Chapter 770 - Chapter 10

I had already prepared a work table and tools for disassembling-sawing-cutting the puppets, so I wasted no time in leading the students down to the basement, only stopping for a few moments to warn my wife about it and ask her to call me for dinner when it was ready - knowing myself, we could dig into new toys until the evening without a break, and the students wouldn't say a word about the need for a break.

I've been there, I've been there, I've gotten a kick out of women and now I always warn them in advance.

- Lay out your trophies," I patted the massive workbench made of rough planks, hastily constructed and capable of supporting a considerable weight.

Naturally, I hadn't forgotten about safety, having applied a few barrier seals around the edge to ensure the safety of the researchers even in the most unfavorable situations.

- Which one should I print? - Hoshi asked, pulling out a couple of scrolls. - Both of them won't fit in here.

- Let's go with the lizard, and leave the millipede for later," he chose after a moment's hesitation.

The wooden carcass appeared on the table in a puff of smoke, and I immediately realized that I had been wrong about the material used - the genin's craft was only made of wood on the outside, but in the few gaps between the shields I could see a metal frame.

Apparently wood was simply cheaper to use. Upon preliminary inspection, it was clear that ordinary staples had been used to fasten the wood together wherever possible without reducing the puppet's mobility, and that the outer layer was securely bolted to the frame.

The joints of the five massive limbs were - surprise! - made of wood and lubricated with some sort of oil or grease. I suppose because of the greater ease of processing with the help of chakra, which simplified the technological chain. The jaws of the head were wedged shut, and there was only a flat hole in the tail.

Armed with a tool and a mounting, we began to carefully disassemble the lizard, previously sketching and marking the position of the detachable part, so that then we could put everything back together.

And in the first few minutes, I discovered a rather curious seal that was applied to the inside of the puppet's frame, as well as its paws, tail, and head. Attempts to activate it with chakra yielded nothing, but logically, it's some sort of control seal, and it's protected from being "hacked" by other people's chakra, which is a reasonable precaution against more experienced kugutsu users taking over their weapons. How curious.
