Jayden was chatting and laughing with his brothers in his office along with chill alcoholic drinks.
"Wow, big Bro, your attitude has changed". Ryan said as he continued to examine him.
" Meaning?". Jayden questioned.
"Meaning, you seem happy these days, so, tell me, what's the secret?" he questioned and Theo scoffed.
"I know, his attitude changed since the day Maya moved in with him, he is beginning to fall for her". Theo said.
" What nonsense, Why will I fall for her?" Jayden questioned.
"Everything, because she is carrying your child, no lady will keep a child for the man she dislikes, if I can see it clearly, that lady hates you". Theo said as he gulp from his drink.
" He is right, so, when are you telling Mother about it?"Ryan asked.
"Don't worry about that, I will tell Mom now". Theo said as he brought out his phone and dialed his mother's number, it rang for a while before she picked it up. 📞" Hi Mom, he said and there was a pause."yes Mom, am fine, how is Dad?". there was a pause and he laughed." come on Mom, don't say that, besides I am in the company with my brothers and Jayden have some good news to share with you". he said and Jayden stare at him quickly." yes, hold on, let me give him the phone". he points the phone to him and Jayden hesitates.
"Why am I going to be the one to tell her?".
" Is yours to say, not mine, besides, Mom will be happy to hear the news from you". Theo said and Jayden grunted for a while and took the phone from him.
📞"Hi, Mom". he said and his mother's voice came through the other end.
📞 " Hello, son, how are you doing?".
📞"Am fine mom, how about you and Dad?" he asked.
📞"We are both fine, Theo said you have some good news to share with me".
📞 " Um, yeah, the thing is, what Theo did a month ago that made me lay with a stranger, it resulted to something positive". he said and Theo sighed at him tiredly.
"Seriously bro, can't you just go straight to the point without beating around the bush". Theo said and he got a hard look from Jayden.
📞" How do you mean?"Mrs.Williams asked.
📞"Actually, Mom, I just find out that the lady is carrying my child". he said.
📞" What, son?" she asked curiously.
📞"Yes, Mom".
📞" Oh my!" she screamed out excitedly." finally! God has answered my prayers". she said and started sobbing.
📞"Mom, are you crying right now?".
📞" These are tears of joy, the sadness I feel every day thinking about you and your brothers for one of you to give us one grandchild has just been lifted off my shoulders, I am so happy son,". she said and Jayden felt her pain." where is she right now?".
📞"She is living with me, Mom". he said.
📞" oh my, you did well son, you all should come for a family gathering this weekend, I will make the arrangement, I can't wait to see her". she said happily.
📞 "Mom, I don't think --" he got interrupted.
📞"Don't think anything, you must bring her to the family gathering this weekend". she said and hung up before Jayden could say another word.
" Great". he gave the phone back to Theo.
"What did Mom say?...hold on, I know, she is very happy right now and I also know she is inviting all of us to the family gathering this weekend". Ryan said.
" Well, you guess right". Jayden said."now I have to convince her to go to the family gathering with me".
"Yeah, you have to and please do it nicely this time". Theo said.
later in the cool evening, both were seated at the dining table having their dinner.
" I have something to tell you". Jayden said breaking the silent mood between them and Maya raised her face to him ."I
told my mom about the pregnancy, so she wants to meet with you for the family dinner this weekend". he said and Maya stared at him surprisingly.
"What? Why did you always have to involve me in your family".
" How do you mean? You have the Williams grandchild growing your tummy". he said and Maya rolled her eyes.
"What if I refuse to honor this family dinner invitation?"
"You won't, no one rejects an invitation from the Williams". he said proudly and Maya scoffed.
Maya resumed her work, she was attending to some customers as usual, while the two girls kept making faces at her.
" What's she feeling like anyway, she did not only get us punished and now she was given a day off for a week, why we have been working in this company for over a year now and none of us has been granted a day off". 1st girl said angrily.
"You are damn right Angela, I guess she manipulating everyone here with her naive face".
" I guess so too, Becky, but what can we do?".
"We won't give up until we make her leave this place in big disgrace". Becky said and Angela agreed.
An hour later, Maya was seated operating her phone when an elegant woman entered the building, her presence caught everyone's attention including Maya who rushed up to her quickly and bowed to her in respect.
" Welcome to J.R shopping mall, ma, how may I be of help to you?". she asked politely and Mrs.Williams stared lovely at her
"Thank you, young lady, I would like a dress please," she said.
"Ok, ma, this way". she leads her to the dressing room." Which type of dress do you need ma?".
"hmm, I want a dress that will be suitable for my style, actually, I am having a guest over this weekend and I need to be presentable". Mrs.Williams said
" Ok, let me see if I can help". she moved around the room searching for a suitable dress, Mrs. Williams stared at her, and suddenly like her kind of person, then Maya's eyes caught sight of a lovely blue dress made with high equality fabric begin designed with silver stone, she brought it down for her to see and Mrs.Williams falls in love with the dress quickly.
"Oh my, this is lovely". Mrs.Williams.
" Yeah, it will look perfect on you".
"I love it, my husband will like it because blue is his favorite color".
"That's wonderful".
" Thank you for picking this amazing dress for me," she said smiling.
"You are always welcome ma". she said.
" I have not seen you before?"
"Yes, I am new here".
" That's nice, keep up the good work".
"Thank you ma". she said smiling and Mrs. Williams left to pay for the dress.
Later at home, Maya was in her room talking to Mia on the phone.
📞 " His mother did?"Mia questioned from the other end
📞 "Yes and right now is freaking me out ". She said with a sigh.
📞" Don't be nervous, is just a dinner, and it won't cost you your life "she said jokingly.
📞 " I really don't know why I have to go, I don't want to be familiar with that family, I just want to live a normal life without getting into trouble ". she said sadly.
📞" I understand Maya, you are only doing this because of your baby". she said and they sighed.
The next morning, Andrea was walking to the kitchen when she caught sight of Jayden sneaking out of Maya's room, she hid quickly not to be seen, and watched him leave to his room.
"Why is he sneaking out of her room like that?". she wondered for a while and walked away.
