After a while, we finally finished eating.

Not the kind of good where you nod politely and say, yeah, that was nice, but the kind where you sit there for a second afterward, staring at the table, wondering how something that simple could taste that satisfying. The flavors lingered. Warm, rich, and even comforting. It was the kind of meal that didn't just fill your stomach—it settled somewhere deeper.

No—scratch that. I was stuffed.
My stomach was actually sticking out, pushing slightly against my shirt, and when I leaned back, I could feel the dull, pleasant heaviness weighing me down.
