The frog and the horse took flight toward the house in the forest, landing near it and leaving the two dwarves behind. Then, they dived beneath the cover of the trees, and a flood of tears flowed behind them from every valley until they reached the Wild Clock.
Written upon the clock were the tears of Kabyli—king of the castle—alongside those of his warriors and the tears of Sula.
Yet, the Civil Clock was accelerating. The Earth drew dangerously close to the sun, time surged forward, and the world entered the era of robotics. The city teemed with people, while the Dragon and the Wild Cat still fought alongside the men of Al-Alayin. All the laboratories were transformed into an automated system designed to gather battle intelligence and transmit it directly to the frontlines.
And amidst it all, the frog and the horse froze in their own tears.
