"I'll check that out later, I've gotta see what I just dealt with" I sauntered quickly over to the blasted corpse, it's already dead anyway so no need for caution.
I could see the creature a lot clearly now, it was indeed a centipede, just gigantic, and it had a grey wood-like exoskeleton with some parts stone-like, similar to the color of the cave, Its gooey-looking fleshy insides were cooked like chicken from the blast, so I activated {Analysis} Skill.

'Damn, why is this skill going up so fast? Not complaining though, but if i do have one complaint, it's the limitation to only biological and alive things, hopefully this changes in the future'
Despite taking care of the enemy, I couldn't help but feel that something was wrong, like I'm not taking into account something that is importa-
The aroma of the cooked centipede wafted through the air, my olfactory senses ringing with joy, stimulating my brain like a blast.
*Sniff*
"Not gonna lie…..it kinda smells good" my mouth watered at the smell
I got closer to the hole and dragged the cooked centipede away from the hole before I started to devour it in the tiny amounts that my mouth could fit through.

"Hmm?, Nah, Maybe later" *Nom* I continued to eat while she responded with a simple agreement.
"This tastes surprisingly good, like a buttery and ultra soft meat, though it reminds me of something"
*chomp* *chew* *munch*
"Oh, It's like shrimp!....but I don't like shrimp, well, I mostly dislike it for the overpowering aftertaste" *chomp*
"Oh well"
[Do you always talk like this? Out loud?]
'hn?, how does she not know this abo- oh!, she can't read my mind, which did extend to my past as well, right I forgot'
"Nope, it's just that, even though you're here with me, you're not actually here, so it's kind of lonely, you know? I had a lot of close people with me in my previous life, we were like family" I answer in between bites and chewings.
[I see]
*nom* I take one big bite and- *chink*
"Oww!, what the heck?" I bit into its carapace, the one which looked a lot like wood and rock, which unsurprisingly tasted the same as what you would think rock and wood tastes like.
But that wasn't gonna stop me from eating, so just threw the carapace to the side and continued eating, but before I could indulge myself some more, Two more centipedes popped out a lot further into the other opening to ruin my day, clacking their mandibles and waving their front whisker-like appendages to sense the disturbance, or more likely the smell of their dead comrade.
"Ah shit, not one but two?" I didn't realize there were more of them, don't centipedes usually live alone? Tch, I let my guard down, welp, good food can definitely do that to someone.
I stood my ground, they all had the same general body shape as the one I just killed, but this time I noticed that their exoskeletons, looked somewhat similar to the caves wall albeit darker, I consciously activated {Analysis Skill} once again and-

[Patchwork Centipede (II)
Extended Description: The Patchwork Centipede is a large eusocial, subterranean arthropod found in caves, crevices, and dense jungle undergrowth. It is known for its distinctive habit of grafting skins, bones, wood, rocks, and other materials into its own exoskeleton, forming an uneven, protective carapace.
Patchwork Centipedes are obligate predators that supplement their diet through scavenging, often drawn to both freshly killed or long-dead carcasses from which they also strip usable materials either as food or armor].

'The heck?! That's kinda creepy as hell, but somehow kinda rad, but-' my eyes narrowed
I looked at the description again, focusing on the word "Eusocial"
"Ah fuck, they're a colony" They both rushed at me with a surprising burst of speed, but I was quite a ways away from them.
So anyway I started blasting.
*HHHRR-VWOOSH-BANG!*
The closer one got mutilated instantly but was still writhing pathetically on the side before croaking

And as for the other one, it couldn't move properly when it was blown away from the blast, probably dazed, before I could attack again, the thing had already recovered.
*Ssshhaaaaaa-clack-clack*
"Tch, tenacious bastard" I tried to throw another blast but it started to attack again, I cancelled the shot entirely, which was good, my mouth would've met its own if I hadn't rolled to the side quick enough, I could only thank my draconic reflexes to make up for my inexperience.
It launched its entire body towards me, so I replied with a '[Chomp]' when I weaved just a little bit.
I managed to rip some of its limbs in the process, earning me it's own version of a scream
*CHHIIIIIEEEECCCKK*
It was now staying back but not too far, I also couldn't approach it, it was still too fast in close quarters, I thought that we would have a stand-off of just two enemies sizing each other up, but this time it climbed on the sides of the walls with immense speed but not too much since I injured it, circling around me from the caves walls, I kept my eye on it, when it moved to my left, I moved to create distance, but its skittish nature was not letting me properly fire a plasma blast.
*WOOOOSH* *CLACK* It tried to bite me, pushing me back into a defensive stance, the little back and forth kept going, The exchange happened in such a short time frame but felt like minutes had passed, i couldn't finish it off because the thing had surprising agility, granted that it had plenty of legs to help it maneuver quickly and attack me despite its previous injuries.
