When Hen Zeyu got home, his mom immediately sensed that something was different about him today. As she was scooping rice, she asked, "What happened today to make you so happy?"
Hen Zeyu took the bowl and started eating while telling his mom about what happened at school. "They're just thanking us for helping out, so each person got a box of apples."
"If their family is having such a hard time, doesn't taking their apples make things even harder for them?"
"We couldn't not take them. Her brother brought them over and insisted they're free, and he wouldn't leave unless we accepted them. So we all just took them."
"These apples look really nice. I'll wash one for you to try."
"Okay."
Hen Zeyu's mom washed the apple and even cut it into little pieces. Since Hen Zeyu was eating, he didn't bother being polite—he used his chopsticks to pick up a small piece and stuffed it right into his mouth. In an instant, the apple won him over. "Oh wow, Mom, this apple is insanely good!"
