[3rd POV]
With the alliance of planets now having all their preparations complete, it was now time to really prepare for the War that was coming. Not in a physical manner, but emotionally, talking to family and friends, reminiscing in case anything...happens.
And that is exactly what Gwen is doing at the moment, sitting in her living room, her girlfriends around her. They weren't showing it, but Gwen could see that they were all worried for the future. Worried for what might happen to Gwen, who was the biggest force in this War.
She was their leader, their champion, the one that would personally be battling with Knull. The one that was most at threat of dying, something that could actually happen with his blade being specifically made to kill the unkillable.
To kill Celestials.
And she was not as strong as a Celestial. Not at her base level.
The girls wouldn't be getting involved in the main fight, and would instead be helping with the killing of the symbiote army. She didn't want them hurt, and knew that they'd do something stupid if they saw her struggling against Knull.
Only Jean and Raven could help, more so Jean than Raven. Jean had the power of the Phoenix Force, which would be a genuine threat to Knull. And thanks to her cultivation, she was a lot stronger than she used to be. Strong enough to destroy worlds.
All of her girlfriends were.
But it didn't matter to Gwen, who wanted their safety more than anything. And she didn't want anyone to interfere with the battle. Only Thor, Blue Marvel, The Hulk, and a handful of others were permitted to interfere, and even then, they wouldn't.
She needed to fight him alone, all for her plan. They would have to come in during a specific moment of her fight, when she used Project Rebirth. Once that happened, she would need time to use the project, giving them the go ahead to fight for her while she was using it.
But at the moment she was just relaxing in her living room, well...mostly. In actuality she was gazing into the 616 universe, watching from afar what Knull was doing. His conquest and destruction of worlds, and his growing army of symbiotes.
He was going to arrive on that universe's Earth within a day, meaning they also had around a day before the war would begin. Which is why everyone was relaxing and just enjoying the final day before the war against Knull begins.
"So, how long is the war against Knull supposed to last?" Artemis asked, having never actually been told.
"Hmm? I am not sure, to be honest. But I imagine a day or so. As we can't let Knull stay alive for too long in this universe, or he'll begin to amass another army even after we take out his" Gwen responded after a few moments of thought.
Knull was a bigger threat the longer he was alive, which is why it was imperative that she killed him before he could increase his power or the size of his army more and more. Although he was actively getting stronger in the other universe, due to his hunt of Celestials and other beings.
"And how are we going to stop him from just doing that while we're fighting him?" Korra asked, asking a pretty valid question considering his level of power.
"I've placed dozens of orbital cannons around the solar system's outer rim. So the second any try, they'll get blasted to hell in an instant. And if Knull himself tries, I'll personally drag him back" Gwen explained, as the others sighed.
"You and your orbital cannons. Seriously, you've made like a hundred of those things!" Jean exclaimed, knowing that Gwen had a shit ton of them, and was constantly improving them when she could.
"Hey, I will have you know that I have made 96 orbital cannons. And they are strong, which is why I make so many of them. They alone could wipe out huge portions of the symbiote army, so I try to make as many as possible to take advantage of that fact" Gwen responded a little indignated.
"Yes yes, hon. We know you love your orbital cannons" M'gann said on the side with a teasing giggle, causing Gwen to pout.
"Won't the cannons harm the surroundings? Like, they are able to destroy planets right? So won't that harm the other planets in the solar system?" Korra asked, as Gwen shook her head.
"No, the cannons will only harm the symbiotes and nothing else. I made specific enchantments on the cannons for that reason. That way we can fire them at will without risk of destroying any of the planets in the solar system, or harming any innocents" Gwen explained. Korra nodded slowly in understanding, a bit confused on how that even worked, but decided not to question her girlfriend's geniusness.
"What about after you kill Knull? What are we going to do then?" Jean asked, as they had never really talked about what comes after.
It was pretty much public knowledge that the incursions were coming for them. That universes were collapsing due to the manipulation of others. That their universe would eventually end, unless Gwen did something.
They alas knew that once Knull was killed, the symbiotes would no longer have a ruler, which would likely lead to some rather large issues, and potentially lead them to do some...problematic things.
"We'll prepare for the incursions, since they will also be arriving soon. But, I do have a plan on how to deal with that particular issue, so you probably won't have to worry about it...probably" Gwen responded, having a plan.
But she wasn't entirely sure if it would work due to the nature of the plan, and the potential issues it can cause with some of the higher entities, most specifically Eternity, Infinity, and the Living Tribunal himself.
Whether or not she can save her universe will be up to the acceptance of the three entities. If they allowed it, then her universe would be saved, if not, then she would have to do something a lot more drastic.
"Well, I hope whatever it is, it works. Because we're bringing in more and more people from universes collapsing from the incursions. And at the rate it's going, we'll be facing one within a year. And considering we have prepared so much for Knull, it would suck to fall to something like that" Artemis responded.
"I am pretty confident it will. But I suppose it'll depend on the opinions of some of the higher entities of the greater multiverse" Gwen said with a shrug, knowing that she wouldn't be able to do jack shit if they said no to her.
She hoped they wouldn't, because that would be annoying.
"That's a little worrying, that you might not be able to" Korra said, as Gwen sighed.
"Yeah well, the higher entities of this multiverse tend to be a pain in the ass to deal with. So if they say I cannot execute the plan I have in mind, then there is nothing I can really do about it. Most of them are far stronger than the current me, afterall" Gwen replied, knowing that the Living Tribunal was another of the entities in this multiverse that could kill her with no difficulty.
She wasn't sure about Eternity or Infinity, but she knew for certain that the Tribunal could.
"Alright, I think it's time we just relax and enjoy the next few hours, alright? We have a big day tomorrow, and I'd prefer to enjoy my life for one more day before the War against Knull" Gwen said, as the others giggled but agreed, as they all leaned back into the couch/into Gwen, deciding to relax for one more time.
At the same time, Gwen had only one thought on her mind, and that was...
'...Tomorrow...tomorrow the War against Knull begins, and everything...will change'
