Chapter 4578 - Chapter 4578: Greed

Chapter 4578: Greed

The Ferry of Tribulations slowly flew into the deepest part of the Primal Wilderness. At the instant it broke through the boundary, it suddenly shook violently.

In a flash, it was assaulted by a massive barrage of attacks from all directions, striking the vessel and causing its fierce shuddering to not let up.

Without the support of the Grand Dao, the Ferry could only rely on itself fortunately, it was made of primordial materials and was sturdy enough to withstand it.

Sensing the situation outside the vessel, Lin Moyu grew solemn.

These attacks didn't seem strong roughly at the level of a perfected Chaos Realm but carried extreme invasiveness.

A perfected Chaos Realm expert would face trouble here; with no Dao's protection, just depending on their own defenses, they might not survive these attacks.

A Supreme, though, wouldn't be threatened; their flesh and soul were perfectly strong and could block this level of assault.

If a Chaos Realm practitioner wanted to enter, they'd need a treasure on the level of the Ferry.

Such treasures were extremely rare, so the Primal Wilderness's deepest region was rightfully called a forbidden zone for Chaos Realm experts.

Even if a Supreme tried to bring in Chaos Realm followers, odds were they'd still die inside.

For Lin Moyu, though, with body and soul at such strength, defending against these assaults wasn't difficult.

Yet this was not the place he sought it was too weak, lacking the necessary standards.

In the core of the Primal Wilderness, the concept of time and space vanished. Even Xiaoshu couldn't sense spatial changes, nor the passage of time not even whether the Ferry kept moving or stood still.

Lin Moyu felt the same: everything here was in total chaos. He could only rely on the Primal Chaos Stone for guidance.

In response to Lin Moyu's query, the Stone said:

"Don't worry, we're still moving forward, the direction is right. At this rate, it'll only take another year or two to get through the barrier and enter the interior."

Lately, the Stone hadn't been dozing; perched atop the Calamity Scepter, he eyed the surroundings with growing excitement.

He could see everything outside; neither Lin Moyu's soul world nor the Ferry blocked his view.

Lin Moyu felt a bit of relief. "You've never seen the inside of the world's origin before?"

"Of course not," said the Stone. "You have to go inside to see, even I can't observe it from outside."

"How did you learn all that then?" asked Lin Moyu.

"I heard it from others. Lots of people in different worlds have ventured into the origin, and their tales got around. I was just listening.

Each world's origin is different, though. What I said was just the more common things. Just be careful."

"Luckily, this world isn't too strong. The origin shouldn't be too dangerous. As long as you're alert, not too stupid or reckless, you should be fine."

"Of course, you're here to tempt fate. You came to die here, after all so die well, die thoroughly, let me see how you do it."

The fellow now sounded wide awake and even a little naggy.

Lin Moyu tuned him out and focused all attention on what lay outside.

He couldn't see as easily as the Stone. In his perception, countless attacks pounded the Ferry like a dense hail, but nothing else could be made out.

Still, Lin Moyu persisted in seeking more.

Any time his soul force reached out beyond the Ferry, it was battered to shreds, causing a faint stinging in his mind.

But he didn't give up, knowing this was a rare opportunity.

This was the threshold to the world's origin, the earliest foundation of reality; adapting to these attacks would greatly benefit his next steps.

Every danger has two sides; risk always carries opportunity.

Attempt after attempt Lin Moyu didn't know how many times he'd tried his soul force was repeatedly damaged. He found it seemed to be not quite infinite here.

Xiaoshu's spacetime power was restricted; he couldn't draw energy from the outside to replenish himself.

With a thought, Lin Moyu opened a channel to his storage space, letting Xiaoshu enter and draw power from his world.

Soul force became limitless again.

Through repeated efforts, Lin Moyu made a discovery:

The endless, dense barrage of attacks actually followed a pattern.

There were minuscule gaps between each strike so small as to seem negligible.

Seizing one such gap, he sent his soul force outward.

Soul force now returned with images from beyond the barrage a void filled with countless points of light, each marking a distinct world.

Endless worlds, none very large less than a domain.

The attacks came from these worlds. Centered on the Ferry, at least a hundred thousand were attacking at once.

The transmitted soul force didn't bring much information, so he kept searching the gaps, sending his soul force through again and again.

Fortunately, he had unlimited soul force and quick recovery, so he feared no damage.

Anyone else even a Supreme wouldn't be able to stand this kind of depletion.

With enough tries, Lin Moyu finally understood:

Apart from these peculiar worlds, the void held many domain seeds.

The Primal Wilderness's core also called the world's origin was the source of all things, and domain seeds originated here.

Some seeds blasted away during evolution, becoming domains in the Chaos, while many others never left and were transformed into small worlds by primordial qi.

Those weren't bathed in Chaos rules or blessed by the Dao, but held wild, primordial power essentially proto domains.

Over endless ages, the number of such worlds multiplied, lining the void and together battering all intruders.

They formed the origin's first barrier: only Supremes or quasi Supremes could pass unharmed; even peak level strongmen faced deadly peril.

"The entrance alone is this dangerous; truly not a place of kindness."

"These domain seeds…"

Lin Moyu focused on some of the yet unformed domain seeds: each could evolve into a true domain.

If he took them into his own world, they could grow there.

His ten domains were strengthening, and these seeds would be ideal nourishment for them.

A trace of greed welled up he wanted the seeds.

The Primal Chaos Stone seemed to notice: "Master, got greedy, eh? Too bad it's very difficult, but there's a little time. You can try it out."
