Chapter 881 - Chapter 881: If You Can’t Beat Them, Shock Them

Watching King Kong grab Laura and attempt to flee, William cast a levitation spell on the fallen Thunderbird and ordered Sunday to install a tracking system on it.

Then, with a mere thought, he crossed several hundred meters in an instant, appearing directly in King Kong's escape path.

The sudden appearance of William startled the giant ape, causing it to screech to a halt. It looked up at him in confusion, the golden Sentinel armor and flowing cape making him look even more imposing.

Then, King Kong glanced back at the spot where William had just been hovering, only to find it empty.

Panic flickered across the ape's face. It feared him, yet it still bellowed loudly in an attempt to intimidate him.

Too bad its methods—effective against beasts—were useless against William.

What truly intrigued him was why this massive creature had bolted the moment it saw him.

Was it afraid of lightning? Or were there other humanoid beings on this planet who could fly like him?

Curious, William descended slightly to match King Kong's height and slowly drifted toward it.

That was enough to push the already irritable ape over the edge.

Roaring furiously, King Kong began stomping the ground and thrashing about in frustration.

Yet William continued his slow, deliberate approach. When the distance closed to about forty meters, King Kong lost all hope of scaring him off.

With a furious bellow, it ripped an enormous tree from the ground, hoisted it like a club, and hurled it at William.

As the tree flew toward him, William casually extended his hand.

His telekinesis wasn't powerful enough to lift multi-ton objects easily, but redirecting a flying tree? That was simple.

With a mere flick of his wrist, the massive tree veered off-course in midair, soaring past him by more than ten meters before crashing into the distant forest.

Both King Kong and Laura gawked in shock.

Before either could react, William waved at Laura.

Weighing barely a hundred pounds, she was instantly lifted off King Kong's shoulder and soared into the sky, screaming as she ascended several dozen meters.

In the blink of an eye, William appeared directly in front of King Kong, who instinctively stumbled backward in alarm before angrily swiping a massive palm at him.

Unfortunately, while the ape's strength was impressive, its speed was nowhere near that of William, who could move at over 100 kilometers per second.

With a simple sidestep, he dodged the attack and retaliated with a small yet electrified fist, slamming it into King Kong's jaw.

BOOM!

The punch sent the great ape staggering sideways, its body trembling from the electric shock.

Lying on the ground, King Kong stared up at William in disbelief, eyes filled with pain and confusion.

"Wait! Stop! We surrender!"

Still floating in the air, Laura finally snapped out of her daze.

Seeing how effortlessly William had knocked down King Kong, she realized the ape had no chance of winning.

Frantically waving her arms, she shouted, "Stop! Don't hurt King Kong! We surrender!"

But King Kong, hearing her voice, roared defiantly and leaped to its feet.

With another bellow, it lunged at William, swinging a fist straight at him.

By the time the punch reached its target, however, William had already teleported dozens of meters into the air.

Lowering his helmet, he smirked at Laura. "Where's your father?"

Recognizing him at last, Laura's eyes widened. Then, without warning, she threw her arms around his neck and buried her face in his shoulder, sobbing.

Understanding her emotions, William sighed and gently patted her back.

"I'm sorry, Laura. I'm really sorry."

"ROOOOAAARRR!"

Even without looking, William's psychic senses told him that King Kong was losing its mind.

The ape, fearing for Laura's safety, was wildly thrashing its arms and howling in anger.

Then, as it bent its legs to leap at him, William simply willed his telekinesis into action.

Able to lift over a ton with ease, he yanked at King Kong's ankle mid-jump.

THUD!

The beast crashed to the ground, rolling several times and smashing through multiple trees before coming to a dazed stop.

Hearing the impact, Laura clung to William even tighter and screamed, "Stop! King Kong, stop!"

The simplicity of her command seemed to get through to the ape, who slowly calmed down.

But when it looked up and saw Laura clinging to William, its eyes burned with jealousy.

Snorting angrily, King Kong stomped around restlessly, as if ready to attack again.

William frowned. It seemed the ape wouldn't settle down unless he beat it into submission.

Raising his hand, he summoned an arc of lightning into his palm.

To his surprise, King Kong immediately flinched and backed away in terror.

"Wait, William, wait!" Laura, still holding onto his neck as if afraid he'd drop her, quickly pleaded, "Don't hurt him!"

Ignoring her protests, William extended his hand.

A bolt of lightning crackled through the air, striking King Kong.

"Aaarrrrghhh!"

The ape howled in agony as electricity danced across its body.

"So… it really is afraid of lightning?" William mused.

Now thoroughly subdued, the once-defiant King Kong slumped in exhaustion.

"That Thunderbird you shot down was always using its lightning powers to steal King Kong's food," Laura explained.

Then, looking at his shimmering golden armor, she asked curiously, "What is that suit? How can you fly, control lightning, and move objects?"

"Nano Sentinel Armor," William answered casually.

"As for how it was made…" He shrugged, already preparing an excuse.

"Even if I explained, you wouldn't understand. And besides, it's not something that can be summed up in a few sentences."

"Ugh." Laura scowled at his dismissive attitude.

Crossing her arms, she snorted, "Fine. You can put me down now, Duke Devonshire."

William burst into laughter, loosening his grip around her waist.

Then, just to mess with her, he deactivated the telekinetic hold supporting her in midair.

"Aaahhh!"

The sudden feeling of weightlessness made Laura panic.

Desperately, she clung to William's neck even tighter, instinctively wrapping her legs around his waist.

"You bastard! You rude, unchivalrous bastard!"

She pounded her fists against his shoulders—only to recoil in pain as his armored surface sent numbing vibrations through her hands.

"ROOOARRR!"

Hearing her scream, King Kong, now calmer, still let out an irritated growl.

Too bad its protest was met with yet another lightning strike from William.

Zzzzt!

Paralyzed by the shock, King Kong slumped to the ground, limbs twitching.

"You're crazy! My God, you can't treat him like this!"

Seeing her companion, who had saved her countless times over the past six months, being electrocuted, Laura was furious.

But as she glared at William, she realized that—covered head-to-toe in gleaming golden armor—there was no way to retaliate.

With her fists aching from the last attempt, she could only seethe helplessly.
