The people did not leave after the storm ended.
They remained gathered around Amun, with many of them still kneeling in the mud.
Amun looked around awkwardly. "You can stand now."
Nobody moved, and they kept their heads low.
Amun glanced toward Amunet. "Why are they still doing that?"
Amunet crossed her arms and looked at the villagers. "They are worshipping you."
Amun frowned. "I know, but why?"
"Because you saved them."
Amun looked back at the people. "You don't need to worship me for that."
A few villagers heard him and lowered their heads even further.
Amunet sighed. "You're going to have to get used to this."
"...I don't like it."
"Too bad."
Amun looked uncomfortable as another group of villagers approached him and bowed deeply.
"Lord Amun, you have saved our families."
"We thought we were going to die."
"May the river bless you."
Amun quickly raised his hands. "Please, you don't have to thank me this much. Just go home and make sure your families are safe."
