Chapter 96 - Chapter 96 - The LRT Depot

Croix's POV

Man, I never saw how Hoshi would act like that, and I said to Sha, his PE teacher from Japan, "Hey, uh…you're his PE teacher, right?" Sha heard that and looked at me. "Yes, I am. Why?"

It seemed that Sha could speak in English, but at a more basic level.

I heard that many Japanese are not as fluent in English as most of us here in the Philippines, but Hoshi, Mariya, Sha, and Mr. Bokuto, as well as Taro, have some decent fluency in it.

"Does Mr. Santos act like that?" I asked about Hoshi.

"Uh…no, never," Sha responded, "Hoshi never snap like that, but his first time doing it was weirdly high…."

Hmm, this must be a response partially triggered by that awful Filipino thriller movie and the death of Manuel.

And then, Hoshi then looked at me. "I want to join this investigation. I'll do anything to give peace to those who have died in this scheme." All of us were surprised to hear his response.

"Mag-join ka sa investigation na ito?" Mariya asked.

Hoshi then nodded seriously. "Yes, po, ate. They went too far for that long po."

Sha then joined in our chat. "I'll join this investigation, too. Don't worry, I had literal shadow magic that would be useful to catch these crooks."

Shadow magic?

Is he for real?

However, seeing my doubtful expression, Sha demonstrated it by literally disappearing, much to our shock, and then appearing in the shadow of one of my coworkers.

"Ah! How did you do that?" he asked.

"See? It's Shadow magic, mate," Sha replied, before disappearing and reappearing beside Bokuto.

"Yeah, he can do that, sir," Bokuto said to us.

And then, a bit later after that, Hoshi decided to show his power and magic, too. But his is a different case. This is how it goes: he takes off his glasses, and he transforms someone into black and summons what seemed to be a toy kunai knife (I know that in anime) into a real scythe. We were shocked, while people in his side affirmed their authenticity. And plus, his grey eye was glowing like a flame but not burning.

When I know it, he was Kuro, his so-called other self (he doesn't call that an ego or a personality because, for him, it's insulting).

After that, Kuro reverted back to Hoshi, and the latter asked to keep this discovery confidential, I mean, very confidential. My team and I agreed seriously.

Now, after lunchtime, we, except for Mariya, went to the LRT Depot, the scene of the crime. Luckily, we received permission to investigate the area for ourselves, and Mario and I assured those who maintain and run the place that Hoshi, Bokuto, Taro, and Sha here are with us for the investigation.

There, we started our investigation. I showed where my dead coworker Zephaniah had died, that is, somewhere on the way to the emergency exit out of the depot. The place seemed to be eerily quiet. But as we continued on, I couldn't help but see Hoshi being emotionally unstable, again…

"I am so angry now, Kuro-kun…" he muttered to himself.
