Shane continued following the Elves as they traveled deeper into the forest.
There were still several hours before the Zombie Wave began, but that didn't mean the surrounding area was safe. In fact, the forest was already filled with wandering Zombies that had gathered from the nearby settlements.
The Elves seemed well aware of this.
They didn't walk carelessly or allow their formation to become disorganized. The stronger Elves stayed near the front and rear, while the others remained in the middle. Every now and then, one of them would scan the surrounding trees, checking for anything that might be following them.
Shane kept his distance.
With his current disguise, he looked no different from the ordinary Zombies wandering through the forest. However, he still had to be careful. The Elves were experienced fighters, and he didn't want to give them a reason to examine him more closely.
It didn't take long before their first encounter occurred.
