- Milim Nava -
She pouted as she looked at Frey, who was forcing her to go through some of the requests of the Dragon Faithful. "Why do I have to do this Frey?!" She whined out.
Frey sighed for the upteenth time. "It is important that you understand your people's needs, Milim. Middray and Arc cannot do everything for you."
Her pout remained but she knew Frey had a point.
"I know you want to visit Felix, but wait for a little bit. I'm sure he's busy with the aftermath of the mess in Ruberious." Frey said.
Felix… she would give him a stern talking to for leaving her out of the fun! That wasn't nice. She wanted to fight some weaklings and show off too! She had enjoyed the fight they both had, but that didn't mean she'd forgive him easily!
She wasn't even really going all out in that fight. Sure, she was using Satanael, Lord of Wrath a bit, and she threw around some stardust, but she wasn't truly using it to its fullest potential. If she had, then a single Drago Nova from her would shatter the entire Cardinal World, let alone the tiny dimension they were in.
She hadn't even been using her super awesome Invisible Barrier made of stardust much, or using Asura to its fullest potential either. After all, Asura was no mere God Grade scimitar, it was more than that. But she wouldn't tell Felix. She had to keep some surprises in store for their future fights!
And her Invisible Barrier was the strongest barrier she'd heard of. Even Guy would fail to get through it. It was a simple barrier around her that was made of stardust. Of course, stardust was incredibly difficult to control, but she was Milim Nava so she got it down easy!
If she wanted, she could have placed it around her and tanked all of Felix's strikes, but that would be boring.
Though Felix's sheer speed surprised her. He was actually moving faster than her at a certain point, which was a surprise. She wasn't particularly specced into speed, but it came as a side consequence to being as strong as she was, but even then she could count the amount of people faster than her on one hand, with Felix now being added to that number.
She had been in Tempest until some time ago when Rimuru asked her to go back to her territory as he said some things were going to be happening and that it was best if she returned to her territory just in case.
She may have been rather carefree but she took the safety of her people seriously, so she returned just in case. She had no reason to doubt Rimuru after all. Though in the end, nothing happened.
Now she knew why Rimuru said that. He probably thought that whoever was messing with Luminous might mess with her too for whatever reason.
Wait… did he know too!? No fair! They both kept it secret from her? Why would they do that? She'd have to give Rimuru a stern talking to as well now.
She was in Tempest back then because she took it upon herself to train Gobta and Ranga for her own amusement, originally. Both of them were pretty funny and she was curious about them.
She had gotten a bit interested in them after the Tempest Tournament, their ability to merge into one was useful and interesting. The stronger each was individually, the stronger they would be together. She wondered what sort of effects it could have on them if they were stronger, or if one was a Spiritual Lifeform and the other was not. There were quite a few possibilities.
The two had grown stronger under her tutelage as well. They were now firmly on the level of a good Demon Lord Seed when combined. Ranga made up the majority of the energy reserves, while Gobta was the one with the technique. While individually they were lacking, when combined they were able to cover each other's weaknesses rather well.
They might even give Frey a challenge now. Especially with Veldora's Storm Magic that Ranga used, which if used well, could even harm Spiritual Lifeforms.
Though for some reason, Frey would only look at them with pity whenever she saw them. Frey had also been undergoing her own training under Middray and had tagged along before when she had gone to train Ranga and Gobta one time. When she offered to train Frey as well, Frey declined her for some reason while looking around nervously.
Still, even if Frey refused to learn under her, Middray was also an excellent teacher. She still remembered how weak he used to be when he first asked to serve her. Back then, she didn't really care so she agreed, but he grew on her.
Frey had also grown a bit stronger under Middray. Middray and Frey had different styles of fighting, but Middray's experience allowed him to assist Frey, even if he wasn't quite familiar with her style of combat.
If she ever became a True Demon Lord, then she'd be pretty strong, which was good. She couldn't be the only one without strong minions! Arc had been growing stronger too as an Arch Daemon. He wasn't on the level of those Daemon Dukes Felix had, but he was steadily making his way there.
Raiden had also been training with Middray. She had gone to watch some of their training sessions and she was pretty impressed. Raiden was probably the strongest Dragon alive right below Middray. She didn't count the True Dragons in that tier as Dragons and True Dragons were entirely different beings.
It was like comparing a Giant and an ant.
However, the most interesting things she encountered in The Dungeon were actually related to Felix. Apparently he had a big fight in the Dungeon and his Aura leaked through the dimensions of the Dungeon, according to Ramiris.
Something like that was pretty absurd to think about, but Felix had grown strong. She still remembered when he was a little teeny-tiny Arch Daemon, not even having a name. Compared to then, even 10,000 Arch Daemon versions of him would be only a drop in comparison.
She was happy for him. Being strong allowed one to do as they pleased in this world and protect their loved ones. A lesson she learned far too late, seeing as she had lost basically everything for that lesson to embed itself in her mind.
She kept the smile on her face even as her thoughts went to the past before shaking her head. All that didn't matter anymore. She had Gaia back, after all, and had all the friends she needed. Gaia was currently sleeping in the corner of the room.
She thought back to what she observed in the Dungeon. Thanks to Felix's Aura leaking through the Dungeon, there were some Monsters that were born from Felix's remnant energy. It was only natural.
They weren't that strong, but they inherited Felix's spatial affinity, so she played with them a bit. They didn't have an ego, but maybe in a few decades, a few would develop egos on their own. She didn't kill any of them as that would be mean. They were the sorta not-kids of her bestie! She would be nice to them!
Charybdis was a special case for being born as strong as she was because it was born from Veldora's leaking Aura. Aura that he had been leaking for years, and she was the concentrated result of all the Aura. Felix's Aura spawned multiple Monsters, so the power was split between all of them.
If there was only one born, then she wouldn't have been surprised if a Charybdis level Monster was born.
She wondered if Felix knew about them? She'd have to tell him if he didn't. His reaction would probably be pretty funny.
She had also heard about the attack on Luminous's domain from Frey. Apparently, some small fry attacked Luminous's capital city. There were tons of Monsters and everything too! It would have been fun to beam them all to death. It wasn't often that she got occasions to show off!
She sighed and got back to work, but she was internally scheming how to extort Felix for the most amount of sweets.
She was Milim Nava, and she would not be denied. "Muhahaha!"
Frey jumped in surprise at her sudden burst of laughter before sighing.
But for now, her immediate challenge was figuring out who to send to Tempest to act as her territory's ambassador, since according to Frey, that was needed… for some reason.
- Guy Crimson -
With a snap of his fingers, a portal formed in front of him, one that led directly to Tempest's capital city. The barriers that Rimuru had installed were far from enough to stop him, at least unless Rimuru was actively reinforcing the barriers. The Slime had an Ultimate Skill, the least he could do was make proper barriers when trying.
He could feel the power of an Ultimate Skill vaguely behind the barriers that his portal bypassed, but without any active reinforcement, mere barriers would not be enough to stop him.
Felix has said that Rimuru was the current possessor of Uriel, Lord of Vows. That kind of Skill only formed in those with certain characters; those with ambition. It just so happened that it specialized in spatial management, and even Skill Creation. Though Guy doubted that specific function had been passed down in the newer versions of Uriel, Lord of Vows.
In reality, the first Ultimate Skill of Velda's wasn't Michael, Lord of Justice, it was Uriel, Lord of Vows, which was used to create the rest.
His lips twitched into a frown as he thought of all the work that had been thrown in his lap.
Damn Rudra. Damn Felix. Damn Rimuru.
Someone had gained influence and possibly even control over the Council of the West, which was a bit troublesome. Mostly because he couldn't afford to just kill them and reset humanity… again.
As the Mediator, it was his job to make sure balance was kept in the world, and a Demon Lord having such control over the Western Nations could cause some chaos if known. People had attempted to do similar things in the past, but they always failed. He never even had to interfere, but this time things were different.
The Council was still making moves to further help Tempest and Azeroth, which only increased his suspicion of Felix and Rimuru having control over the Council.
Rimuru was the one who was in a meeting with them recently, so Guy believed that he was responsible for this. Or at the very least, the Slime may know what had happened for such a thing to occur.
Either that, or Rimuru gave the Council one hell of a deal, to the point that they were all practically scrambling to help Tempest's interests. Knowing how nobles were though, Guy doubted that would be the case.
His gut told him that something was going on in the background of the Council of the West.
So he planned to visit Rimuru to understand his intentions a bit. Rimuru was a valuable piece on his board as a Demon Lord with an Ultimate Skill, so Guy would not isolate him. He just merely wished to understand the Slime and his goals.
He had also come to visit Dagruel upon the True Giant's request. Something like that was extremely unusual so Guy humored him.
Dagruel knew of the role that Veldanava had given him, and so they cooperated from time to time. Him as the Mediator, and Dagruel as the guard to the Heavenly Star Palace.
Dagruel was extremely loyal to Veldanava, and so Veldanava stationed him to be the door keeper of the Heaven Tower which served as one of the entrances to the Heavenly Star Palace. That was the place Veldanava was born, and the center of the multiverse.
Only a few individuals had a key that allowed them to be transported directly to the Heavenly Star Palace, and he was not one of them.
Dagruel told him that Feldway was perhaps planning something. That made him concerned.
Feldway was the first being Velda ever created, the first Primordial Angel, and perhaps Velda's favorite Angel as well. Feldway was the classic spoiled noble child who threw a tantrum when he did not get what he wanted.
Guy was surprised that Feldway didn't attempt to destroy the world back when Velda died out of retaliation. In fact, Dino threw more of a tantrum than Feldway, which was rather surprising.
Back then, Dino was Veldanava's obedient and diligent Angel, so what he did was extremely out of character. Veldanava's loss hit everyone hard.
Guy had thought that perhaps Feldway had some growth and wouldn't place the blame on the wrong people, and perhaps that was true.
But from what Dagruel had said, Guy was beginning to doubt it.
Feldway had asked for the release of Fenn. He wouldn't ask for something like that with good intentions. Feldway knew full well what Fenn was like. He was a rampaging True Giant similar to how Veldora used to be, except unlike Veldora, Fenn did not change.
Dagruel refused of course.
Guy frowned as he made his way towards the portal. Rain was following behind him with a neutral expression, but he knew her well enough to know she was worried. She may have seemed like a waste of space, but that didn't apply 100% of the time.
"Feldway… that bastard's never known when to give up." Guy muttered, his crimson eyes narrowing. "I was starting to think he had finally accepted reality, but I suppose I was too optimistic."
He knew that Feldway likely had some asinine plan involving Veldanava. Feldway was obsessed with Velda. He was Feldway's God, his entire purpose for living. While many of the other Primordial Angels had found other things to enjoy in life, Feldway remained the same, stagnant.
Rain crossed her arms. "It's strange, though. If he wanted to start trouble, why now? Feldway's not stupid. He wouldn't make a move unless he thought he had an actual shot at something. And if he's asking for Fenn, then…"
He smiled, it seems this was one of the few times when Rain would actually contribute to the conversation, a true rarity.
Guy clicked his tongue. "Then he wants destruction. Fenn isn't a strategist. He's a literal force of nature; a mindless beast that does nothing but destroy whatever is in his path. Feldway wouldn't need him unless he was planning to use that destruction as a distraction or a precursor to something bigger."
Just like Dagruel, Fenn also possessed Magic Nullification. While something like that wouldn't stop him, it would cause some trouble to others.
He took a step forward, the space around him shifting and bending as he exited into the atmosphere of Tempest. He took a deep breath, enjoying the magicule rich air.
Tempest had a unique air about it. One that was rich in magicules, but not too rich.
Rain gave a slight tilt of her head. "You fought Lord Dagruel once, didn't you?"
Guy let out a chuckle. "Fought? If you can call it that. I beat him up, so I'm not personally worried about Fenn, just what Feldway could be planning."
Dagruel's technique was far above Fenn's, so he was the greater threat.
In the end, Fenn wouldn't be a threat to him. However, if a war of some sorts did happen, that's when Guy would become worried, as there were not many people capable of dispatching a True Giant with Magic Nullification. There was a chance that he would be busy with something else at the time and Fenn would have free reign to mess with the world Veldanava created.
Thankfully, he had some new, rather reliable allies, and he trusted them if that kind of thing happened.
Still, a Daemon's greatest strength was their magic. Having that nullified would be a big setback in a fight. He was one of the few with Fighting Spirit powerful enough to be capable of damaging a True Giant as durable as Dagruel.
Not to mention if there was a war, there would be Feldway to worry about.
As the favorite Angel of God, Feldway possessed a power that Guy could not ignore. His vessel was personally created by Veldanava and was on par with that of a True Dragon's. On top of that, Veldanava bestowed Feldway with a Genesis Grade weapon; a weapon that could quite literally change the tides of a war between beings such as them.
Genesis Grade weapons were not to be underestimated. There was a reason he didn't use his own often.
Feldway likely also grew more powerful over the years. Feldway was the Phantom King and resided in the Underworld. The same dimension that the Insectars originated from. The same dimension that Ivarage was sealed in.
Time flowed differently between the Underworld and the Cardinal World, so it could have been eons for Feldway, and only 2,000 years in the Cardinal World. The amount of growth Feldway could achieve if he trained would be just as troublesome. In the past Feldway wasn't as skilled, he imagined even Glassord, Dagruel's younger brother and a rather excellent swordsman was superior in direct combat skill when compared to Feldway.
But as Guy himself learned, sometimes eons of stagnation could be followed by a century of overwhelming progress that would distinguish oneself from their former self with ease.
Rain tapped her chin. "You said Fenn was like Veldora in the past. Then if Feldway is releasing Fenn, it's probably not because he expects Fenn to help him take over the world."
"No." Guy's smirk faded. "It's because he wants to tear the world apart. How annoying."
Velda really didn't give him an easy job, the bastard.
He truly hoped that Feldway did not decide to set whatever plan he had in motion at the same time the war with Rudra finally kicked off.
He would be rather disappointed if the war that had been brewing for thousands of years would be ruined because of some Angel with daddy issues, but that was looking more and more likely.
He hadn't been that interested in the game Rudra suggested at first; he already knew what the outcome would be, after all. Even back then he could defeat Rudra if he wanted to, he just didn't want to ruin what they had.
With their spars, he was able to slowly refine his abilities, allowing him to match and then surpass Rudra. Part of this was because of Rudra's Ultimate Skill, which was holding him back.
Due to Michael's power and Rudra's incompatibility with it, he could only use its abilities for a few seconds at a time. While a disadvantage at first, Rudra managed to make the most of this by activating Castle Guard as they struck one another, nullifying Guy's power, and then he would deactivate it right before their blades would meet. At that moment, he would release all his power into his weapon, Deva, allowing him to win a good number of their clashes.
He could not copy Michael's Castle Guard, as in order for the ability of a Skill to be registered under his own Lucifer, he needed to fully understand the ability and its underlying mechanisms.
Castle Guard was an extremely complex ability, one of the most complex he had ever seen. It created an impenetrable barrier that would forbid the use of Skills, Magic, energy, and even aura within its bounds. Meaning only Haki and swordsmanship were the way to win when Castle Guard was activated.
It was meant to be the absolute defense for God, so the amount of Laws it made use of was vast, and even with his vast computational power, Guy could not understand it enough to recreate it.
It was a shame, but he was not torn up about it at this point.
Sometimes he considered whether Rudra would have been more powerful if he kept Uriel, Lord of Vows, but what happened, happened.
Rudra would even place holy barriers around their battlefield ahead of time to weaken him, and even then he only just barely managed to fight him to a tie. Without those holy barriers, Rudra would lose, and Rudra knew it.
And so the game began. At that point, he was only going along with it for the sake of his friend.
But after Velda and Lucia's death, Rudra seemed to be in a funk of some kind. It had been years by that point and Rudra still hadn't gotten himself together, so he paid his friend a visit.
Their talk consisted of him taunting Rudra saying that he was a loser and that Guy won the game by default. Of course then Rudra's pride got in the way of that and the game began once more.
He had hoped that as the centuries passed, Rudra would cheer up and perhaps even move on. He was not certain whether his hopes had come true or not at this point.
He sighed. He didn't know why he was thinking of the past now. Perhaps, since knowing their game would be coming to an end soon, he was getting sad.
When he first came to this world, he had never imagined what would take place in it. He hadn't believed he could come to care for another as he did for those that became close to him in this world.
The world Velda created was truly quite special.
- Rimuru Tempest -
He sighed as he left the classroom he was teaching the kids in.
He didn't teach them often like he used to back when he was a teacher at the Freedom Academy, but he still tried to make time for them, even with his busy schedule. It helped distract him from everything that was going on.
He only taught them the more basic things such as Aura Manipulation and such things. They were the basics, but the basics only got more and more important as you grew stronger, so it was important that he drilled it into their heads how important that was.
He believed that Elmesia was likely also doing something similar with Kenya. Elmesia was a competent Saint, so she likely knew how to train Kenya best, so he wouldn't worry about Kenya. Especially seeing as Elmesia may just have some of Sarion's old diaries that held some advice that would be useful to Kenya.
He had just told the kids about the possibility of returning to their old worlds, and most of them were excited for something like that. He had them all sign contracts of course so the information couldn't leave the room.
Those who weren't as excited to go back to their old worlds were the ones who didn't have much left for them there.
Alice was an orphan for example, she said she preferred Tempest to her old world, since she liked it here, so Rimuru wouldn't force her away or anything.
He knew that Kenya was also an orphan. He liked to think that was what allowed Kenya and Alice to bond. Alice may have acted like a tsundere with him, but he knew she cared for him.
He had told those who wanted to go to their old worlds that he would be sealing their powers off, leaving them as mostly normal humans. They would still have their way above average physiques, but there wasn't much he could do about that.
He would just need to trust them to not abuse the power they had in a world that didn't have much protections against such a thing. But they were good kids; he didn't believe that they would do anything like that.
It hadn't been that long since the attack on Ruberious was wrapped up. Only a couple days, in fact, so he still had some things to take care of.
What he heard from Felix about what Guy said was still on his mind. How all this was just a game between the first Demon Lord and first Hero. It made him upset, but there was nothing he could do at this point. He wasn't dumb enough to pick a fight with Guy Crimson of all people.
His anger was better channeled at more productive things. Like continuing to prepare for the war and growing stronger. He was pretty tired of being one of the weaker ones in their little group. Chloe had surpassed him now, he knew Felix was always stronger than him, and he saw that more than ever when Chronoa was being unsealed and she went on a rampage in another dimension.
The amount of power Chloe was releasing was on par with Veldora's, meaning she had an EP that was tens of times greater than his own. Her releasing that much energy at once would make it hard for Rimuru to even approach her normally, and yet Felix was mopping the floor with her. Though Chloe seemed to be confident that she would do much better in their next fight, which he believed.
He wasn't jealous or anything, but he didn't want to just be standing around as everyone else was fighting.
So he had been training with Hakurou more than he had in the past. He was far stronger than Hakurou in almost every way, however, Hakurou's technique was still incredible, enough that the old Oni still had things left to teach him. And with Raphael-sensei optimizing and modifying his combat style he was only getting better and better.
Not to mention the new ways of using his Ultimate Skills he came up with. He had realized just how underutilized Uriel, Lord of Vows was, when in reality it may just be his most powerful Skill.
'....'
'Ah! Most powerful combat Skill!'
'(^ o ^)'
He had actually gotten the idea from Chloe. She had said that Hinata made use of her Unique Skill: Absolute End a lot when dealing with Veldora.
He realized he could easily recreate the same exact phenomena as Absolute End, as it was practically just damaging someone by severing space and some spiritrons thrown in, and Uriel specializes in Spatial Manipulation. Not only that, Uriel could be used for far more, and he still felt like he was only reaching the tip of the iceberg when it came to that.
Maybe he should ask Felix for some tips?
But direct combat power wasn't the only thing that mattered.
It may have seemed easy, but depending on the type of battle that would be waged, Tempest would need to prepare. They needed to alter the terrain so that it would be more beneficial to his troops, prepare food and water supplies, forge more weapons, create more safe zones for the civilians, and more.
Even in a land of magic like the one he was in, war still had steps. Chloe had said that the Eastern Empire had good technology as well, so he wanted to prepare for a surprise nuke or something like that as well.
Thankfully, his own territory wasn't attacked by Granbell, so it didn't set his preparations back. But since Tempest was part of the Council of the West now, he was working on spreading the benefits Tempest offered around, which took up some of his time.
The nobles held the majority of the power, yes, but the citizens' support of Tempest would still help. Though he probably didn't need to worry too much about all that, seeing as Arcueid went all Demon Lord on the West and took control over the Council of the West.
It was kinda scary when you thought about it. The Council of the West was one of the largest governing bodies in the world and held a large portion of the territory on the magic continent, which was basically the main continent of this world, and Arcueid took complete control of that governing body in under an hour.
And with an Ultimate Skill and Divinity, even he didn't know how strong she was.
So it wasn't just her political power that made her fearsome, but her combat power as well.
She could totally separate from Felix if she wanted to and become a Demon Lord in her own right. Guy would probably accept her onto the Council, though he knew that wasn't possible. Ut wasn't that Felix wouldn't let her, but Arcueid herself wouldn't want such a thing; he knew that much about her.
Hell, she took control over the Council of the West for Felix! Felix wasn't the type to go out of his way for such a thing, and Felix only confirmed that when he said he didn't know she did that.
That insane Demoness did all that without being asked just to impress him!
Lucky bastard! But his Shuna was even better, umu!
Still, Daemons were a loyal bunch. He thought it was just Diablo at first, but even the Daemons that he recruited were super loyal.
'Notice. Analysis results are inconclusive on the Devil Lord Arcueid as the analysis was blocked.'
He sighed. 'It's all good, thanks for trying.'
He had tried to get Raphael-sensei to analyze Arcueid back when he first saw the change in her during the meeting, but she managed to block his analysis attempt, which is what tipped him off to her probably having an Ultimate Skill.
He had Raphael try again; trying to compile all the data he had on her to get something on her, but he ended up with nothing.
When Diablo heard about how Arcueid took control over the Council of the West, he got all teary eyed and began releasing some aura which he had to quickly suppress. Something about Arcueid beating him to the punch and him not forgiving her.
He didn't want to even know what Diablo was thinking, so he just left it at that. He hadn't told Diablo that Arcueid was now a Devil Lord and had an Ultimate Skill out of fear for what Diablo would do.
Knowing him, he would go on a training arc and come back as strong as Guy or something. But maybe that would be good?
He sighed again. With everything that had been going on, he had been doing that a lot. There was a lot he was worried about, especially because of what they theorized the abilities of Michael, Lord of Justice may be.
If it really was the "king" of the Angelic Skills, then he was in danger. In fact, he was a danger to everyone around him.
His Uriel, Lord of Vows, the Skill born from his hopes and dreams might just be the Skill that would ruin him, and there wasn't much he could even do about it.
Even Raphael-sensei, one of his closest companions since he came to this world, could also could be a weakness which sucked to think about.
'… Raphael, Lord of Wisdom has analyzed Uriel, Lord of Vows multiple times. No such function has been discovered.'
'But you aren't certain, are you?'
'…'
'It's fine, I don't blame you.'
If Michael did have that kind of function, it only made sense that it would be difficult for Raphael to discover it. Veldanava must have known Raphael's functions. He would have known how to hide whatever function gave Michael admin access into his soul.
Or he could just be overthinking and there was no such function. It really sucked knowing nothing.
He shook his head and focused on the tasks he had. He had already given the Magic Inquisitors that attacked his meeting with the Council of the West over to Dino and Vesta. Both of them basically led the scientific research department and planned to incorporate what they learned into the current models of vessels they had already created.
Diablo had commented that they were interesting, but that was about the limit of his attention on them.
The spies from the Eastern Empire had woken up and were still being thoroughly interrogated. So far from what he understood, the three of them were ordered by someone higher up in the Eastern Empire's hierarchy to spy on Tempest.
He had learned that they were otherworlders brought to this world a few decades ago. They were part of the Imperial Guardians of the Eastern Empire, but they hadn't given much more information. He would give them another day, but if they refused to share more, then he would order Souei to do what he had to do to get the information from them.
He may not have liked things like that, but it was his duty to make sure that his people were safe and protected. If that meant having spies of a foreign enemy nation tortured, then so be it. Though, rather than staying quiet out of loyalty to the Eastern Empire, they seemed to be staying quiet due to fear, which meant that it was possible to turn them.
He was pretty confident that they would tell him everything he needed to know. When he looked at the surveillance cameras that covered Tempest, he had overheard some of their conversations. They seemed to like Tempest quite a bit and were already considering jumping ships.
He just had to give them enough reason to do so.
As he was leaving the school, he froze. He could recognize that ominous aura anywhere.
What was Guy Crimson doing here?
Thankfully, yesterday Chloe had left to go visit Luminous. The two of them were old friends, so he didn't think it was odd, and Chloe had yet to return from her visit. He had better tell Chloe it was best if she didn't come back until Guy left.
He could only be thankful that she wasn't here right now. With what Felix said happened between Guy and Hinata on their first interaction, he didn't want Guy getting interested in yet another True Hero and causing trouble.
He didn't want people on the caliber of Guy and Chloe fighting in Tempest
He had a few things to ask Chloe, but those could wait.
He sensed Diablo immediately teleporting to Guy's location. He sighed, it would probably be best if he made sure Diablo didn't do anything. His butler was very… eccentric and enthusiastic about certain things.
He quickly ordered everyone to not overreact through a Thought Communication, as Guy wasn't really suppressing his presence completely, so many had sensed his arrival.
In the blink of an eye, he appeared next to Diablo who was just staring at Rain, completely flabbergasted while Guy and Rain both smiled smugly.
He looked at Diablo in confusion. "What happened Diablo?" Did Guy or Rain say something when he wasn't here? Diablo hadn't ever acted like he was acting now.
Diablo slowly raised a shaking hand up to Rain. "How did you of all people become a Devil Lord?!" He asked in shock and with what looked like a tear falling out of his eye.
This was probably one of the only times he'd seen Diablo actually lose his cool.
Rain smugly laughed. "Fufufu. Perhaps I'll tell you if you bow down and kiss my feet!" Rain said as she raised one of her legs up.
An expression of absolute disgust appeared on Diablo's face. "As if I need the help of one such as you. It seems I have been lax in my training if you of all people managed to become a Devil Lord before me."
He does know that he hasn't been in the Cardinal World even one ten thousandth of the time that Rain has, right?
Was it that surprising that Rain managed to become a Devil Lord after so long? She must have been training for such a thing for a long time. Rimuru didn't doubt that Diablo could do so as well if given time.
Guy smacked Rain in the back of the head. "Don't take credit for something you didn't do." Guy scolded.
"What are you doing here, Guy?" He finally asked.
Guy looked at him. "A few reasons. Am I correct to assume that Felix has told you of the conversation we had."
He nodded. "He has."
Guy clapped. "Good, that will make things easier then. I had a question for you."
Rimuru stared at Guy seriously and nodded. Even Diablo was staying quiet instead of taunting Rain. "Just what is your motive? What drove you to take control over the Council of the West, hmm?"
Rimuru blinked in confusion. "Huh?"

Author's Note:
Sup everyone, back with another chapter of Daemon. We get a Guy pov of him learning a bit more is happening in the background than he may realize, as well as him explaining some of his history with Rudra. Also a tiny info dumb explaining the existence of genesis grade equipment, and how Feldway is a baby bitch.
Still got a few more perspectives to cover as there is stuff happening in the background still, but getting closer and closer to the world trip.
Since this was an interlude chapter I didn't want to put a Felix pov, but we'll see his side of things in the next chapter with Hinata and Felix continuing their conversation.
We also get to see Rain talking some shit and letting her power go to her head. She's just a lot of fun to write.
Anyways thanks for reading, peace.
Thanks to @Salante and @Flowerman for beta'ing this chapter.
