Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 - Paranomal activity

The group following the handsome man all stood frozen, staring at the creepy gate. The two men Chu Siyan had observed earlier had already disappeared into the dark fog.

"Everyone, I'm about to tell you something very important. Inside this compound is extremely dangerous. I need all of you to follow every single one of my instructions if you want to survive, okay?" He kindly smiled down at them. "I will protect all of you and help you pass this level."

"Thank you, thank you so much." A few of them looked up at him like he was their savior.

That wasn't the case for Chu Siyan.

This handsome older brother seemed very suspicious. If he was really an experienced player who had already gone through three levels, why was he here again? Something must have brought him back here. It was definitely not his kind heart or a desire to save people.

He had played enough online games to realize this much, but the group of young men and women seemed completely blind to it.

Chu Siyan sighed and walked into the fog.

The distinct scent of iron still lingered all around him. It was stifling.

He placed a hand over his nose and slowly proceeded, taking one step at a time.

"Young man, wait." The handsome man ran up to him, followed by the group of four. "Join us. Going in there alone is practically the same as jumping into a death pit. As a group, we can conquer this round."

If it had been anyone else who asked him, Chu Siyan might have considered it.

But since this annoying man was the one asking, he didn't even bother answering.

He simply walked away, keeping a good distance between himself and the group.

"Lunatic," the man whispered under his breath.

Thanks to his keen sense of hearing, Chu Siyan caught that.

He had been stuck inside a glass room all his life, and his sense of hearing had developed to the point where he could hear what people were saying outside his glass walls.

That really came in handy.

Even while walking, he could hear the footsteps of the two people ahead of him. He simply followed behind them.

After a few meters, he suddenly froze.

The footsteps ahead of him had changed.

Another set of footsteps had joined them.

Chu Siyan's mind raced as he tried to figure out how that was possible.

Suddenly, the blood drained from his face.

The cover of the Xbox disk flashed through his mind. There had been a woman dressed in white, her hair completely covering her face.

She was obviously a ghost.

'This is a ghost simulation game… Fuck…'

The name of the game had been a dead giveaway, but he had ignored it all along.

Now that he had realized what kind of game this was, he began to tremble subtly.

His brain feared the possibility, but his heart was pounding loudly with anticipation.

He had always been a thrill junkie, but after his health had deteriorated, his brother had banned him from watching any movies that gave him even the slightest sense of thrill.

Now that he was actually inside a ghost simulator game, he was kind of excited.

'At least after death, I'm able to experience so many things… I smelled grass. I smelled dust again… Wow. I think I'll like this game.'

His steps even developed a subtle bounce as he continued farther inside.

The third set of footsteps was completely different from those of the trench-coat guy and the man in the red shirt.

It sounded like the person was walking with a limp.

'The ghost is walking with a limp. Is that from a wound…? I need to check it out…' he noted mentally.

The fog gradually cleared, revealing a huge building standing before him.

The two men ahead of him had already walked up the stairs. The man in the trench coat took the lead and knocked on the door.

Chu Siyan curiously looked around.

The third person was gone.

'Where did the ghost go…?'

At that moment, the door opened with a creepy creaking sound.

A tall young woman stood there wearing tiny shorts and a tank top. She smiled at them.

"You guys are here. Come in." She cheerfully threw the door open, exposing a small, narrow hallway that led to a more spacious hall.

Chu Siyan stood outside, staring at her curiously.

'Is this girl an NPC or a player?'

The girl hurriedly glanced at him.

"Young sir, aren't you coming in? It's getting dark… It's dangerous to stay outside." She said it with a strange look on her face.

There was one major point hidden in her sentence.

When she said it was getting dark, it was possible that something might appear once darkness fell.

'But is it even possible to kill a person who is already dead…?'

Panic flashed across the young woman's face.

"Sir… it's getting dark," she urged him again.

He could hear subtle footsteps behind him.

Without a doubt, it was that third person who had been walking alongside them.

He glanced back, but the fog obscured his vision.

"Get in."

Another masculine voice suddenly called out.

The man in the trench coat was looking down at him coldly. Under the glowing yellow light of the sorority house, Chu Siyan finally got a clear look at his face.

He had sharp, upturned eyes and a masculine jaw. His lips were slightly on the thinner side, while his handsome brows were furrowed as he peered down at him.

Chu Siyan walked up the stairs and stopped in front of him.

"Will we die if we stay outside?"

"Yes."

He said it curtly before turning around and walking inside.

Chu Siyan followed after him blankly.

"Will we really die if we're killed here? Do we have an extra life or something? Any healing bandages?"

The man gave him a strange look.

"Death is death."

He simply said that before leaving Chu Siyan standing by the doorway.
