Chapter 36 - #36Chapter 36 The Migration Begins

Three days passed quickly, during which Fang Wuwei traveled throughout the tribe.

After the Lion Queen met with Fang Wuwei, Lion King, the chieftain, announced the demon invasion, and the entire tribe began to mobilize. People frantically prepared for their escape, and countless soldiers were dispatched to find suitable habitats and safe routes.

The entire city was in chaos, and panic spread continuously. If Lion King hadn't specifically emphasized that Fang Wuwei was the Savior of the tribe and one of their own, he would probably have been torn to shreds by the irrational beastmen by now.

For these three days, Fang Wuwei constantly visited different tribes to seek resources and help, while also sparring with various chieftains to hone his combat skills.

However, most tribes didn't quite believe his identity as the Savior. Even with the High Priest's prophecy, they were unwilling to invest too much in Fang Wuwei—for no other reason than that the present Fang Wuwei was too weak. If he couldn't even defeat Lion King, how could he possibly defeat the terrifying demons high up in the sky?

Fang Wuwei had once sought out Lion King, hoping to challenge him to a one-on-one fight, and... he lost, but it was only a narrow defeat.

Although Fang Wuwei didn't know how big the gap was between him and the Reincarnators, whether he was stronger or weaker, the fact that Lion King, the strongest in the tribe, was only slightly stronger than him, probably meant that the combat power of this tribe... was extremely low.

Three days, gone in a flash. Even before the people in the city were ready, the barrier had already shattered with a crash.

"Everyone! Follow our soldiers and leave quickly, just like in the drill! Children and women gather in the very center! Elders hide behind the soldiers! All able-bodied young adults! Pick up your weapons, you are the greatest shield for the children and our civilization!!!"

In beastmen tribes that adhere to the law of the jungle, the safety of the young and females is prioritized, followed by the able-bodied young adults who are the backbone, and finally the elders—those without special abilities or talents might even be placed last. Having lost most of their social value, they are willing to sacrifice themselves for the future of their civilization... This is the survival of the fittest, the elimination of the weak.

Fang Wuwei stood in the garden on the top floor of the great hall, watching the beastmen tribe rapidly depart in formation, and watching Lion King, who still stood beside him, lost in thought.

"Sir, what are your plans?"

"Before that, I wanted to ask you, shouldn't you be going with them?"

Facing Fang Wuwei's question, Lion King shook his head, then nodded, "I will leave last, bringing up the rear for those elders."

Fang Wuwei breathed a sigh of relief. Thankfully, Lion King wasn't playing some trick of "I will live and die with the tribe" and stubbornly refusing to leave. Leaving was fine, and bringing up the rear was also reasonable... Wait, bringing up the rear??

Fang Wuwei's eyelids twitched instantly. He had long heard from Ensi, the Wolf King, that the basic rule of this tribe was the law of the jungle, survival of the fittest. How could Lion King, the strongest of them all, bring up the rear for the elders?

Lion King looked at Fang Wuwei, whose confusion was clearly written on his face. He guessed what Fang Wuwei wanted to ask, so he spoke first.

"Those elders are indeed a drag on the team, but... in my eyes, they are still my people. What's more..." Lion King gestured towards the Team, and Fang Wuwei looked over, only to find a young man who refused to walk in front. Instead, he followed beside an elderly couple. Even though the couple hit and scolded him, trying to push him forward, he remained unmoved, slowing down to stay by the two elders.

"The burdens in our eyes, those we can abandon, those old folks who slow down our journey and have no social value—whose parents are they? Whose benefactors are they?

...The last time demons invaded, I had already been born. At that time, as the team migrated, I watched my father fall under the blades of those humans with my own eyes. I watched my grandparents and maternal grandparents abandoned by the team and then cruelly murdered... All my mother and I could do was hold back our tears and run frantically. We were powerless to do anything else..."

"What about your wife and children? Do you plan to let your children experience the pain of your childhood again?"

"...It wasn't until I grew up that I understood that father was great."

Seeing Lion King's reddened eyes and clenched fists, Fang Wuwei already knew Lion King's answer. For a moment, he was speechless, only able to respond to Lion King with silence.

After a long while, the team was nearing its end when Lion King finally broke the silence, "Besides, from an age perspective, I am already an old man who should be at the back of the line with them.

So, Sir, what are your plans?"

"I... I'm leaving to hunt."

"Is that so... I wish you good luck, Sir, and success in your endeavors."

Lion King leaped down, landing heavily on the ground. Amidst the surprised gazes of the people below, he quickly followed the team and departed.

The mighty procession left the town. Finally, only Fang Wuwei remained, standing alone on the top floor of the great hall, silently gazing at the empty city... On the other side, with the shattering of the beastmen's barrier, Hans (the shovel man from Chapter 28), who was recuperating in the jungle, suddenly received a message from the Main God System:

"Attention all examinees, a random mission—[Encirclement and Suppression] has appeared.

Hidden in the southern jungle is a nest of pests. They have begun to migrate after previously being concealed. All examinees can eliminate them as much as possible before their migration is complete.

Reward: Obtain 50+ points depending on the situation, with no upper limit. The more you eliminate, the more points you receive.

Warning: Do not underestimate the enemy.

Upon obtaining a certain amount of points, you can temporarily gain access to the Main God Store."

Looking at this announcement, Hans, who was originally recuperating, became so excited that he abruptly stood up, tearing open his wound.

"Ah, ouch, ouch..."

It wasn't his fault; he was incredibly excited. 50+ points, what did that mean? He only got three or four hundred for killing a main target in a Main God System outsourced mission. Now, going to kill some bugs would give him fifty-plus, with no upper limit, not to mention being able to temporarily open the Main God Store to resupply. How could he not be excited?

He currently had points but nowhere to spend them!

What if there was danger! There were points! There was money! And so much money, it was worth the risk!

It wasn't just Hans who received the announcement, but all the Reincarnators. Upon receiving the news, they all became excited. Those who were close immediately decided to team up and set off to hunt the pests. Those who were far away also wanted to quickly come and get a share.

This would be a great catastrophe.

However, Fang Wuwei had already left the old tribe and passed through the town, searching for Reincarnators to hunt.

Without the Main God System, he hadn't received the announcement; otherwise, he would have chosen to wait for them.

The present him was no longer the same. If he were to encounter that shovel man or the big man again, he was confident he could beat them both down.

Fang Wuwei, rapidly departing, no longer paid attention to the beastmen tribe's migration. If he truly wanted to help them, the best way was to hunt down that group of Reincarnators, every single one of them, and wipe them out!

Friends, a question, give me some advice.

It's like this: after I finish writing, I realized that after this training arc ends... the protagonist will have quite a few lottery draws, and I can't let him grow too fast, otherwise, it will become a boring invincible story. So... I need to handle this protagonist, not let him grow too fast. What are your wise opinions, everyone?

Friends, my dear friends, please give me some advice, will you?
