Angela shook her head, worry written all over her face. "We got separated during the storm yesterday. The rain was so heavy we lost sight of each other. We tried searching for him, but the visibility was terrible, and we had to take shelter."
My chest tightened. "Did you find him?"
Edge hesitated, his jaw tensing. He'd never really liked Cypher—saw him as competition more than anything else. The idea of Cypher being in trouble clearly didn't sit comfortably with him, but neither did admitting concern.
Angela noticed immediately and jabbed him in the side with her elbow. "Say something. Are you mute or what?"
Edge winced and shot her a look before sighing. The irritation in his eyes softened the moment he looked at her. He never could stay annoyed at Angela for long.
