[Chapter Size: 2100 Words.]
Third Person POV
Great Britain.
...
...
Severus arrived at Prince Manor with a serious expression, materializing in the middle of the entrance hall through Apparition, the manor had its defenses against magical teleportation, but those laws no longer applied to the current Severus Prince.
The moment he entered, all four house-elves simply appeared before him, with worried eyes. Even Genini no longer had any fear of Severus, as she now looked at him with genuine concern.
"Master Prince!", they shouted in unison, while Severus stared at them.
"Hello… it seems ten days have passed since I left...", he said, noticing their worried looks and also noting that they were staring at the change in color of his eyes.
"Are you all right, sir?", asked Dobby, a little uneasy.
He only gave a smile. "I am. Where is everyone else?" He noticed only one person in the house.
"Master ____ is in the manor, but Lady Rosária left England a few days ago. Something serious is happening in Japan, and she went there", said the elves, while Severus arched an eyebrow.
It didn't take long for someone to appear with long strides, as fast as his age allowed. It was Severus' great-uncle, who looked at him with relief.
"You are here, nephew! I was quite worried about you. You disappeared", he said, relaxing his tone.
"I said I would spend some time in the portal I entered, I just didn't know how long… Anyway… I heard about what is happening in Japan. I just came back", Severus replied.
They had no idea what he had just caused in one of the regions of Great Britain while testing his current magical power, but that wasn't important now.
"Listen, nephew… a portal has opened. Giants started coming out of it, in Tokyo. The entire country is devastated."
"Tell me the details. I hope you have newspapers on the matter", Severus asked, and he nodded.
"Please, follow me."
They went to another room. It didn't take long for the great-uncle to place a pile of newspapers in various languages — indicating newspapers from other countries — in front of him. Severus picked them up one by one, starting to read.
The rupture of the portal he saw in the capital of Japan had happened a week earlier, and since then the crisis had been spreading throughout Japan over the last seven days.
'Three days after I entered the portal…', Severus thought, a little frustrated. But now that didn't matter.
All the wizards and Muggles were fighting; the Statute of Secrecy simply no longer existed in Japan. Muggle and magical news broadcasts showed images of giants destroying cities, while wizards and the Muggle military power tried to stop them — without success.
Questions like "What are these things?", "Where did they come from?", "Why are they here?", "Is it the end of the world?" appeared constantly in the newspapers. Others commented on harsher matters, such as suggesting that another atomic bomb should be dropped on Japan to prevent the creatures from leaving.
One of them had reached the coast and simply entered the sea — no one knew where it had gone, but everyone was worried, scanning the oceans and monitoring the shores of nearby countries.
"Rosária went to Japan to help, right?", Severus asked while reading.
"Yes, she went with her family.", his great-uncle replied, visibly worried.
No one liked the news about unknown dimensional creatures invading the world — even more so creatures stronger than anything ever reported in this world or anything they had ever faced.
Thus, several parts of the world were uniting to go to Japan to try to stop the giants. Dracula had summoned his daughter — although this had been more of a request from Rosária for them to come help — and both were in Japan. The kingdom that was once hidden had also revealed itself in these last days, and Atlantis had sent forces to help. Severus was thinking about what he should do.
It didn't take long for the house-elves to appear saying that someone had shown up in front of the basement.
"Master Prince! The Minister of Magic was at the entrance of the manor. She says she needs to have an audience with you!" They reported, interrupting Severus' reading, which he was already finishing.
"The Minister of Magic? Where is that other minister?", Severus asked.
"He was replaced two days after you disappeared. The new minister is Millicent Bagnold."
"I see." Severus simply shrugged. "Anyway, let's go. We can't waste more time. I have to go to Japan", he said in a serious tone, while his great-uncle knew he wouldn't waste time.
Severus vanished and reappeared in front of the gate. The moment he appeared, flashes began to burst — several reporters crowded behind a mass of security guards and Aurors, protecting the woman in front of him. With a simple thought, and as master of the manor, Severus made the gate open, approaching the minister.
"Severus Prince, I came immediately as soon as I heard of your return", she said in a cautious tone. She didn't comment on the destruction he had caused, nor the fact that he had restored everything out of sheer whim.
It had been less than ten minutes since Severus arrived, and judging by how euphoric the reporters were, the news of his return must have already spread throughout the entire magical world.
But that didn't matter now. He stopped before the woman.
"You must be the new minister. Well, anyway… I want to finish this quickly. I'm going to Japan", he said, wasting no time.
The moment he said that, all the reporters began scribbling in their notebooks and frantically pressing the buttons on their cameras, taking dozens of photos.
"Mr. Severus, can you explain what happened? You've been missing for ten days!", someone in the crowd shouted.
"Lord Prince, can we have a word for the Daily Prophet?", another asked.
Severus looked at all of that and ignored it completely, turning his eyes back to the minister, who opened a small smile.
"Well… you are very famous, and your disappearance created even more chaos in the middle of a crisis like this. Expect inconvenient questions", she said, with a tired yet careful tone, studying Severus' face, which was a mask thanks to his current Occlumency.
"Anyway, my name is Millicent Bagnold. I know you didn't mean any harm. I was at your trial the whole time and fought for you to be acquitted, because I know we need you, Lord Prince. And now, the world needs you more than ever."
Severus stared at her for a few seconds and nodded.
"Let's go to the Ministry. I want you to send a statement to all of England saying that I am going to Japan", Severus said, and she nodded. Obviously, he was making a political move and trying to lessen any panic.
Meanwhile, Severus simply closed the gate, made his new staff appear — which materialized as it transformed from a ring back into a weapon — and pointed it toward the sky, while a white light began to emerge, creating his own Patronus.
The white angel appeared for the third time in this world, and almost everyone already knew what it was. That meant the Patronus that had appeared in the Muggle city during Voldemort's attack along with the werewolves — the same one that healed all the injured Muggles and wizards in the battle — had also been Severus' work. Even though many already suspected it was indeed his, used that night.
"Find everyone and inform them", Severus simply said before the angel nodded and flapped its wings, disappearing in a flash of light. As soon as it vanished, Severus turned his attention back to the minister.
"Let's go", he said, and she nodded, disappearing with him in front of the gate.
In the end, they all vanished from the entrance of the manor, going directly to the Ministry by following the Apparition of Severus and the minister.
It didn't take long for him to appear at the entrance of the Ministry, finding Madame Vincent Santos directly, along with Dumbledore, both staring at him with great interest.
'The greatest wizard of this century, officially declared, and the Supreme Headmistress waiting for me, along with the Minister of Magic of Great Britain escorting me… Seems I've become someone important…' Severus thought internally, remembering the times when he was just an invisible student, despised and mocked by everyone. Now, everyone expected him to save the world.
"You are finally here… You gave us quite a scare tonight", Dumbledore said, still referring to the earlier incident.
"I know I overdid it. Anyway, I read what happened in the latest newspapers my uncle left available for me. Let's finish this quickly. I'm going to Japan tonight", Severus said in a serious tone, and no one disagreed as they all headed for the entrance of the Ministry.
The place was already crowded with reporters, obviously alert since the moment news from the manor spread. The announcement they would make in front of the Ministry had traveled throughout all of England — Patronuses, owls with Howlers, and letters with other forms of communication spread the information quickly.
In moments, the entire country turned on its magical radios, waiting to hear about Severus' return and the crisis in Japan, which now involved even Great Britain and other regions of the world. Images of destroyed cities, giants crushing Muggle weapons and confronting wizards were terrifying for everyone, whether in the Muggle or magical world.
And, inevitably, everything fell back onto Severus — the portals, the crisis, and the growing frustration over his disappearance. Many had judged him for having "run away" or vanished when everyone needed him.
Severus looked at the crowd, while several Aurors prevented reporters from advancing as they took photos incessantly. The Supreme Headmistress, Madame Vincent, approached first, while he turned to her asking what was happening, seeing in her eyes a certain frustration.
"About four dozen giants, Lord Prince. Fifty giants are destroying all of Japan. They have spread throughout every region of the country and are causing chaos in each city. Countless lives have already been lost. No one knows how to deal with them; Muggle or magical weapons don't work. Even Unforgivables, like Avada Kedavra, have no effect. We are in a complicated situation."
"The vampires also can't stop them. Dracula himself engaged one of the giants, but had to retreat five minutes later. He is agile, but a giant is far too strong and has extremely rigid defense. Not even his brother-in-law, who brought a group of vampires along with his fiancée and his other daughter — managed to achieve any result. They are focusing more on rescuing civilians than on fighting the giants now."
"Atlantis' weapons were also used to try to stop the giants, but there were only casualties, while no weapon managed to cause damage — unlike what happened in Atlantis after you intervened", she said.
Severus knew about the fifty giants, but he had another question.
"And the main giant?", he said in a dark tone.
Both Vincent and Dumbledore grew even more tense.
"It hasn't moved at any moment. It is in the center of the country… and it is immense. At least one hundred and fifty meters tall", Madame Vincent said.
"I was there. I went to investigate as well. That is not something a human can face, wizard or Muggle", Dumbledore murmured, grim.
There was nothing left to discuss. Severus then turned his gaze to the crowd of reporters who kept taking pictures and trying to listen to the conversation. He stepped forward and turned to all of them, starting to speak.
"I learned tonight about the crisis in Japan. I know you must have wondered what I was doing and why I disappeared for about ten days. And I say this: I was inside a portal, gaining strength to face the creatures that now haunt Japan. Before, I would have struggled. But now, I can deal with them. Anyway… I am here to announce that I am going to Japan tonight, and I will work with everyone who is there to overcome this crisis — and eliminate all the monsters that invaded this world."
Severus turned to the minister.
"Can you give me a Portkey to Japan right now?", he said, ignoring the sea of flashes behind him. He could even try teleporting to Japan now, thousands of kilometers away, but he wasn't sure he could do it even with his power alone, so he would do it the safest way.
"Of course. Follow me", said the minister, walking deeper into the Ministry.
Severus followed her, accompanied by Dumbledore and Vincent, while the reporters shouted behind them.
