Chapter 4586: The Story of the Primal Chaos Stone
At this moment, Lin Moyu was refining the fragments of the mirror, completely unaware of the thoughts churning within the Primal Chaos Stone, even muttering to himself, "That shattered a bit too easily... it was the very essence of yin and illusion, and had even transformed from illusion to reality."
An extreme yin, extreme illusion object, after countless years of evolution, finally transforms into reality, gaining both illusory and real powers such a mirror would become a lethal weapon.
Yet, because of some tiny flaws, it shattered on its own, which seemed incredible to Lin Moyu.
He did not know just how shaken the Primal Chaos Stone was. The information the mirror revealed was now blurry in his mind, hard to recall.
Somewhere in the ether, an unseen power seemed to be affecting Lin Moyu.
He did not feel it; but the Primal Chaos Stone sensed it deeply, fell perfectly silent, and even fabricated some details to keep Lin Moyu unaware.
"How could it be him!"
That thought echoed again and again in the stone's heart even having seen it himself, he could not believe it.
No matter his inner shock, outwardly the Primal Chaos Stone kept its usual proud pose.
When it came to acting, this old being, having lived for countless years, was an expert, and fooled Lin Moyu entirely.
He could fool Lin Moyu, but not himself; the inner vibration continued for a long time.
In all the world, only he knew how terrifying that person was and that person was not even from this world. His existence was unique.
While wandering in the life restricted zone, the Primal Chaos Stone had seen firsthand that being's strength.
For Lin Moyu to have had such an existence in one of his past lives was incredible.
And now Lin Moyu, as his master, possessed a second world; perhaps Lin Moyu could one day reach that level.
"No, not just to that level, but to surpass it."
"If a living soul enters the forbidden zone, maybe there really is a chance..."
"But why do I feel as if some memory was wiped away? That can't be right, maybe I was mistaken... Anyway, maybe I'll witness a miracle this time."
His mood changed from shock to excitement, when suddenly Lin Moyu said, "How could that thing shatter so easily? It felt harder to deal with than even a Supreme."
No matter how much he thought about it, Lin Moyu couldn't make sense of it.
The Primal Chaos Stone snorted in pride, keeping up appearances, "Nothing puzzling about it. Everything in the world is determined, strength and weakness, perfection and flaw, often separated by the thinnest of lines.
Some small problems, at the right time, become deadly. That's why foundations must be strong only with the most solid base can you reach the top, or you'll fall at any time."
He sounded like a senior passing down wisdom; Lin Moyu knew all this, but it wasn't the answer he wanted.
The Primal Chaos Stone continued, "Let me tell you a story."
Lin Moyu smiled, "Please do."
The Stone had seen too much, was rarely willing to speak of old times, so when he offered a story, Lin Moyu was happy to listen.
The Stone coughed lightly, his voice lowering as if setting a scene:
"In the life restricted zone, there are countless worlds, with new ones being born all the time. Most can't survive their first great calamity and never become living worlds.
There was once a world called Breaking Blue born strong, it could have survived six rounds of catastrophe, maybe seven with good luck.
You know, worlds capable of enduring seven rounds are not unknown, but their laws are too strong none has ever produced a Supreme being."
"But that world, already extremely powerful, actually gave birth to a Supreme.
That in itself isn't unusual; other high level worlds have produced Supremes. But the truly bizarre part is this: Breaking Blue produced a Supreme during its very first catastrophe."
"The first catastrophe, the test of life or death, before life is even born... yet Breaking Blue already had a Supreme."
Lin Moyu raised his eyebrows, "An outsider?"
The Stone replied, "Exactly. Occasionally, worlds form links, very secretly and very briefly most last an instant.
It just so happened that during Breaking Blue's first calamity, it connected with another world for much longer than usual.
A living being entered from the other side, began absorbing primordial qi, and refining world source treasures from the wall.
He alone claimed over half of Breaking Blue's primordial qi. By the end of the first disaster, he'd become a Supreme and fully refined the world."
Lin Moyu was stunned, "Such a thing could actually happen."
The Stone replied, "It only happened once, ever. But it shows that nothing is impossible there are only unheard of things, never impossible ones."
Lin Moyu nodded, "What happened next?"
The Stone went on, "It got even more outrageous. After refining Breaking Blue, he didn't let it produce new life he spent half a catastrophe's time gathering every shred of its power.
Breaking Blue was a six round world at its limit the amount of energy he absorbed blew the mind.
Then, he entered the world wall, traveled to other realms, refining world remnants along the way, becoming stronger and stronger.
He clashed with countless Supremes every one of them lost to him.
And not just that: he counterattacked into those beings' homeworlds and refined them, too."
The Primal Chaos Stone's voice dropped low: he was teaching Lin Moyu that a true strongman needs no justification; he does whatever he wants.
Strength is the only real truth this never changes.
Lin Moyu replied, "His actions were extreme, but there must have been a reason, a purpose."
"Of course," said the Stone, "but nobody knows what it was. All the Supremes kept their distance; some even teamed up to kill him, but were destroyed instead.
He stood proud and alone; karma dared not approach him. Beneath his feet were countless world remnants, endless lives destroyed.
He refined world after world nine hundred ninety nine of them; by then, he'd reached a limit.
So he leapt "
