After being able to sense Clark's faint presence, it was no longer difficult for Robert to find him. Robert could now gauge Clark's recovery through his energy. Once Clark was fully healed, Robert would be the first to rush to his side.
"You rest for now. I'll deal with that monster," Robert said, watching as Clark lay peacefully in the sun, slowly absorbing solar energy. In the blink of an eye, Robert vanished, breaking free from the sun's gravity and appearing before Doomsday.
With a loud bang, before Doomsday could even register Robert's arrival, Robert's fist had already struck. His punch pierced through Doomsday's newly regenerated and further evolved bone armor, the force tearing through the flesh beneath.
This was just the beginning. Though Clark's recovery was promising, Robert was still furious over what had happened to him. Even though Doomsday wasn't the mastermind, Robert wasn't about to let it off easily.
Robert understood that while Doomsday was strong, it didn't necessarily mean that the one behind it was as powerful. Most likely, the true culprit was just an ordinary person, or even if they had extraordinary abilities, they wouldn't be anything too overwhelming.
Thus, Robert could only vent his anger on Doomsday. Under his relentless assault, Doomsday's massive body was repeatedly shattered. Even its regeneration and evolution were slowing down, unable to keep pace with Robert's destruction.
And this was with Doomsday absorbing solar energy. Without it, Doomsday's recovery would be even slower, and Robert might have already killed it multiple times by now.
If Doomsday managed to evolve again, its power might grow even more, but it seemed the outcome would not change.
"Sayian, if possible, please deal with that monster quickly. We need help..." Just as Robert was furiously beating down Doomsday, a fiery portal opened nearby, a voice coming through before the portal quickly closed.
"Hmm?" Robert was momentarily surprised. Up until now, he had been focused entirely on Clark and Kara, so much so that he hadn't even noticed that the students of Kamar-Taj had not joined in the fight against Doomsday.
Hearing Baron Mordo's voice, Robert extended his senses outward, and soon enough, he detected a multitude of presences across the dimensions connected to Earth.
These presences were chaotic and uncoordinated, clearly not from the same dimension. Among them, few were particularly strong—at least, there were no top-tier powerhouses.
"What is this? Multiple dimensions invading at once? That can't be right... Most of them are from Hell, but not even a single Hell Lord has made a move," Robert murmured as he continued to pummel Doomsday while sensing the situation beyond Earth.
"There are some dimension lords present, but none are top-tier, and they don't seem capable of breaching Earth's dimensional barriers..."
"The strangest thing is, why aren't their weaker forces simply pouring through the gaps in Earth's dimensional defenses? The breach is still wide open..." Robert muttered, still puzzled by what the other dimensions were up to. However, he knew that Kamar-Taj, even with the likes of Doom and Constantine who had studied its magic, could not handle such a massive threat alone.
It seemed that these dimensional invaders were targeting Kamar-Taj's students and its sanctum array. They charged forward as if determined to destroy the sanctum and kill the students, even at the cost of their own lives.
"Lucky for you," Robert said, glaring at Doomsday. He couldn't leave it behind. Based on its current abilities, Doomsday's survival instincts were at their peak. If Robert left to handle the dimensional crisis first, even with his instant transmission allowing him to track Doomsday, he couldn't be sure it wouldn't find some way to survive. Thus, Doomsday was fortunate enough to die swiftly.
With a hum, Robert charged up a ki blast. Doomsday, whose body hadn't yet fully recovered, widened its eyes in panic upon seeing the blast. Its energy flared, and it tried to flee in the opposite direction.
Doomsday had been blasted by these energy waves before and knew their destructive power. To put it simply, even the weakest ki blast from Robert was something Doomsday didn't dare confront, not even with its heat vision. Even its evolved bone armor couldn't withstand the force of the blast.
If one of these ki blasts landed on Mercury, the planet would have long since been reduced to cosmic dust.
But that was just a casual blast. The ki blast Robert had now charged was far more powerful. As soon as it appeared, Doomsday felt a deep sense of impending death and fled, despite not yet being fully recovered.
Doomsday was fast—far faster than speedsters like Pietro, and even Kara might not be able to match its current speed.
But speed is always relative. Doomsday couldn't surpass the speed of light, nor could it cross space or time. From the moment it chose to run, its fate was sealed.
A terrifying explosion echoed through the vastness of space. There was no sound in the vacuum, and the explosion wasn't particularly noticeable—such events happen constantly in the cosmos.
Doomsday's form was engulfed in the blast, its sturdy bone armor offering no protection. Its once-living body was obliterated by the ki blast, leaving not even a trace.
"If it weren't for the dimensional crisis, I wouldn't have killed you so quickly..." Robert shook his head as he sensed the complete disappearance of Doomsday's presence. He was about to use instant transmission to leave when he paused. "Hmm? Interesting!"
Robert's gaze shifted toward the space between the sun and Earth. He wasn't looking at Earth but rather at the cosmic space between the two.
Earlier, when Robert had knocked Doomsday from Earth to the sun, it had left behind traces of blood and body tissue in space. When Doomsday's body was destroyed by the ki blast, remnants of its energy lingered in those scattered tissues.
For most people, such a detail would be hard to notice. But Robert's senses were too sharp to miss anything. The lingering traces of Doomsday's energy were too obvious.
Moreover, in this world, many like Clark and Diana could suppress their energy to the level of ordinary people, but no one could entirely hide their energy. Except, perhaps, for robots.
Doomsday clearly lacked this ability. Even though it thought its blood and body parts were inconspicuous, they were still exposed under Robert's keen observation.
"Has it evolved again from my blast?" Robert mused, his energy disappearing as he blended into the surrounding space.
Robert didn't have the ability to turn invisible, but his transformation techniques allowed him to imitate the effect. As soon as Doomsday sensed Robert's disappearance, its scattered blood and tissues rapidly coalesced, forming a new body.
But just as the new Doomsday emerged, a ki blast struck it, catching it off guard and sending it flying, its newly formed bone armor shattering. Yet no blood spilled from the wound.
"Definitely different now!" Robert quickly realized that Doomsday had evolved once again. It had developed a stronger resistance to his ki blasts!
Ki blasts were fundamentally different from Clark's heat vision. Since Doomsday still largely shared Kryptonian genes, it had high resistance to heat vision and could even absorb some of its energy.
However, against ki blasts, Doomsday's unique abilities couldn't absorb the unfamiliar energy, making it particularly vulnerable to Robert's attacks.
But now, Doomsday had evolved to better defend against ki blasts. Despite its bone armor shattering, the fact that it could resist the blast to this extent was a significant improvement. If Robert used the same level of ki blast again, it wouldn't be enough to kill Doomsday.
And this was only the beginning of Doomsday's evolution. If it could continue to regenerate, it would eventually evolve to a point where even Robert, at full power, wouldn't be able to kill it.
That was Doomsday's most terrifying trait. It couldn't be killed twice in the same way. Given enough time, it would evolve into the most powerful and fearsome creature in the universe—unless someone could utterly annihilate every part of it, leaving nothing behind.
"Your potential even surpasses that of the Hell Lords," Robert murmured, glancing at Doomsday's healing wounds in amazement.
Meanwhile, Doomsday opened its massive jaws, its grotesque face showing an expression of excitement as it silently roared and charged at Robert.
It seemed that Doomsday now believed that, since it had evolved resistance to ki blasts, it could stand a chance against Robert. Its instincts told it that if it continued to evolve, it would eventually win this fight.
"So much power, yet you can't figure out how to make sound travel through a vacuum. Truly a brainless creature..." Robert muttered, shaking his head as he vanished again.
Bang!
Doomsday flinched as Robert disappeared, its instincts telling it to dodge to the side, but it was too slow. Robert's kick sent it flying once more.
Even after its evolution, Doomsday's power and speed were still far behind Robert's. However, Doomsday didn't seem to see it that way. It fired its heat vision directly at Robert's body.
Sizzle! Robert smirked as an electric-like ki surged out, clashing with the heat vision. The two energies collided, sparking explosions across the void of space. Before long, the heat vision was overwhelmed, and the electric ki blasted into Doomsday's body.
Doomsday's latest evolution had given it resistance to ki blasts, but Robert only had to adjust the nature of his ki slightly to render this evolution useless.
As the electric current surged through Doomsday's body, its muscles stiffened, and a storm of chaotic energy erupted inside it. A lightning-like force clashed with its own power, breaking apart its bone armor once again.
Doomsday's energy reserves were still plentiful, thanks to the solar energy it continued to absorb. But even with this advantage, it would take time to fully rid its body of the electric current flowing through it.
