Chapter 4 - Defeating the T-Rex

Deep within the forest, six shadows could be seen moving at a terrifying speed.

Little by little, they drew closer to what appeared to be a person.

It was an adolescent of about eleven years old. He was completely naked, sitting on a rock with his eyes closed.

His posture was perfect: lotus position, straight back, controlled breathing. Everything about him indicated that he was in a deep state of meditation.

The six shadows stopped a few meters away from the young man.

He was their target.

Suddenly, one of the shadows lunged forward.

The largest one was the first to move, immediately followed by the others.

The leader velociraptor leapt toward the adolescent at brutal speed… but stopped abruptly just centimeters from its prey.

A hand had clamped tightly around its neck.

The young man's eyes remained closed.

Crack.

The velociraptor's neck snapped under the pressure of those inhumanly strong fingers.

The sudden death of the leader caused the rest of the pack to freeze for an instant.

It was only a momentary pause.

The remaining five velociraptors attacked at the same time.

When they were just centimeters away from reaching him—

Derek's eyes, which until that moment had remained closed, snapped open.

At the exact instant they were about to touch him, his body vanished.

The velociraptors were left confused for a fraction of a second.

Too late.

Derek had appeared behind them.

Without giving them time to react, he made a single movement with his right leg.

A precise sweep.

Five necks were struck at the same time.

Five bodies fell lifelessly to the ground.

...

I came close to feeling that energy again.

I don't remember whether there was ki or some kind of similar energy in the anime Baki, but one day, out of sheer boredom, I began to meditate.

At that moment, I managed to feel something… a strange energy. It was only an instant, but it was real.

Since then, I haven't felt it again.

If it weren't for that day, I would think it had all been a product of my imagination.

Speaking of Baki…

Yes. I confirmed that I'm in Baki.

How?

Simple.

After all, my older brother is none other than Pickle.

Looking at the corpses on the ground, I approached one of them and began to eat it.

After so much meditating, I had gotten hungry.

How convenient… the food came to me on its own. Hehehe.

A year has passed since that incident.

Although we searched for months, there were never any results.

My brother left without warning a few weeks later. Just seeing his gaze before he departed was enough to understand it.

He left for the same reason I did.

To become stronger.

Even so, I have the feeling that we will meet again in the future.

After leaving the cave, I began my own journey, fighting dinosaurs and primitive humans.

This year has been incredibly productive.

I don't know if it was because of my new mindset, but my strength has increased in an absurd way.

I wanted to practice martial arts, but I never learned any in my past life, and I forgot almost everything of the little I had seen on television.

If everything goes according to plan, in the future I'll have the opportunity to learn them.

After finishing eating, I went back to meditating.

Even if I don't get results, at least it helps me relax.

//

Another year flew by.

I have prepared for this day.

The day I will avenge my mother.

I will never forget that T. Rex.

The three deep marks on its face. Its aura.

No matter where it is, I will recognize it immediately.

After searching for weeks, I finally found it.

...

Derek was hidden among the bushes.

A few meters away, there was a T. Rex covered in wounds that were still bleeding.

That meant only one thing.

It had fought recently.

It's a shame it's not at its best… but I won't let this opportunity slip by.

I burst forward with all my strength toward it.

My sudden appearance surprised it, though only for an instant.

It roared and prepared to attack me.

I used all my strength to dodge, moving to its left and counterattacking.

But its skin was too tough. My blow barely hurt it.

The battle was long and brutal.

It attacked.

I dodged.

I tried to damage it without success.

"If I keep this up, I'll exhaust myself before I can kill it."

Before I could think of a plan, the T. Rex lunged at me.

I couldn't dodge it.

I ran straight toward it.

It was risky, but it was my best chance.

Just as I was preparing to strike, the monster twisted its body and attacked me with its tail.

The impact sent me flying several meters through the air, knocking down trees along the way.

It didn't stop there.

It stomped on me with its legs, trying to crush me to death.

The pressure was unbearable.

Blood began to seep from my pores.

"Fuck… this hurts!"

My vision became blurry.

My mind began to shut down.

"I'm passing out…"

I bit my lips hard to stay conscious.

But my body was failing.

"Am I going to die at the hands of this T. Rex?"

Memories of my life after reincarnation flooded my mind.

I still hadn't achieved my goals.

"Am I going to die now without becoming the strongest creature in the world?"

Thinking about it… maybe that goal was too ambitious.

Maybe dying here wouldn't be so bad.

"No!"

A voice inside me screamed in fury.

I've trained too much to die here.

"Shit… I haven't even lost my virginity in this life yet!"

"How could I die here?!"

At that instant, I felt it.

The energy.

Before the T. Rex could tear half my body off with a bite, I dodged with absurd ease.

The monster froze, confused, staring at the place where my corpse should have been.

I took advantage of that instant.

I attacked.

My fist pierced through its skull.

Blood splashed across my face.

When it was over, I took a deep breath to calm myself.

I approached the lifeless body of the T. Rex.

As I watched it fall, a smile spread across my face.

I couldn't contain the emotion.

"I DID IT!"

"I KILLED THE FUCKING KING OF THE DINOSAURS!"
