or good. I wonder what their plan for this round is Eraser." Mic asked his friend.
"They seem to want to play keep away and this way maximizes their mobility, after all they just need to run away to win this round." Though Aizawa was immediately proven wrong in his conjecture.
"You ready Momo?" Izuku asked his rider.
"Yeah we got this Izuku." She flashed him a smile and with that Izuku charged straight into Bakugo.
Momo pulled off her head band and immediately thrust it into Bakugo's hands. "Here! Consider it a gift!" She yelled towards Bakugo while running past them.
"What the fuck! COME BACK HERE! I'M EARNING THIS SHIT FAIR AND SQUARE I DON'T NEED YOUR FUCKING HANDOUTS!" Bakugo screamed at the fleeing couple before noticing all eyes had switched to him.
Mina quickly screamed up from beneath the explosive teen. "Who cares how we got it, we gotta focus on keeping it now!" She followed this by throwing viscous acid out as a shield to defend from the tape she saw Sero shooting at them.
"She's right Bakubro, let's do it man!" Kirishima added.
"FUCK! I DON'T NEED YOU TWO TO TELL ME THAT! GRRRRRRRAAAAHHH FUCK, ALRIGHT WE STICK TO OUR ORIGINAL PLAN!" Bakugo screamed before unleashing a smoke screen in front of him.
"What was that? They just ... gave up the Ten Million Points?! What a surprising move from Team Yaoyorozu." Present Mic definitely hadn't seen that one before.
"It's not a bad plan actually, now no one will be targeting them and they're free to target other groups. It seems they don't want first place, just the ability to move on." Why can Aizawa never predict what that stupid problem child is about to do, he sighed for like the 40th time this day alone.
Izuku immediately ran to the outer ring looking around trying to absorb the chaos before him in, Momo was set facing backwards on the harness so she could watch their back, she trusted Izuku to move them where they needed to go. Izuku spotted his first target a group of people from 1-B who were aggressively attacking Bakugo's team Izuku ran by using Silencer and Jetstream to launch himself past them while using Tempo to make sure he could grab the headband accurately. It reminded him of his battle with Shigaraki if he was being honest, a game of tag, though one with much less consequences. He took the now stolen headband and passed it onto Momo. "One down like 6 to go, you good up there?"
"Yeah I'm just making sure no one gets close, it's a good thing I asked about tranquilizers and they ended up being legal since Kaminari would basically be quirkless in here if he couldn't electrocute people to stun them." Momo shouted back down to her horse. She took aim and started picking off Riders left and right, she was using a relatively weak version of her formula but with this she could make it easier for Izuku to grab headbands as they flew by.
"Is team Yaoyorozu tranquilizing people?! Is that even allowed Eraserhead!?" Mic was starting to see why Aizawa had such faith in his students as he watched them tear through the competition grabbing headbands left and right. The combination of Midoriya's mobility and Yaoyorozu's tranquilizer was insane to watch.
"Yes they are but even I must say I wasn't expecting this tactic. The speed they have from only having 2 members is giving them a large guerilla style attack advantage, most of the Teams don't even seem to be aware they're missing a headband because they are all too focused on the Ten Million Points ... or their rider is unconscious." The camera then cut to one such unfortunate individual who limply hanging as his mules tried to keep him from falling off. Aizawa then looked at the scoreboard and noticed almost half of 1-A was down in the dumps point wise. With the exception of Yaoyorozu's, Bakugo's and Todoroki's team, about what he expected honestly.
The one sided pillaging continued for a good ten minutes and the riders finally began to start waking up. Drowsy and confused as to where their points were only for their horses to explain the situation to them.
Momo immediately realized she made her formula too weak and started to worry, in her efforts to make sure she didn't have to worry about anyone overdosing they weren't staying out of it long enough. "They may start to come for us Izuku, I don't think they'll be too happy that I used a sedative on them."
Izuku looked around and had to agree with the girl's assessment. "Alright Momo that's enough were in 2nd place, people are going to start hunting us now. Let's just kick it back over here by the edge and wait this out. If anyone starts coming towards us you know what to do." He said to the person riding on his back.
"Sounds good to me Izu and there's no way enough people will get the points necessary to drop out of the top 4 places anyway." Momo shifted, getting up and rearranging herself to see forward so that she could snipe anyone who came for them.
They lasted another 2 minutes this way but then at minute 12 it started. They had finally been noticed by the people who had woken up and just like Momo had correctly asserted none were too happy about they had done. The first to start charging them was Monoma and his team of Tsunotori, Itsuka, and Bondo. "Ah you 1-A rejects, I have come to repay you for the gracious gift you gave me earlier."
Izuku and Momo both spotted the object he was holding was one of Momo's tranq darts.
"To think UA'd allow such tomfooler-" Monoma slumped over again causing his team to have to panic and ensure the boy did not touch the floor.
His team then just looked at Momo incredulously. "Really? Again?" Itsuka was the first to talk.
Momo just shrugged. "He was the one pulling a monologue. Anyway I see a large number of teams coming this way so we'll be on our way now."
Izuku just gave them a wave as he watched them struggle to keep Monoma from falling, the greenette started laughing as he dashed off carrying Momo. "I love you by the way."
Momo was about to respond to Izuku but then noticed an attack from Bondo. "Izuku behind us!"
Izuku then noticed the large amount of glue flying towards them, clearly revenge from Bondo for knocking out Monoma again. Izuku turned slightly and blasted the glue back at the person who fired it with Jetstream.
A satisfying yelp followed by irate screaming was all Izuku could hear as he kept running.
This left team Monoma with an unconscious leader and the rest covered in Bondo's glue. Bondo saw the rage on Itsuka's face and paled a bit. "Sorry."
"I'm going to kill them, I'm actually going to murder them." Itsuka could feel her veins popping out.
Poor Tsunotori was just crying.
"That should slow down the others as well, in fact Momo start making glue bombs and throwing them around us as well."
The girl nodded from above him and started throwing glue everywhere as they backed themselves into a corner opposite from the first one they were hiding at. From their new vantage point they could see the rest of the teams duking it out with no risk of someone sneaking up on them. Over the next minute there were a few close calls but after seeing what happened to the people who got too close to Momo many of the other teams simply chose to hunt other prey. The combination of Momo throwing glue everywhere and Izuku's ability to deflect any projectiles that tried to reach them with Jetstream made them think they were in the clear, especially since there was only one minute left.
That was until Todoroki finally took notice of them. Izuku locked eyes with Todoroki and immediately the heterochromatic teen started making his way with his team of Iida, Kaminari, and Jirou.
"Momo!" The boy quickly shouted to get her attention. "It's Todoroki! We can't let him get close, shoot him!" Momo responded by unloading into Todoroki who merely used his fireside to melt the rounds enroute. She didn't have enough time to create fire retardant rounds before a glacier was dropped on them and Izuku seeing what was coming took this moment to dash as fast as he could to the right using the small exit Momo had left in the glue for them, hopefully evading the incoming iceberg.
Without fire or decay the greenette couldn't just stop the ice wave like normal and he was NOT pulling out another quirk here. However the extra weight Momo was adding to him slowed him down just enough for Todoroki to connect. Izuku's left leg was unfortunately caught by the edge of the attack, well as long as didn't fall over he was fine. He managed to rip his leg from the glacier just in time to avoid a second. Space was quickly becoming an issue here though, at least they only had to last 30 more seconds.
"Momo just keep firing it'll trip him up." Izuku was shouting desperately at this point.
Izuku leaped over the next batch of ice thrown at him, using Todoroki's previous attack to get the necessary height. But they just kept coming as clearly the boy was using his fire side to keep him from getting hypothermia. If that wasn't bad enough Jirou kept trying to steal their handbands with her jacks. Desperate at this point Momo started using 15% flicks to divert them away from the two.
"Mo anything you can make here that'd help?! We only need to last a bit longer!" Izuku was frantically diving beneath another wave of ice using Jetstream to kind of slow it down but not by much. They glue they had made earlier was definitely hurting them now since Todoroki's team didn't need to move to win this battle while they did.
"G-got it Izu." Momo whipped another gun and fired it at Todoroki who understandably tried to use his fire to destroy it however the net continued unphased by the heat. She giddly watched her creation manage to entangle her foes before speaking. "Fire retardent net gun."
"Good job, let's get out of here befor-" Izuku was cut off as Jirou started blasting them with her quirk.
"Sorry Yaomomo, not gonna make it that easy for you. Now Todoroki!"
The boy took no time firing his next ice wave which connected freezing most of Izuku's body making him unable to move despite his attempts to the contrary.
"Midoriya I can't allow you to proceed to the next round you're too dangerous. Forgive me for th-." The boy slumped over, a dart in his neck.
"Thank god Momo holy shit that was close." Of course their short celebration was ruined via an explosive teen who'd managed to lose his team charging them, thankfully right before he made contact the event ended and they successfully kept all their points. Which caused their assailant to angrily groan from his position on the floor.
"Absolutely now let's get you out of there before you freeze okay?" Added giggling a bit as she proceeded to break the ice with a combination of One for All and a hammer she made.
Once free Izuku pointed to the board, Momo quickly looked before proceeding to hug him. "We did it."
"Yeah we did."
Team Bakugo -1st Place
Team Yaoyorozu - 2nd Place
Team Todoroki - 3rd Place
Team Shinsou - 4th Place
Wait where did Shinsou come from he was nowhere the top of the board the last time he'd checked eh it doesn't matter. "We did it Momo!"
Bakugo was forced to watch the two hug despite winning he felt like he'd lost somehow. The fuckers weren't even trying for first place, hell they were in an entirely different game from him. The thought irritated him so he got up and left.
"What an explosive round everybody. Let's put our hands together for all the competitors, and don't worry if you didn't pass we have events for all the competitors to do while we construct the arena for the final event. Oh, a word from umpire, it seems because only 14 people passed 2 members of Team Monoma will advance to the final round as well. Please pick two of your members to put forward. With that we're taking an hour long lunch break, we'll be back in no time flat audience!" Mic sighed glad he could drop the persona for a bit.
Aizawa was grinning beneath his bandages. "Worried yet?"
Mic faux cringed. "You really like that Midoriya kid, I'm kind of surprised you've never been like towards any of your students before."
"I can see his potential plus you know the whole saved my life thing. I'll never say it his face but I like the little shit." Aizawa smirked.
"What universe are we in where Aizawa Shouta develops a soft spot. Either way he still has to win one more round before he gets into the top 10 but i'll be honest he's likely to win it." Mic sighed realizing his wallet was likely to get smaller in the future.
Izuku checked his phone on the way to the cafeteria, it seems he, Momo, Todoroki, and Bakugo were the favorites to win the whole thing. "You seen the news? People think your gonna win. Nervous yet?"
Momo just sighed "Please don't I'm already a wreck, I don't need you making it worse." They were stopped by the sight of Endeavour in the hallway.
"Ah yes I have been looking for you, you'll be the perfect test for my Shouto, he's finally accepted himself and is using his fire. You with the super strength and creation ability are like All Might you will be a suitable step on Shouto's path to becoming the number 1." Momo didn't know why but her boyfriend was leveling the father of Todoroki with a glare she's never seen from him before. Before she could say anything Izuku just grabbed her hand and walked off pulling her with him.
"Don't ignore me boy! Respect your elders!" Endeavour spat at them as they left.
Izuku turned to look at the man with a look of sheer hatred. "Never come near me or this girl ever again if you know what's good for you you flaming pile of garbage. I know what you've done, the principal knows too, it won't be long till all comes crashing down number 2." Izuku spat back at the man, now Momo was really confused what had Endeavour done? She saw the startled face of the number 2 but she let herself get pulled by Izuku.
"Soooooo what was that all about Izuku?" Momo was very worried at this point she'd only ever seen him act like that around Bakugo.
"He's a bad person I don't want to say but since it seems he'll be concerning himself with us, he's abused the entirety of the Todoroki family. He drove his wife insane, caused the death of one of his sons, neglected the others and beat Todoroki calling it training. That man is a pile of feces!" Izuku slammed his fist into the wall causing small cracks to appear. "Sorry Momo he just reminds me of my father and I hate my father."
She remembered when Izuku had shown up at the beach suddenly having gained the ability to breathe fire and telling her it was his father's quirk. He never did elaborate on that but if this was anything to go by he didn't need to. She pulled him into a hug telling him it'd be alright. "Let's just go get lunch okay Izu? It'll give us some time to relax."
Izuku merely nodded before giving her a peck on her cheek.
They were being watched however by a girl with gravity defying powers. She saw the kiss and something in her broke, she ran away crying. 'Why couldn't it have been her?'
