"I know, Hoshi-kun," Kuro within him said, "but we have to be patient in this act of justice for the fallen."
"I know…" Hoshi responded, basically talking to himself.
Watching that, Croix thought, "Yeah, he can be emotionally vulnerable…"
And then, before all of them would call it a day and leave the place, winds started to blow through the area even though there was no actual wind. They held on as if they are real. And now, silhouettes of various people, 79 of them, appeared before them while floating from the ground. These are the spirits of the LRT Depot Ripper, as they would call him. Seeing their presence, Hoshi and his group were stunned, and he and Croix recognized one of them as Manuel.
"Hi po," Manuel positively said to them.
While Taro and Bokuto were creeped out by how they appeared in this place, Hoshi and Croix were in an emotional downward and tears to see Manuel as a spirit.
Among the ghostly victims were 12 children, one of whom was from the same barangay as Manuel and Croix.
"Pwede mo tulungan mo kami?" that kid, an elementary schoolboy, said to them.
But first, Hoshi and Croix focused on Manuel.
"Kuya Manuel…"
"Manuel…"
"How are you, guys?" Manuel smiled at them. "How's ang imbestigasyon?"
"Akala ko nag-joke ikaw na gawin ito…" Croix said to him while regretting doubting his plan.
He then added while looking at Manuel. "Sorry po…I did not believe you…"
"Ah, okay lang, Kuya Croix…" Manuel chillingly responded, "I think you just found it unbelievable. You know what they say, "see it to believe it"."
Croix was partially comforted by his words, while Hoshi was unhappy and sad that Manuel was now a ghost haunting this place.
Croix basically knew that Manuel did all these so he could acquaint Hoshi to him.
"We'll help you, guys," Taro said to the spirits.
"Us, too," Hoshi added, regaining his determination in his mission in this place.
